Good first half Rangers. Cagey and open as fuck. Benfica playing as we would away from home, aiming to hit on the counter.
Some really good passages to play, but we need to be a bit more joined up with the passing and pressing.
Game is there for the taking.

Honeslty gutted I couldn't get a ticket for Thursday. Feel we are in for real special night - a team what I'd call in "dangerous" position. You just need to look at the away tie and how well we done with the injuries we had. Starting to feel very reminiscent of the 2022 EL Final run.
Thursday Nights & Ibrox just hit differently, and I'm positive Benfica will feel that on Thursday. Fans are always outstanding but I know Thursday will be on a different level.

Glad we have him for Thursday. Silva was brilliant tonight and worked his socks off, Dessers on the other hand very poor IMO. Glad we have another forward option.

I think it's a light yellow card, no lighter than Roofe's though. He does put his arm in front of Matondo face to block the run.

Thinking back to 2 seasons ago, IIRC, we took 2 ties back to Ibrox whilst behind on the tie and turned it around. You could see towards the end, Benfica really going for it - as they know exactly what their in for next Thursday 🤛

Not disputing Silva's work rate this evening, just some of his decision making at really key times. The last bit of play there for example, where there's acres of space for the inside pass, but he smashes it down the left side straight back at Benfica

Thursday nights just hit different.
Stunning first half, to concede a shitey penalty was hard to stomach, but fuck me - what a response.
I think we have to go for them here, their stadium is half empty, some of their players clearly rattled. Di Maria, their striker Cabral I think, all look one moment from losing it and getting red carded. Bears over their have been in fine voice and putting their fans to shame.
