Anybody moaning about that performance would fucking moan about finding £100 and losing a fiver. A brand new team with 6 players making their Rangers debut in the starting 11 (2 who only signed the previous day) we play against a side of quality players with EPL experience; We could have been 3 up before Burnley scored a sloppy goal caused by players not used to each other; on another day we could have had a penalty; We play a brand of precise passing football not seen at Ibrox for years and some fans still ain't happy and have virtually conceded defeat against the Embra junkies
For fuck sake get a grip of yourself.
There were far more positives out of that friendly than we have seen for the past 4 years.Yes we could do with a good recognised striker, but getting one of those is far from easy and fucking expensive thanks to the money madness of leagues like the EPL etc. and I'm 100% certain MW isn't oblivious to the fact we are short in that department. Watch us go when these players are used to playing together on a regular basis.
Well done,Lads It was worth getting up in the middle of the night to watch it

I look forward to Waggy settling in. He's a class act and will hopefully find his feet.
I was encouraged by the way he was able to bring players into thre game, but of course he missed a big chance with his header and maybe could have done better with his volley.
Still I think he will bang in the goals for us, and prove any doubters wrong.

Don't understand the negativity. Not sure how it comes across on streams or RTV but that was one of the most pleasing performances I've seen in a long time. There was an actual desire to recover the ball from the whole team and when we did, there were plenty of options.
The interchange between Halliday and Holt was tremendous. Off the back of this game I think Holts got a bright future with us, reminiscent of Ferguson with his demanding of the ball: ability wise there's still a long way to go, but I love to see a midfielder dominate the ball in possession like he did.
Waghorn looks the part, I can see exactly what Marky meant when he said he was a second striker though, his flick ons and ability to make space was fantastic.
Final mention is for Tavernier: wow. Stunning from him, one point he was battling for the ball, got tripped, back up and raced back to the ball before the Burnley player reacted, he'll be a star for us.

Massive over reaction from some on here.
Don't get me wrong, this isn't who I pictured when Warburton was laying out his style, but I've no idea who this Eustace is, if his leadership qualities align with what Warburton is trying to achieve on the park, it can only be a good thing for the team, and a number of the younger players.
People didn't like mcculloch not because he was old, but because he was shoehorned into centrehalf, tried to make him something he wasn't and never looked like that inspiring of a leader. He cost us goals and our play had a detrimental effect with him there.
Age doesn't mean pish, miller was praised for his work ethic and some bits of his play last year, he was older than everyone yet had much more drive and impact than anyone else.
As a guy who'll get the team calm, get them playing how warbs wants, gets them shaped up as they should, gets them fired up before the game, i really don't see what the issue is. If he does that, he'll be a shrewd signing for a few of the younger lads

I don't even really care what colour of strip we have now, used to wait with major anticipation to see what the strips looked like, but so long as it's main colours are red white and blue, I'm a happy bear. Having said that, the Orange top will always be my favourite
It's got to the stage were I'd just love to see the reaction of the MSM, the Tims and all the other obsessed bunch out there, we released an orange kit in homage to Dick Advocaat, we can now release an Orange kit in homage to McCall and his gorgeous hair

It was insanity Einstein was referring to and wee Stuart has already covered this saying he will give every available player a chance to prove they deserve to wear the jersey.
So many on here demand he waves a magic wand and Allys shite disappears.............get real!
He cannot drop every single one of the duds all at once.
His only goal at the moment is to, somehow, get us to the play-offs. I back him to do that.
And, for those that say what's the point as we can't beat Hibs anyway, I say let's get there first and see what shape our team is in then. I think we will be far better positioned to beat Hibs,M/well etc in May than we are now.

I had a discussion at the start of the season with a few fellow bears regarding the possibility of Boyd being re-signed and I was 100% AGAINST it.
The argument put to me was that after his impressive season with Kilmarnock, the fact we were in the Championship and that he would probably be partnered with Miller in a front two that they would both score for fun.
My rebuttal to that argument was simple ... Who is going to create the chances?
Under McCoist we had adopted the worst style of football imaginable, long balls, very little in the way of a passing game and no plan B. We had been crying out for a creative midfielder (we had one in MacLeod but Ally was insistent on playing him out wide), without the signing of such a player it didn’t matter who we had up front, we wouldn’t create enough chances to get the goals.
So to answer your question, Yes i believe the system and tactics adopted by both Ally and Kenny this season have had a huge bearing on both Boyds (and the teams for that matter) lack of goals. Lack of chances leads to lack of goals which leads to strikers low on confidence, I mean how many times have we strikers (look at Costa at Chelsea) going through dry spells regardless of effort.
Don't get me wrong I think Boyd has to take some of the responsibility also, i think quite a number of times this season I have questioned his attitude and work rate. However until the system changes, we wont see any of our strikers scoring regularly any time soon.

I'd be completely happy if this came to fruition
Magath did get some stick at Fulham, but I'd be keen to hear what he's got to offer. As for Cathro, he appears to be switched on and is undoubtebly one of the few British managers/coaches to be sucessful abroad.

That's definetly impacted us, games where won at a canter with very little football breaking out, especially in the 2nd, we won games just by turning up and being the bigger, stronger and fitter team, now teams are equally as fit, if not more so, and we lack the creativity to break them down and the know how to keep them out.
Hopefully a new gaffer with a good backroom staff comes in and sorts it out, the next managerial appointment is critical, we can't get it wrong.

I'm saying Aird is quick and tries hard which are fine attributes. He's clearly well liked by the management and I imagine is eager to please and applies himself. He is very limited though. He isn't a natural. A bit like Greg Wylde he has been coached to use his pace and doesn't have much else.
MacKay is a talented boy. He IS a natural footballer. He is far better than Aird. A good set of coaches would have gotten more from him but doubtless he's a bit harder to work with. He has miles more potential than Aird because he starts from a position of natural ball control and skill and needs help maturing into good pro. Seems like we are happier with the easy fix.

I lay awake last night thinking, Mcdowell won't have the balls to keep all three out, despite it being our best performance in months. Worst comes to the wrost I can see Foster and Jig starting for Zal and Faure, I think Simmo is still suspended? That right?
Faure, for all his medriocrity, offers just as much as Foster going forward, is slightly better defensively so it'd be foolish to drop him after a steady game.
Zal, needs games, but against a good Hibs side, I can't say he did too much wrong, unlike McCulloch in the previous Hibs games, Zal should keep his spot and is for all intents and purposes, our best centre half.
My biggest fear would be a tie between Foster or Simmonsen coming back into that team, with McCulloch a very close second. Ideally all three are shown the door pronto, but I can't see it.
Let's pump this mob, go about it the same way we did against Hibs and get back to winning ways. I'd keep the same as the Hibs team with the exception of Temps in for Miller and Clark for Boyd.
    Robinson
    Faure Mcgregor Zal Wallace
    Hutton Murdoch
    Law Temps Vuckic
    Clark

What a weird turn of events, it's funny, I've been saying for god knows how long that players should be picked on merit, Clark, Temps, Mckay, Gallagher, etc all appear to be better options than the ones that Mcdowell/McCoist were continually picking and not dropping regardless of form. Massively hypocritical from Mcdowell here. These lads will offer something different and I welcome that.
People who are slating Ashley/Lambias are forgetting that the players who have not been performing for the best part of three years, as a direct result of bad coaching and the players themselves being poor, have somehow managed to keep their place in the team, suddenly form and merit don't matter.
In conclusion, the gaffer should be picking players on merit, but when the gaffer resigns despite still sticking around and hasn't picked players on merit for god knows how long, he has no right to run to the papers putting us in a bad light.

Thought about this since I got in from work. Really pissed off with the situation. I want McCoist out and I want a board that's fucking capable, am I asking for that much? Really?
As for the future, I've read a lot of opinions on here and I agree with a few, I really think we need to support the team. Full ibrox and behind the players
However, this Saturday.... I really think we should stay away, let McCoist know he's not wanted, let the board know we're fed up with their inaction and constant mismanagement. After this Saturday, get back behind the team, whoever the manager, whoever the board.
