I'd imagine he would have got fed up being dropped for big games or not being picked for Scotland. I don't recall thinking he had a bad attitude. His biggest problem was the demise of 442 formation. He's a fantastic finisher, but not much use running into channel's. If you could swap him and McCoist era's, Ally would have the same criticism leveled at him, and Boyd would have been just as prolific as Ally was. Imo.

The bottom line is our squad is full of mediocre players. If everyone is fit and on form we have a decent team. We have no strength in depth though and when players aren't on it, they look poor. You can't polish a turd. We are in a better place than we were with McCoist, Warburton, Pedro and Murty. SG is moving us forward.

He won't lose his job because of one player or if that player is the captain. Tav shouldn't be the captain though and I'd be looking to replace him with better player.

Sunday is going to be very tough. Motherwell will sit deep, slow the game at every opportunity. The fans will get frustrated and the players will go through the motions. Our squad don't have the players to cope with that. They don't have the ability or the desire. Eventually one of the liabilities will make a school boy error and we'll drop more points.
