Can still see big Mark as calm as you like after that superb goal. What a night. -
Bbc Refused To Act Of Rangers Bias
Wullies_bowly_legs replied to eskbankloyal's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Excellent news that Britney especially has been banned, but has McLaughlin been banned because he lied, just hates us or supported the old board? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to see the back of him but it should not be due to his support of the old board. There is always room for frank discussion, differences of opinion and opposing views as long as no lies are told with the intention of damaging our club. Just have to wait and see what happens the next time the DR prints its next biased, negative or just untrue story about us. -
Certainly no way to predict what happens next. Makes it really interesting as Anderson said England would have batted if they won the toss so a bullet dodged. Bell looked back to something like form then does that. Although Nathan Lyon has a habit of springing the odd surprise. Maybe he has learned something from Warne.

Stubbs - "that Wasn't A 6-2 Game"
Wullies_bowly_legs replied to G.E.C.'s topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Some seriously good goals there. Cracking free kick, superb shots and great build up play for tap ins. MW has me a bit worried though, what is this talking to players on the side lines, giving instructions, handing out water etc. wonder if he hurt his elbows so was unable to stand with his arms folded. -
Congratulations To The Board
Wullies_bowly_legs replied to Bigsasasfloppyhair 's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Sadly have to agree with this 100%. MW and DW coming in seem to be the only real positive so far. We will know tonight how much of a positive it is but going by the comments coming out of the club the changes in training and attitude seem to be night and day compared to last season. Not going to be negative towards the board but am not going to be giving them a round of applause either........... not yet anyway. -
A player you always wanted in your team. A player the opposition did not want to see on the park against them. As said already players like Laudrup etc were give the freedom to play because guys like Ferguson and McCall covered every blade of grass on the park, was as hard as nails and not given enough credit for his reading of a game. Always was moved onto the oppositions most creative player for his ability to neutralise them - by any means possible. Remember him when Gazza played for think it was Spurs? The scum really hated him so you know he was good.

Summary Of Tonights Game
Wullies_bowly_legs replied to Frank Reynolds's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
No nibbles so far. Looks and sounds like another great performance. Maybe a few will appear in the first team squad after this and as already mentioned hope Durranty get to stay on the journey with MW. -
Make sure the bus is locked, pockets buttoned up and nothing left lying about. They can steal the tryres off a car when its still moving in Rosneath. Also well known for the supply of questionable substances. The Games are good fun though and if you get the weather it can be a great event. It's not that bad really, I live nearby.

Lee Mcculloch In Frame For Rangers Coaching Role?oj
Wullies_bowly_legs replied to AlCapone's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
It isa difficult one. Never doubted LM commitment to the club and his problems over the last couple of years maybe down to his age and the tactics and coaching that was in place. That is where I think there would be a problem. LM was associated with all of that and was captain of the team so my worry would be could he change and would his coaching style be totally different from AM. He has no experience as a coach so I would worry his most recent knowledge of coaching would come from the AM book of tactics which would fit on a bus ticket. So as with others, let him go out and learn his trade with smaller clubs and if a success nothing to stop him coming back to the club then. -
Favourite Captain Since Mid 1980's
Wullies_bowly_legs replied to NorthUistBear's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
What a left hand side that was. Caldow, Provan, Mathieson left backs,Jim Baxter then Dave Smith in midfield, and Davie Wilson, Orjan Persson and Willie Johnston on the wing. And that was the weaker side.!!!! -

Well you learn all the time. I started watching just as Caldow broke his leg and remember my father going on about him switching to left back so thought it had happened after that. I remember Willie Mathieson coming into the team at that point so he must have replaced Caldow at that point. So many good players back then and thats not through rose tinted specs. -

Caldow was certainly some player and probably would have been an even greater legend if not for that tackle playing for Scotland. Always wondered if that was why he switched to left back when he returned to the team. A great player. Only reason I took Butcher over Gough is their leadership. Big Tel was in charge on the park and everyone knew it. Woe betide any player stepping out of line. Gough I felt never had that aura about him as he seemed quieter on the park. Just personal choice though. -

Favourite was Amo as he was hilarious at times, but the best of that era was Butcher. Everything came out from the back through him, could ping a pass to feet, rarely lost a header and was a real captain. Probably why he was captain of England. Trouble is I started watching Rangers in the 60's when a certain Mr Greig was ruling the Ibrox turf, so not many can compare. -
Good to hear a player that understands how the fans are feeling. I liked him when he first arrived and think we might see a big improvement this season as he never got a chance to settle in one postion or have the same CB playing alongside him. Always think the 2 CB's should be a hard man with a ball player and Darren is certainly not scared of a tackle.

Willie Henderson Gets Torn Into Mccoist
Wullies_bowly_legs replied to OlegKuznetsov's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Willie Henderson has always been my favourite player and he has never been afraid to speak up for the good of the club. Ally should take note of how a true legend behaves. -
I get the feeling we are not going to be hearing about Wrong grass Too windy Etc etc this season. Cannot wait for the start of the season to see what the lineup and the formation will be.

Great player, tough but fair and led by example. A player that was ranked for me alongside Greig, Ronnie McKinnon, Sandy etc. Bloody awful haircut though.

Spfl Reaction To Fir Park Play-Off Pitch Invasion Etc
Wullies_bowly_legs replied to DMax399's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Still what an embarrassment for the scummy 'well that Bilel basically took on most of their team on his own. What a sweet punch it was, the only highlight of the day. Nothing will be done to them, same old, same old. -
My favourite was Ian F. But remember Terry Hurlock. The most intelligent we had was Hemdani but for a combined skillful player/enforcer wehad one of the best. Souness.

Good post m8. Think the difference with Henderson is he took terrible stick but still went back for more. Always remember against Dunfermilne once the full back kept hacking him down but Willie just kept going at him until the guy got sent off. He had a minder as well, a certain Mr JG who not many messed with. They joined a year apart and covered that right side for us for 10 years. Bloody hell, I really miss these days.

McMaster was there but I'm getting mixed up with Young as there was another Neil Cooper (not Neale Cooper who was later). Old age does me no favours .
