Today will be make or break for MW if he can't get a reaction from the players after midweek something is badly wrong at the club.
We'll find out today if the players really want Warbs as gaffer IMHO.
Defeat and for me he needs to be replaced asap.

I would really love to know what actually happened for Warburton to treat a player like this.
I just feel like it's been handled terribly by Warburton but if it was really that bad then fair play as it at least sets an example of it doesn't matter who you are, if you step out of line you're done. However it also sets out a statement to say one strike and you're out which is pretty poor.

The worry now is anyone going to be daft enough to take him off our in hands in January especially as he's only played a handful of games this season and will cost about 20k a week in wages.
Can't see many English clubs lining up to take a guy that's failed to cut the mustard in the pishy SPFL.
His only way out looks like a loan deal with Rangers probably footing most of his wages.
A ridiculous expensive mistake by the manager that we can ill aford right now.

People moan about MW not being given enough money?
Between Barton and Kranjcar near £120,000 a month is just going down the drain. Feck we could have signed a class striker on a Bosman and paid him these kind of wages.

Meh.....a pishy wee club that was relegated not once but twice and still never went down.
Never heard much chat about sporting integrity from that mob back then or when HBOS a bank who had to get a government bailout wiped out tens of millions of pounds of debt they had?
Does sporting integrity only count in certain circumstances?
They and the rest of the pishy SPFL really are hypocrites when it suits them.

Its so frustrating watching Rangers play these days. I know we're good enough to be tearing these teams apart but it just never seems to click.

    Same pish from Warbs,
    - A back 4 that's all over the place.
    - Poor team selection.
    - Aimless passing with zero end product.
    - Same tired formation that every team in the league knows how to counter.
FFS Kris Boyd of all people outruns our the whole back 4.

Why on earth did Warbs sign MOH and Dodoo? Just to sit on the bench and watch a 36 year old play it would seem.
That's 2 absolute sitters Miller has missed in as many games?

It's not one game in isolation this has been going on since the end of last season.
The same problems are not being addressed time and time again.
Opposition managers know how Rangers will play before a ball is kicked it's too predictable now.

I think that Ally is doing the best that he can.We have to get back into the top league as priority one and in order to do that we need to sign players such as Miller and hopefully Boyd to do so at the first time of asking and possibly be paying a bit too much out in wages etc but the aim of returning to the top justifies the cost at this time. There is just not enough money available to do everything at the same time, but feel we should have addressed scouting and youth development 2 years ago and got things started, as other teams have shown that good money can be generated for a club in onward transfer fees of players identified and signed up for relatively small sums or developed in house. Rangers have done really well to keep moving forward, given the obstacles and barriers they have faced and continue to do on a daily basis. I have nothing but respect for what Ally McCoist has achieved and honestly feel that we will look back in 10 years time and realise that he was the right man, a RANGERS man, who gave 100% for our club when it was needed.

The 'promising youth' will make it into the first team if they are good enough, e.g. Aird, McLeod, Gallagher etc. We're not going to win the Championship with a team of teenagers - we need, and have, youth and experience. We are Rangers, not Dundee Utd. We'll soon be sitting in our rightful place above them in the SPL.

Agreed Boyd scores goals and lots of them I can't see the problem with his signing.
Rangers could go out and spend £5m on a striker next season who might not even score 10 goals in the SPL. Boyd if fit is worth at least 25 goals a season every season for a lot less money than we paid guys like Salenko or Guivarch.
Is Clark good enough to score 50 goals over the next two seasons? Would very much doubt it myself.

Albertz 78 reacted to Carling1873 in European Commission seek explanation on Celtic land deals
Celtic representatives have been in Brussels as part of a preliminary investigation by the European Commission into land deals between Celtic and Glasgow City Council. The probe relates to question marks over the purchase of various plots of land, including their Lennoxtown training complex, which it has been alleged constitute State Aid.
In recent months, the European Commission Directorate General for Competition State Aid has announced several formal investigations into allegations of State Aid involving Spanish and Dutch clubs - including Barcelona, Real Madrid and PSV Eindhoven. The latest club to become embroiled in an investigation, over an arrangement with their local council regarding the Liberty Stadium, is Swansea City.
The situation with Celtic is not yet at the same stage as the Spanish and Dutch investigations, but preliminary meetings have been held and information has been requested by the European Commission. When contacted by the Rangers Standard, an EC spokesperson said:
"We have indeed received complaints about alleged aid in land deals between Glasgow and Celtic and we have requested and received detailed information from the UK authorities, lastly in December 2013."
"There is no legal deadline to conclude a State aid investigation; the duration depends on a number of factors, including the complexity of the case".
It is understood that both Celtic and Glasgow City Council are extremely concerned at the possibility of the preliminary investigation leading to the type of full investigation which has been initiated in respect of Spanish and Dutch clubs.
Celtic have purchased several plots of land from State organisations, which have historically been Labour controlled, at low prices. These include the purchase for only, £497,000, of the land their Lennoxtown training ground was built on. It is believed that the recent sale of London Road Primary School may also now fall under examination.
If you are interested in more forensic detail on the various purchases and valuations then you should visit the excellent http://footballtaxha...ase-for-the-eu/
The European Commission has wide ranging powers if there is found to have been a breach of the regulations. The Commission can require the Member State to recover the aid with interest from the beneficiary (in this case Celtic). This could lead to a potential bill of over £30m for Celtic, which would have to be repaid over a maximum period of ten years. Any finding of guilt would put pressure on the SFA to probe any sporting advantage that discounted deals brought. It may also fall foul of new UEFA Financial Fair Play regulations.
This news comes only a day after the announcement that the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) are to examine the conduct of Co-Op Bank officials over allegations of tie ins with the Labour Party.
Celtic, who can count former Labour Minister, John Reid and former Labour MP, Brian Wilson amongst their former and current directors, were the recipients of extremely favourable loan deals from the Co-Op Bank and those are almost certain to be examined as part of the investigation. It is believed that the State-owned land obtained by Celtic was used as security for these loans.
    http://www.thisismon...tball-Club.html
The European Commission probe is separate to this however and Celtic will potentially have to fight on two fronts to show that they have not been the beneficiaries of either State Aid or politically motivated, favourable loans secured against the land purchased. Last year Celtic employed a lawyer with litigation experience as their Company Secretary.
If anyone has any information regarding these allegations then please contact The Rangers Standard in confidence and we will incorporate it into any further enquiries.
