I thought he did really well with his players - good discipline, getting them to pass the ball about - much better than we could, and the guy that was sent off accepted his punishment without arguing and yelling at the ref. Showed respect. I wish them luck this year, just not against us.
Just because there are some folk at every club who like to throw their hatred about, doesn't mean they're all like that. I respect the respectful and can give stick back to the doughballs when necessary.

I think we will win comfortably on Tuesday, we didn't play that badly yesterday and two stupid mistakes cost us against a team that should be playing EPL football. I've always defended Moshni but to be honest he shouldn't be in the side ever again, CB pairing for Tuesday has to be big Zal and Mcgregor and though he may not be the best, Foster is our best right back at the moment so has to play in my opinion.

I don't think myself, BP or legalbeagle have said everything is rosy in the garden. I certainly haven't. Yes, it would be nice to see some lovely football more regularly and there are most definitely better managers out there than McCoist but unless McCoist fails at what he is asked of him then he won't get sacked. To this moment he hasn't. The club want progression through the leagues as quickly as possible. McCoist is on course to achieve that.

Me I have had a season ticket for 27 years been following longer - yes this is the worst team in that 27 years, yes its the poorest squad we have ever had - but I do NOT blame Ally for that. It is the lowest budget an Rangers Manager has every had - with players playing in the lowest leagues we have ever had to endure, While Ally's budget is more than others he has build a decent squad for that money and taken us two very important steps back to where we should be and will deliver again this year! Our performances are no where near as dire as doom merchants make out (nor as great as we all want them to be) but with an average of 2.5 goals per game MORE that our league opposition we are nowhere near as dull as some folk want.
I probably just have realistic expectations for what can be done and Ally is delivering against that. If he starts to falter in the leagues even I will be looking to replace him but until that time i choose to back him!

A 5 man backline and Jig in midfield is so ridiculous it really worries me.

I think he has signed only 2 ex players. That's hardly "primarily". And they're both excellent goal scorers.

If the young players are good enough they will start every game, but they're not, with a couple of exceptions. All this talk about not playing the U21's when in Div 3 is bollocks. McCoist's #1 priority is getting back to the top ASAP, and he's doing just that.
The Championship will bring out the best in the team as they'll be up against better opposition. If we fail to get promoted then you can start moaning about McCoist again.
I'd rather get to the top again in 3 years, like we're doing, than play a bunch of inexperienced young guys and risk not getting promoted at all. And I'd bet every Rangers fan feels the same way.

Youth has been scrapped? Aird and Macleod have shown if you're good enough you will play. It's not just ally making short term signings to get over certain hurdles. The board need it as well as there's no contingency plan should we fail to go up. The club needs to get out of the championship at the first attempt.

The 'promising youth' will make it into the first team if they are good enough, e.g. Aird, McLeod, Gallagher etc. We're not going to win the Championship with a team of teenagers - we need, and have, youth and experience. We are Rangers, not Dundee Utd. We'll soon be sitting in our rightful place above them in the SPL.

AFAIK he's on a two year deal, so not as if he's going to cost a fortune, seemingly he was prepared to take a 1 year deal, but Ally's a nice guy and gave him two.
Wether it's a good deal or not I've no idea but we must get back into the premier league next season and we need goal scorers, the young boys time will come
