  1. We need to chant Boyd's name from the stands. Got any songs about him?
  2. To be honest it's a win-win situation for us. If we go out we can concentrate on bringing home the league.
  3. This all reminds me of Boumsong. Had a great half season with us and most of us were gutted at the idea of him leaving. But it turned out to be a great move on our part.
  4. We have to go there and play to get a goal. 4-5-1 it is then. Seriously though, score once and then we can defend our lead. Stick to what we're good at. We're good at defending.
  5. I was thinking the same thing tonight. Someone who can win the ball in the air and bring it down to the man in the middle, like Celtic excelled at with Sutton/Hartson/Larsson. That said. I think I only saw Lee win one ball that got put in a useful spot tonight.
  6. Interesting point there minstral. It's something to ponder for all you who spend lots of money going to the games. Do you want to be entertained or would you rather have mundane games that bring success at the end? Of course most true fans would much rather see the success, but what does that bring us individually apart from bragging rights against them? The players, Walter and all the coaching staff get the firm sense of achievement from their active role bringing the goods.
  7. Okay there's plenty of positives. 1 Goal away could quite easily see us through, which might be easier with Cousin back to provide a bit more threat. And they looked fairly shite tonight too so there's no need to be too scared.
  8. That's a great point there. La Liga is every bit as good as the Premiership possibly better, although Osasuna aren't really one of the big players. He obviously came to us with the belief that he could win things, and our run in the UEFA cup so far proves just that. Moving to a Premiership club would be a step down unless it's one of the big 4 or maybe Everton or Tottenham, who look set for a good next season. We shouldn't worry about Newcastle's interest! But maybe we should worry about Bain and Murray's persuasion when the pound signs flash in their eyes... *cough*
  9. With the UEFA cup we've got a bit more exposure than normal with the extra tv games but we're really not doing much to increase our fanbase with these performances. Casual fans like to tune in to watch matches for a bit of excitement and their affiliation with the club starts there, but if anyone was watching the Gers for the first time tonight I don't think we'll be seeing them again. It's just as well football is a loyalty based sport. If spectators went out to pay money for random games for the purposes of entertainment (like cinema for comparison) not many would bother with the £40 Jadams spoke about.
  10. How much longer does his contract last?
  11. How much faith do you think Walter has in the players in our squad, outside of the regular starting 11? 1 substitution tonight but even Stevie Wonder could see a handful of our players were crawling and needed hooked. Surely fresh legs are better than a non-existent player? Or are the players on the bench really that bad? I thought even Charlie Adam would have been a worthwhile addition in the last 20 minutes. And did anyone see Lee McCulloch in the 2nd half?
  12. Carlos for me but McGregor would also be worthy. I'll be extremely surprised if it's not McGeady though
  13. Naismith looked awful when he came on
  14. We still have each of the remaining top 4 teams to play twice each. Not to mention Aberdeen and Hibs away. I don't know what fixtures Celtic have left but it couldn't possibly be as difficult as ours. The key is clearly to get at least a draw in both games at Celtic Park. Not to mention our European ties to throw into the mix and make it just a little bit more difficult. But we are
  15. Let me hold my hand up and admit I thought we got the wrong player!
  16. MacGregor and Thomson are players of heart and I don't see them moving on anywhere quickly. Cuellar might unfortunately prove a little difficult to keep hold of. I really really hope we can hang on to him though. And I think Davis would be keen on a permanent move here, it just depends on whether we'll have enough cash to offer.
  17. I've been watching the replays in the highlights thread, and definitely looks like a clear dive to me. If that'd been a Celtic player I'd have been screaming for a second yellow... but he's a Ger, and MOTM for most of us so let's just hope he's back soon.
  18. I was just thinking of posting about Thomson's yellow. WTF was that all about? Apart from that I thought he had a good game though.
  19. Thomson, Davis, Cuellar... either of them, take your pick. Thomson's goal won us the match so he deserves MOTM I think.
  20. He was looking for it. I thought he was gonna get another yellow actually. It'll be an embarrassment if he's injured for long.
  21. Can't believe how many times they mentioned Scott Brown's "penalty" Scott Brown didn't even claim for one!!
  22. Thank you Gordon for playing two expensive diddy strikers instead of your top scorer!
  23. Well done to Broadfoot! I gotta admit I was a little bit concerned before the match but he kept McGeady quiet.
