  1. an online stream might be an option frontrowsports or wiziwig carry most matches; the quality's not always great though
  2. it'd be an idea for bears to pose this question in as many online forums as possible - what about the SPL's £11m debt is liability for that going to be shared by all 42 clubs? i've just posted it on the BBC Sports website. if it gets out there enough some journo might think of asking the question of those who know the answer
  3. the creditors would just love that - who'd ever do business with them again? i just don't get how a couple of play-offs between non-entity clubs is going to make Scottish football more attractive or more sustainable. the English premiership is the only show in town, SPL, SPFL or whatever can't compete with that they're just flogging the poor old dead horse
  4. this is an great example of the shambles that is Scottish football. if a breakaway is possible how can television rights to Rangers matches still be on the table? if there is a market for those (and we know that there is) the SFL would be far better to reach their own agreement on TV rights rather than let them be part of a deal with the SPL and SPL2. Is there a sponsor for the SPL for 2013/14?? - no, I didn't think so. Regrettably Scottish football is screwed - our kids are more interested in the English premiership than Morton v QoS and who can blame them. If there s to be a bright future for Rangers, it is not to be found in Scotland. CG saw this, I am afraid that without robust leadership we will lose the impetus to get out of Scotland and is the longer term we'll be in a third-rate set up going nowhere
  5. the talent on show is fantastic, especially Chelsea. Interesting thing is you can see the way these clubs' first teams play in the way their under-18s play the game. quality stuff
  6. I love a bit of crystal ball gazing so here goes: SFL say thanks but no thanks - set about 2 years of discussions and negotiations with clubs. In the meantime Rangers proceed through SFL2 and SFL1 financially assisting the SFL clubs we play through our attendance at games. In the same 2 years, about half of the SPL clubs are bust or facing the end. Who has the whip hand then? Longmuir and the SFL clubs I'd hope. There's no need to rush reorganisation, time is on the SFL's side.
  7. it's a pity Jim Boyce couldn't even remember the special dispensation given to Derry City....truth is is the English Premier League want it to happen, it'll happen. Money talks.
  8. Scottish professional football is buggered because there are too many clubs and too little interest. It'd be a much healthier position if around 50% of the clubs in the SPL and Div 1 went out of business leaving fewer clubs to share the revenues that are possible. If the game is really going to grow it needs fewer clubs but it also needs the clubs that survive to be genuinely competitive so that the title is no longer a one or two horse race. the SPL clubs can now see the bloodbath coming but in truth that's what's really needed to take all the "meaningless" games out of the set up not some fancy dan farce of mini-leagues within leagues - that was just a pile of sh*t
  9. being in Northern Ireland, don't listen to Clyde but'll listen to this tonight; love a good laugh!!
  10. i can't help but throw more conspiracy theory into the mix. the timing of this assault on CG is interesting, you'd almost think someone is afraid that with Rangers a success in the SFL it might not be too long before that becomes the dominant body in Scottish football. afterall if you'd gone to all the trouble of creating the SPL and had hopes of dominating the Scottish game for decades to come you'd be crapping yourself if you thought the SPL could go bust in the next 12 months - you might have to ask the SFL to admit you so phone your journo mates throw more dirt at CG and start all the SFL clubs thinking Rangers can't be trusted
  11. This. I've saying this for weeks. The only way out of Scotland is if there is no effective professional league. Kill the league, make your case to UEFA and off you go...
  12. I am so fed up with this persistent hounding of Rangers. Regardless of voting next week I really don't want us playing in the Sellick Premier League or Sellick Premier League 2 - I want nothing to do with that shower again. The Old Firm has had it's day, time for Rangers to build a new future, separate and disassociated from them.
  13. As the BBC have it RANGERS PROMOTED TO DIVISION TWO
  14. just to think when the frenzy to destroy Rangers kicked off people were seriously suggesting that if Rangers no longer existed then Rangers fans would choose to follow other clubs...shows just how much the jokers in Scottish football actually know about the sport 12-12-18 leaves no opportunity to "invite" us into the top division, it'll not happen Sellick would like out of Scotland too, we all know that. but that can't happen if there is a viable professional league in Scotland and I'm starting to believe that their long term plan is to allow the professional game to die so that they can start to pitch for a move themselves
  15. i was just reading about Flamengo on wikipedia - the other curious coincidence with them is that originally they were founded as a rowing club and of course our first badge was adopted from a rowing club... more than that they had an accident and at risk of drowning were saved by a boat called "Loyal" - who'd believe it? Sorry - i keep on editing this post; apparently one of their first players was a guy called Lawrence Andrews - surely a Scot; might he have gone for a Rangers-like crest???
  16. no trophy for clubs in the middle tier to play for??? football is all about trying to win trophies - why would anyone care about a competition that has no prize? time for Rangers to get out of this mess - it's the Conference for me if that's what it takes.
  17. i am outraged. i've just read this morning that Sir Alex Ferguson is allowing Barnsley to use United's training facilities ahead of their FA Cup tie today against Manchester City - what a vile act!!! Surely the Scottish Sun will be right on top of this one bringing it to the attention of football authorities across the world....can we not just boycott the Sun???
  18. I didn't realise they played 6-a-side footie as long ago as 1890 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Antique-Glasgow-Rangers-St-Mirren-Football-Prize-1890-Jas-Morrison-/370768277197?_trksid=p2045573.m2102&_trkparms=aid%3D555003%26algo%3DPW.CAT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D33%26meid%3D6107968832430598823%26pid%3D100034%26prg%3D1031%26rk%3D1%26
  19. written by someone who clearly knows nothing about European football. I take it Manchester City are hate filled bigots because they welcomed Real Madrid before their game against United? - if it wasn't so sad, and wouldn't be accepted as gospel by the thick and ignorant Sun readership, it'd be funny
  20. the sooner the SPL collapses into a sorry mess and there is no longer a viable professional league for us to be tied to the better - controversial? too right - but as many many people say in this forum, Scottish football is screwed, it's time to get out
  21. As we all know Scottish football is well and truly F**KED. Talksport on the way home tonight was asking "What is the future for a club like Sellick?" Well the future is a fairly quick fall to mediocrity. Without a competitive league, no team can sustain interest or performance. Players won't stay, each year competing in Europe will be more and more difficult - it's a road to nowhere. In truth the only way for any Scottish club to escape this future is to get out and compete in another league. I know this is debated long and hard on this forum and many of us don't fancy it but if in the longer term we want Rangers to be a significant force in British and European football we have to get away from the Scottish set-up.
  22. the fixture SPL chairmen told the world would replace the "old firm" is playing right now at den's park - massive world wide interest no doubt. Scottish football has been screwed over by those club chairmen and I think Rangers need to be sure that there are significant changes at the top of the football authorities before considering any developments that could see our fingers burnt again. I'm pretty sure I read a few weeks ago that LNS also said we should never have been put in the position of asking to be re-admitted to the SPL after the liquidation of the oldco - Rangers were still a founder club of the SPL Also on the fine this week; the "deliberate non-disclosure" was so bad we were fined £70 a day for the period concerned - hardly a massive figure which suggests to how serious the omission really was.
  23. diddy clubs "Liewell, you wasted all our money and led us up a dead end" Liewell "Not me pal, it was Doncaster"
  24. we were fined less than £23,000 for each year of the non-disclosure or £437 a week - that indicates how serious an offence the Tribunal thought was committed - i think wee Neil needs to get a bit of perspective
