As can be guessed from my avatar Wee Wullie Henderson was my favourite and McLean was a pale imitation. As some say a great crosser and dead ball specialist but was a total crapper when it came to any rough ( or not even so rough) stuff. Could easily be put out a game early on as he would not be up to it after a hefty challenge and would disappear from the game. Always remember Miller and Cooper from the sheep took turns at sorting him out.

Expectation Vs Reality About Next Season

Agree with this but winning the league at first time of asking will be down to the players he can bring in. If there is cash less or equal to what other teams (eg Hibs) have, then we may struggle as could be seen this year. Only reason I say this is because he has not even the shell of a team just now and needs both quantity as well as some quality. Although no way we want to go back to the overspending days. Because of this I would be willing to give him plenty leeway in his first season. -
If they did it would have been a good few years ago when McCulloch would have been a bit more mobile than he is now. Now Lee is as slow as a slow tortoise with a limp and badly fitting shoes.

Just looking again at that picture and there are six Motherwell players involved or on their way to being involved. One Rangers player is heading over and Law and McCulloch (the captain) are standing far away just looking on. Poor.
-
Good for them, the others should be ashamed. Don't mean they have to go in swinging but at least get in amongst it.
-
Where are his teamates to help him. Poor by the other Rangers players, should always stand up for your own.

How times have changed. Remember in the 60's at a game with my old man, think against Dunfermilne. Cross came in, Norrie Martin went up for it and went down in a heap. In went Greigy and my old man said 'Watch this'. Big stramash and when it all breaks up the opposition centre forward is spark out on the ground after JG gubbed him. No booking, not even a foul. It was great!!!! Daft by Bilel but respect for having the balls to to do it and the sense to do it after the game was over. If he was here next season no-one would push him in the back.

Trouble is I can remember myself and others saying nearly exactly the same thing a year ago. If the Board etc think it will be easy we will get stuffed again. We should be better than the rest with our club, traditions, support and most importantly cash. But it was not enough this season. This is why we need action, cash, plans, leadership etc now. Not next week, next month. Now.
-
Well that's the last excuse for action/cash gone as in what league we are in, FAPP test etc so whats the way forward now DK. He has been playing for time since the EGM so we might find out why now.

Problem is the result of staying in this league will put a lot of suitable managers off coming. Some serious thinking and action required by the board now. I'll say it again - now.

Totally disagree. There would not be one Motherwell player fancying it today if Ferguson was playing. Knew how to get under their skin, knew how to scare the shit out of them and then how to put them on their arse. Remember him and McCall hunting the bheasts in midfield where if they got past one they never got past the second. -

Too many hiding, players in the wrong place either the fault of tactics or poor discipline and still think we could get a lot more out of certain high paid players. Trying to remember if Law has ever had a good game for us yet he always seems to be in the team. We all agree Foster can't play a decent pass especially in the opposition half but has probably the best pace in the team so why not use him as a sweeper if we do not play a holding midfielder. Does not matter what formation we play as the midfield just seem to wander about all over the bloody place and the points about the types of balls to Boyd or Clark from the OP are spot on. Only thing we can hope for is Motherwell have a nose bleed being so close and we get an early goal. The manager has to go for it now and play wingers not overlapping full backs with 2 in the middle that can at least head the ball. Boyd and Moshni anyone - scares me so might scare Motherwell. -
Understand his point as they have players that have played for the scum and other teams so wont be worried by the atmosphere. Only thing I feel will make a difference is they are on a real downward spiral for the last while but we are on the up. Bookies only making us evens for the game with them at 3/1 so they are expecting a close one.

Mccoist Deserves Credit If Rangers Go Up
Wullies_bowly_legs replied to Frank Reynolds's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Bit of a mixed bag regarding Ally staying when we went into admin. Everyone who says how great it was he stayed ask yourself a couple of questions. Would anyone else have offered him a job managing after the first season he just had as a manager. Would he have got paid the amount he did at Rangers plus the shares for a penny scheme. Would it be a done deal for him to go back into media as he had been replaced in the jobs he had previously so maybe that option wasn't available. Who knows apart from Ally. -
Your Knowledge Of Old Rangers Teams
Wullies_bowly_legs replied to Thermopylae's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Oh memories. Davie was in the team when I first started watching Rangers on the left wing with Willie Henderson on the right. What a nightmare for full backs He was a great player both tricky and fast. Then he was replaced by Orjan Persson - only guy I've seen score from a corner and mean it. -

I actually think its hilarious. Every time they try someone or something else to prove we are a new club, they get kicked in the face all over again. They must love the humiliation of being wrong all the time, but not a problem for much longer as they are running out of organisations to approach. What a bunch of sad, deluded, brain addled, moronic clowns. -

Anyone know for sure if McGregor will be back for the Well game. He makes a huge difference in the back line with his strength and tough tackling. Plus it'll keep Jig out -
You know that thread title of one word 'Petrie' brought a smile to my face and bet I'm not alone.

What Do We Know About Motherwell?
Wullies_bowly_legs replied to G.E.C.'s topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Dalziell was saying today that they are a far better side than Hibs. Plenty of players with experience like McDonald, Pearson, Lasley, McManus etc. Don't know what Pascoes opinion is though.
