Absolutely right. Working in Holland this week so couldn't make it last night but I'm back so looking forward to Montrose and Motherwell. No use slating the manager and players. We must fill Ibrox and get behind the team. Watched the game on Alba last night and the right back looks a player. Don't underestimate McCoist. Remember when he started his career at Rangers? He was pants. The rest is history. The mans a legend.

Bumped into him and his family last year at the Nuffield hospital. Seemed a really nice guy and by all accounts liked Glasgow and Scotland. I would imagine that him and Bocanegra realise that they will be moved on due to wages etc so that would explain the shaky start this year. A bit inconsistent in his time at Rangers but not a bad player IMO anyway. Best of luck wherever he ends up.

Three at the back in this league should be the way to go however to play that formation you need the right defenders that are comfortable defending that way. Too often yesterday the back 3 ended up as a back 2. Reason for this I think was that Kirk likes to bomb forward as a wing back. Now I'm not knocking him because although I'm not a fan I thought he did alright. Just that i don't think he looks comfortable in a three and would be happier in a back 4. It looks like Ally will stick with this formation and hopefully the players will adapt but I fear if we come up against a better quality side we may be opened up too easily and he will have to revert to a four.

Agreed. Probably one of the worst I've ever seen at Ibrox. A couple of really bad tackles that should have seen straight red and would have it it was one of our players. Early in the game the main stand linesman flagged an ES player offside during an attack and the ref clearly saw it, chose to ignore it and the linesman put his flag down. Bizarre. Then Sandaza and Kyle got flagged offside, would like to see them again on TV. To be fair to the Shire players they were out on there feet in the second half, trying to get a foot in, but well late. Shame about the man in black. I thought the refs in the previous games, East Fife and Peterhead were ok so hopefully this is not a sign of things to come in Div 3.

I'd agree with that although I think that Boca is a complete professional and it may be Goian that's making him look bad. Broadfoot? Why this man's still at Rangers just beggars belief. For the last 2 years we've been complaining about Whittaker and a lot of people were wanting Broadsword at right back... incredible, probably one of the worst defenders I've ever seen. Andy Little got the touch for the equaliser but that's about all he did, the right side is woeful. Early days though and basically we've had no pre season matches and only Brechin, East Fife and Peterhead to play against. Kyle and Sandaza look promising and hopefully Ian Black will come on to a game too.

Goian and Bocanegra do not want to be there. Broadfoot was just Broadfoot, we need a good right back. In fact a right side of Broadfoot and Little is a non starter, hopefully Ally can see that. Lee Wallace was the only defender with any appetite for the game. Alexander was shocking at the second goal. Opted to punch when under no pressure. Well done Kevin Kyle. His physical presence is going to be required in this league especially having just watched Peterhead try to kick us off the park.... Too many players thought they just had to turn up today. Welcome to the 3rd Division.

Disrepute?!!! All I can think is that they, the sfa, don't know the meaning of the word which is fairly likely as they don't appear to understand the meaning of the word bigot either. Bringing the game into disrepute gentlemen was, for me, perfectly illustrated in last years Scottish Cup semi final when, at the final whistle, one of the sides coach's made a beeline for the ref and went face to face with him (he looked as if, and i was hoping that, he was going to headbutt him). Anywhere else in football major charges would have brought against said coach. What happened? Not much from what I remember. Anyway for me that's disrepute. What CG dared to come out with was the truth and we all know that the powers that be just can't handle that.

Sad thing was Forrest was still only 22/23 years old. Had he stayed I've no doubt he'd have gone on to be a goalscoring legend. If Forrest and McLean had not been shipped we wouldn't have had to play a center half at center forward in the 67 Cup Winners Cup final.....
