Congrats to the lads for getting to the final, shame we lost it but its still a great achievement given i imagine some of the opposition have much better funded youth teams.

Gazza winning 8in a row for us was one of those days where we saw a footballer and a team at its absolute peak destroying the opposition completely, its the archetypical Rangers performance for me full of skill, magic, grit and class. For shear drama, twists and turns and unexpected elation Helicopter Sunday is top though.

It sounds positive however these events always do. We need much more meat on the bones of the review and whilst i don't doubt Wallace is working hard to correct the short term mistakes of the Green\Mather days he does need to remember we are not at "business as usual" whilst a boycott of STs is held no matter what insane rational for said boycott, until we can get figures that support the positive noises on ST sales then the lunatics could still end up fucking us over badly.

He doesn't have to say they are pish (even though they are) just that we are looking forward to the challenge and that we are confident in our ability to match teams like Hivs and hertz. Positive, respectful and yet still full of the Rangers No Surrender spirit. Our defence is pretty bad and needs strengthened no doubt but if we had tried to play to our strengths more which is attacking pacey football with Templeton\Aird or Shiels\Gallagher pushing on and getting lots of balls into the box for Clark and Daly (up till Feb) to feed off we could have made the 8-0 win against Stennie a much more familiar sight. The part time teams didn't threaten out defence too much and most goals we conceded were screamers wr could have given Halkett and Luca 20 odd games each rotating them and really seen if they could of done a job next year.

I don't think Butcher is a particularly good manager and i know nothing of the Hertz manager but my point is we have a squad easily good enough to walk this league but Ally installs the idea we need to go one up front and deploy holding mids against part time players and grind them down after 80-85mins. What will he do against the opposition next season? He's already talked about being "worried" about Hivs despite our clearly better squad. If the op is addressed to anybody it should be Ally and find out what worrys him so much about them.
