  1. great post - but I'm afraid we'll never see a public enquiry; PAC hearing's possible though
  2. We're not good enough to do anything in the top division anyway. God, I am so depressed. Nightmare.
  3. Given the state we're in, I'm getting worried that if we did manage to get promoted, we'd not be able to hack it in the premier and end up relegated. That would be the ultimate humiliation in my opinion. What do folk think about an other year in the championship? Do we need that time to try and sort out the mess?
  4. I don't see anyone else coming to the rescue but this bit of the article makes me wonder......would Sellick really welcome Ashley's money coming into Rangers, potentially putting us back at the top of the game in Scotland? "There is no certainty of anything like unanimous approval, but many in the higher reaches of the Scottish game acknowledge that a revived Rangers, capable of resuming the Old Firm rivalry and renewing the club’s presence in Europe would make Scotland more attractive to broadcasters and league sponsors, with general benefits."
  5. Wait and see, we'll probably get a fine and a points deduction just to rub it in. I can see us being condemned to the Championship for another year.
  6. I wonder if any of these folk so keen on boycotting realise that the boycott was first used by Irish nationalists against a land agent working for Lord Erne, Charles Boycott. It's a tarnished tactic to go with tarnished titles.
  7. we should do a Vitesse Arnhem and get a whole clatter of hungry young players from Chelsea
  8. best prep is to keep winning and get to the top of our own division
  9. we're going to beat them - it'll put the last 3 years behind us
  10. i've heard it said he's interested in the support base in the US, Australia and New Zealand too - he obviously thinks there's money to be made and it can't be from asset stripping, we've few enough assets to strip
  11. if Ashley didn't think he could make money out of Rangers he wouldn't be here at all - and he can only make money out of Rangers if we are successful. I'm happy for him to make money from his investment in the club if there's enough investment to put us back at the top of the game in Scotland. Trying to be optomistic about it, we could be in for a very exciting few years.
  12. in a top of the Premier League tussle with Hamilton and Inverness Cale
  13. Apparently the English FA won't allow the owner of an English club to have more than a 10% stake in another club.
  14. the shares were bought by Mike Ashley raising his stake to just below 9%. He cannot own more than 10% unless he sells Newcastle. BBC saying that by December we won't be able to pay staff wages - anyone heard anything about this??
  15. http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/local/linfield/linfield-fans-banned-from-singing-billy-boys-30193186.html Linfield fans aren't allowed any variation of the words or in fact to use the tune itself - even whistling it is apparently sectarian. Explain that to visitors from the USA
  16. great performance - really looked like a Rangers team tonight. great application throughout, sharp passing, tempo excellent we had a real hunger to get forward and score goals. who could ask for more?
  17. that was a tough watch but we did eventually win. no doubt the defence is better with Moshni but I think when Templeton came on we began to see what we can do against teams in our division. it's early days, let's stay positive
  18. has anyone got their goodie bag yet? what's in it?
  19. yes, if they go out of the Champions League they go into the Europa League playoffs. there's some decent sides in the Europa League too so wouldn't fancy their chances. i always knew that by the time we made it back to the Premier League they'd have screwed the coefficient for Scottish clubs
  20. there'll be little said about this, the media are only interested in vilifying Rangers and the so-called "top-flight" clubs live on self-interest and spite. Don't worry, we will be back at the top of the game in Scotland pretty soon, back where we belong
  21. Paulo Di Canio wants it apparently - I rest my case, less a fool more a nutter lol
  22. I liked this on the BBC website "The Championship has now become the marquee division in Scotland, the place where so many of our Saturdays and Sundays will be spent come the new season. The television companies will be scratching their heads. Their box-office teams are dropping like flies out of the top flight." Can't wait for August - bring it on.....
  23. No - we stand there loud and proud, we're on the way back - they're on the way down
  24. only a fool would take on the Celtic job. expected to win every game in a league that even if you win it by a mile it gains you no credibility as a manager. a foray into europe to put a gloss on things but chances are you'll be out by Christmas. it's a dead-end job if there ever was one. taking Rangers back to the top of Scottish football would be more appealing to a young talented and career minded manager. Lennon's jumped ship at the right time, staying there was going to do nothing for his career.
