  1. I have not read the whole post and I don,t know if this point has been raised but BE VERY CAREFUL TONIGHT. The Scum have taken a hammering this week and they desperately need the spotlight shining somewhere else. We are being prepared like chickens for the pot. The club are not without friends and I would take their warning seriously. I am 1000% sure that the Odious Creep, Phil McGobblegiver and the rest of the good Doctors hordes will be sitting by their fax machines and Telephones tonight with the lines already opened to UEFA and the media. At the first note of TBB or TFS, the media will be flooded with faxes and e-mails complaining about the big bad Rangers supporters. Tomorrow morning the headlines will all be about us and Celtic will be the good guys. Mark my words, Celtic are on the ropes and like a dangerous animal there will be no mercy in their attempts to switch the spotlight to us. My biggest fear is that I have zero confidence in our lunatic fringe being intelligent enough not to walk into the trap being set for us. Paranoid? Possibly, but lets wait and see tomorrow.
  2. They are fucking scum to the highest degree. Any fuking cub could make a report about decisions against their team even us but we have infinitly more class than that shower of greetin bitter bastards. Those cunts are building themselves up for a massive fall and i for one cannot wait to see them suffer when it comes ============================================================================================================ I hope Rangers stay out of it and don,t let themselves get caught up in the witch hunt. I,m sure we wont, we have too much class for that. I have a theory though about all this. I feel the wheels are coming off "Brand Ireland" The whole Irish family have been playing the "victim card" for years and they have a good PR department. But I think they have overplayed their hand in the past year. Not just Celtic but the Irish government as well. It,s my belief that Europe has gotten wise to them and put the boot into them. We won,t hear the true story of this Euro bail for the Irish economy for some time but I,m willing to bet that (behind closed doors) the Irish government were told the facts of life. No more subsidies to buy Irish votes. No more hand outs when they play the "victim card". And its noticeable that UEFA have already refused to get involved with "Dougiegate". I think Celtics timing is disasterous and they will live to regret overplaying their hand.
  3. I imagine than about 150yrs. ago when Charles Dickens was writting his marvelous stories and creating those wonderful characters that he must have known someone like Spiers and thats where he got his idea for the character of Uriah Heep. Perhaps Spiers article would carry more credibility if he drew attention to the lie being repeated on the banner. No bloodstained poppy on the hoops. Really Graham???? During the negotiations for the Irish Peace process, one of the concessions demanded by, and granted to, the IRA was the release of prisoners. In spite of the obsessive campaign against the British army having a "Shoot to kill" policy, the government were able to release hundreds of IRA prisoners. How many prisoners did the IRA release, Graham??? How many prisoners did the IRA take during 25yrs. of fighting??? There are still bodies being discovered today that the IRA denied murdering at the time. No bloodstained poppies on the hoops, Graham? and no sense of shame in the ranks either.
  4. Gentlemen of the SPL management committee, To start this open letter off let me quote you a statement (not football related but bear with me). Last Christmas the 5 Church of England Archbishops said in their Christmas message ----- "New Labour is morally corrupt". What has this to do with you in the SPL? Two of the more unsavoury senior members of the New Labour inner circle are heavily involved in the affairs of a Glasgow Football team whose morallity has been questioned on many occasions. Coincidence? You tell me! I am not Scottish but I can remember when a small country like Scotland produced some of the best players and administrators in World football. The name SCOTLAND was writ large in those days. Compare then with now. Obviously money (or lack of it) has played a big part in the lowering of Scottish footballs reputation but money (or lack of it) is no excuse for the lack of moral fibre shown by Scotlands football administrators. Another OF game has been and gone but the weeping and wailing continues unabated. There has been a campaign of late (and it is gathering pace) to portray Scottish football as bigoted and biased against one club in particular.Obviously this only applies when they loose and is remarkably selective in what it sees but failure to address this issue will only serve to damage Scotlands reputation even further. This campaign starts in the week before an OF game and begins by calling for "strong referees". The clear intent is to draw the worlds allention to the "fact" that Scottish football is rotten and corrupt. This is you they are talking about. Your failure to challenge these claims in the past has led to the present situation that where constant repetition of these claims means large numbers of people will believe them to be true. In Sundays OF game,a Rangers player was seen to "sucker" a Celtic defender into a clumsy tackle and then he fell over to gain a penalty. "Unethical" some will shout and they would be right. "Cheating" will be the call of those more annoyed and they would be right as well. But all over the world every week thousands (perhaps Millions) will fall over to gain an advantage. This does not make it right, but does this justify the howls of outrage and moral indignation from Parkhead? Let me quote you a number of incidents over the past few years showing the actions and intent of these "moral guardians" of Scottish football. A few years ago during a season when Celtic were playing in a European trophy, some of the ex-professional pundits in the tv studio, were heard to draw attention to Celtics continual cheating during games. One pundit remarked "how often Chris Sutton gets himself into positions where he,s going to be fouled" On another occasion another professional expressed his annoyance at "Celtic continually playing for dead ball situations".(eg,. Free kicks and penalties) These were not incidents of an individual player conning the referee, but were clear demonstrations of Celtics team tactic of continually cheating for penalties etc,. All these dives and simulations were witnessed all over Europe but no one ever phoned the Irish Embassy to complain. No one demanded "clarification" of the Referees parentage. A few years ago Celtic demanded the cancellation of a game because "the club was in shock" over the death of a player who had played for the club many years earlier. It was surely coincidental, I imagine, that Celtic had a game against Rangers that weekend and one of their key players was under suspension and unable to play. By getting the game postponed to a later date Celtic were able to play their strongest team against Rangers. Incidently, the team the man did play for fulfilled their fixture that week and held a silence of respect for their player. A few months later a genuine Celtic legend died. Celtic could, and should, have cancelled thier game that week as a mark of respect, but by this time, Rangers were in the middle of a run which took them to a European cup final and led to a backlog of fixtures. The football world looked on in amazement as the SPL, at Celtics insistence, refused Rangers request for an extension. Celtic claimed to have a tour of the Far East arranged which could not be broken. The tour disappeared as quickly as the extension and the "integrity of the league" was maintained. No,realy. So now you can see why I quoted the message of the Archbishops regarding "morally corrupt" people and why Scotlands name is laughed at in world football. It might already be too late but failure to stop this rot now will surely cost SPL any little respect it might have left.
  5. The incident v. DU was adjudged to be the correct decision by Hugh Dallas but what is less publicised is the fact that Dermot Gallagher (retired EPL referee) also cleared it as the correct decision on SSN on Monday morning. So we have two experiemced international referees both judging that changing the disputed penalty to be the correct decision. It appears that we can add Dermot Gallagher and Sky Sports to the list of sectarian organisations who are biased against Celtic. Seriously though, my fear is that this Celtic "victimhood" is a sympton of a serious illness. Not just in the football sense but it is shown up in Northern Ireland almost on a dailly basis. They have no interest in anything except their own fantasies. Over the years certain politicians and media reporters have tended to grant them their bigotries for a quiet life thinking that would keep them happy. Too late we are finding that has simply encouraged them to push even more for more concessions, more decisions, more restrictions on everyone else. The bandwagon is out of control and with people like Lennon and Reid at the helm there is no sign of it coming under control anytime soon. I honestly fear for the future of Scottish football. It is laready somewhat of a joke in World terms and indulging Celtics fantasies is only going to make it worse.
  6. I,m another of the part timers who can,t afford to go to many matches so its easy to pontificate but----- Isn,t going to DU the same as the "dignified silence" everyone wants the club to fight back against?
  7. We were here before you and we welcomed you from far, there's nothing you can do to stem the tide. So Celtic when you get to feeling bigger than you are, Remember who we are and remember how we died. We come from every country and from every walk of life, We sing in praise of Rangers in times of doubt and strife. We maintain our love of duty, of truth and honour blest. And thats the reason, Celtic, why you're always second best. We died in Flanders poppies red, who will forget that scene, We were murdered foul in South Armagh fighting for our Queen. We also died in peaceful times as we have oft times seen As we follow followed Rangers on the steps of stair 13. Men like big Jock Wallace, Willie Thornton, Waddell too, Men like Shearer and slim Jim, proud to wear the blue. They're always our reminder, as we parry every blow, that we're living in a world of truth that you will never know. We've had our share of tears and joy, we've had our share of pain, As we wept our tears for those gone on who we'll never see again. but as our ranks are thinned by death, this we will maintain, they'll be honoured on the football field, for we'll still play the game. Are you listening, Glasgow Celtic, as you chant your songs of shame, How you're the only innocents, the others are to blame. how singing IRA songs is just a song in jest of childrens lives and soldiers wives, thats why you're second best. So think on these things, Celtic, on every word and letter. Do your lying tongues and poison minds make you feel much better. We're the Glasgow Rangers, still meeting every test. You're the Glasgow Celtic, and you're still second best. ============================================================================================================ Thanks M8, its so long ago I,d forgotten writting that one. What I would like to see Rangers do is to show the clip from UTV news last night on the Popes visit. They showed the crowd walking past Ibrox on the way to the venue and highlighted the fact it was Rangers ground they were passing. Some one should draw attention to the fact that this is what happens in a normal tolerant society, where people can practice their faith and culture without hindrance. Then compare those scenes at Ibrox and Bellahouston with the scenes on tv when Protestants in Ireland want to practice their faith and want to pass the Ardoyne shops. I,m sure some people saw and noted the different response, but the point should/must be highlighted and publicised by Rangers officials themselves.
  8. There are a number of reasons I would like us to stay clear of this one. A British league is inevitable someday (imo) But a European super league will come first (imo) When the European super league is developed, Clubs like ManU,ManCity,Arsenal,Chelsea etc,.will be invited to join. The present EPL will then become a second tier league along with Serie A, Bundesliga etc,. The European giants will cream off the real money and the various domestic leagues will become the feeders. Rangers (and Celtic, but who gives a feck about them)will then be outside the big boys and tootling along in second gear with not much chance of ever moving up. It sounds crazy to think of Serie A etc,. becoming second tier, but the foreign millionaires who own the big clubs will not want to be playing in a domestic league. Domestic leagues will be for the also rans. I want Rangers at the top table not prostituting the club (like Celtic)to try and sell a few jerseys. This is only a side issue but we hear Celtic supporters singing every week about getting the English out of Ireland. McGeady wants to be Irish but wants to be brought up in Britain. If they hate the English so much you would expect them to join the League of Ireland not the EPL. Trouble is they will go anywhere as long as someone pays them but they will bring their hatreds with them. If we are in the same league as them we will be tarred with their brush. DISCUSS
  9. There are two types of signing. There are players a manager openly pursues and there are loan signing a manager is offered. Walter chose Weiss and turned down Welcome. Lemon chose Mulgrew and turned down Weiss (according to numerous Timmies) Doesn,t say a lot for the Lemons knowledge of football.
  10. Belfast. Northern Ireland. Met my wife from America and we moved to South Africa. Returned home to Ulster because it seemed like a good idea at the time.
  11. I don,t have the technical skills to do it myself, but could someone not make a "hard copy" of the video and send it with a commentary letter to Dr. Reid asking for action to be taken. If it was posted as recorded delivery then we would have proof that it had been received. That way Celtic can not bury it or refuse to acknowledge it. If Celtic did try to bury it, we would have the perfect evidence against them. I,m sure someone in the mainstream media would highlight the fact that Celtic had tried to hide the evidence.
  12. I think I,ve got most of the players except the very first and last at the very back. Is that Bobby Hume talking to Scot Symon? I,m sure thats Jimmy Millar scratching his gonads. Big Harold Davis with the towel around his neck and Alex Scott and Ian McMillan framing his head. The trainer is Davy Kinnear working on Caldows leg.
  13. [quote name='warden90' date='03 August Hope we get him. If Welcome impresses, should we sign them both? ============================================================== I like that idea. Welcome sounds like a big bustler of a player. Charging into defenders and generally causing disruption and panic while Jelavic and Miller/Lafferty(?) sniff for the chances. It sounds good on paper anyway.
  14. name='bluepeter' date='29 July 2010 - Always cheated, never defeated... =============================================================== We should be glad they keep coming out with this vomit every time they loose. I,m sure it is noticed and filed away for reference by every football fan in the UK. Obviously the English don,t comment on it as much as we do, but I am sure it is remembered. Eventually someone in the national media will draw attention to their paranoia and there will be loadsa evidence to back it up. Just think, last year Reid claimed to have a dossier listing all the games in which they were cheated. McNeil claimed the bias and cheating had been going on for years and years. Every timmy squeals "bias, bigotry, cheating" every time they fail to win something. "The Establishment are aganst us.". But then ,just like this year, the Sellik media are talking up the great manager they have recruited and the world class superstars they have signed and how they are going to sweep all before them this year. It never dawns on them that if the paranoia and crying are true, then it doesn,t matter who they sign or what a wonderful club they are, the Establishment will still ensure they don,t win. So either their claims of prejudice and cheating are true in which case they are being taken for mugs every year or else their heads are so far up their own asses they wallow in their victimhood because it avoids them taking any responsibility for their failures.
  15. Great post Minstral, Tell it like it is, not as Timmy wants it to be. We,re in the sh1t,no doubt, but how well off is Cletic? We spent millions under Advocaat chasing the European dream. Celtic are spending millions now just to win the SPL. Thats the difference between the two clubs, even our debts are better than theirs. Second best all the time, thats the scum. Like everybody else, I worry about Murray and the things we don,t know about. I know the SPL is 2nd. rate and we can,t get the same cash as even championship clubs, but when Rangers took 200,000 to Manchester it must have been noted somewhere. Clubs like Portsmouth are hundreds of millions in debt and they are not the only clubs with more debt than us, and yet they,re all still in business. Nobody seems interested in us. Why? What does every business man and his dog know that we don,t? Why will nobody touch us/Murray with a barge pole? That worries me more than Celtic.
  16. I would rather have Thommo playing for us than against us, but "needs must". We are reasonably well covered in midfield and if Thommos money gets us a wide player like Eagles then I think we come out of it better off. And I dont think Walter is finished yet.
  17. I,ve tried uploading an article from todays Sunday Times but it has not turned out well. Perhaps someone with more computer experience might have more luck. It is an article about the Taxman investigating various British football clubs which are owned by off shore companies and have used a loophole to avoid paying tax. The article mentions two Scottish clubs being looked at but only one club (Hearts) are named in the article I,m reasonably sure that Rangers are not owned/controlled by a foreign company but the article goes to to mention the practice of clubs using these off shore HQ,s to avoid employees paying tax on image rights income. I have tried scanning and uploading the article but it is too big to load.I would imagine that although we are not named, this article sounds like the investigation we are facing. Perhaps someone cleverer than me can upload the article direct from ST site and see what other RM members think about it. The other clubs named are :- Blackburn, Fulham, Birmingham, Spurs, Wolves, Portsmouth, Sunderland, Ipswich and Hartlepool. A senior tax partner at Grant Thornton said:- " The growing number of clubs owned through tax havens partially reflects just how attractive British football clubs have become as investment opportunities. British football clubs are important to the UK economy and it would be unwise for the government to do anything to jeopardise that". All the clubs mentioned in the article, including ManU, are owned/ controlled through foreign companies but the details are similar enough to Rangers situation that I wold be surprised if we were not the unnamed Scottish club.
  18. My view of the McGeady incident was different from Dougals. He says McGeady took evasive action? My view was that McGeady jumped the tackle and then went down after. Not the same thing Stuart. McGeady was right to take evasive action but he is a cheat for going down after he was clear. Anyone else see it that way?
  19. Not really the same event but topical anyway. In sundays newspaper there was a report of a game in the Croatian 5th. Div. in which a player was shown a yellow card for diving. The ref. then discovered that the poor bas**rd had died and keeled over. If the next person to tackle McGeady decides that he will be shown a red anyway, he may as well earn the card and take McGeady off at the knees. I will expect Dougal to accept it as part and parcel of the game as well.
  20. SPL Champions------------ Rangers CIS cup winners-----------Rangers Manager of the year-------Walter Smith Player of the year--------Stephen Davis Young player of the year- Danny Wilson Most goals scored---------Rangers Least goals conceded------Rangers It all tastes like cinders in my mouth cos, we,re not a good as Clet*t. Oh the pain, the pain.
  21. A good way to check if there is any "agenda" attached to the match, is to ask Clet*c to play the match somewhere else. If they refuse to play anywhere but Boston then you would have to think that its a set-up. We would be giving the "Irish" media the chance for a Clet*c love-in at our expense.
  22. I voted no. To be honest, I would not expect any trouble at the game but I firmly believe the occasion would be used as a PR victory for the Tims. The article gives a flavour of what we could expect from an IRA sympathysers city. Anything that could be spun would be spun to put us in a bad light.
