  1. You have to ask why he was picked apart from the saving money option. I'm pretty sure if he told the board he would carry on the same as Ally he would not have got the job. He has to have outlined a way forward that will hopefully get us improving. The guy has nothing to lose and a lot to gain. He knows the football has been shit and it has to change and I'm sure he'll try going by his previous before Ally.
  2. I don't hate Ally but in this instance he is actively harming the club by his stance. Whilst he is still manager we cannot employ a new man to fill the position. Whilst he is still manager we cannot afford to employ a new man for the position. The alternatives are Gardening leave which we cant afford as we would have to pay two salaries. (I assume we cant afford it) Dismissal which he has put a spoke in the wheel by resigning first so putting himself in a stronger position. He walks. This does not have to be an all or nothing as he could agree to abide by an arbitration settlement by leaving now but on no cash until it is resolved, or to defer his payoff until the club can pay. The Board only have the option to pay up now to get rid, keep employing him or sack him and take their chances (would not be good). So basically Ally has the choice to help the club he loves by walking with nothing, taking a deferred payoff or accepting a reduced amount the club can afford. To me this will show how much of what has been said by him is true, or is just playing to the fans and media bullshit.
  3. Sorry but a confidentiality clause is not a reason. He is guaranteed his money if he stays. He is guaranteed his money if the Board pay him off. If he has not signed a confidentiality clause at the beginning of his contract he can say what he wants now without fear of reprisal if it is the truth. The only reason a confidentiality clause could be applicable is if Ally wants even more money to sign one. Kerching!!
  4. Wouldn't get your hopes up. AM will be gone sooner rather than later once the AGM is done and dusted.
  5. Sorry but there is no question about the Board having anything to do with Ally leaving immediately. If Ally wants to go without a payoff he is free to do so. I am trying to think of any case in history where a manager would be forced to stay in a job which he doesn't want to and he is useless at. Just what any business wants, to keep a dissatisfied employee by threatening to sue him. As nearly everyone has said, sadly it is all about how much he wants in his pocket.
  6. Yep agree with that. He stood to lose nothing if BTC went against us but to gain massively when it didn't. Unfortunately for him he didn't have the readies to keep us going when we went out of Europe. Otherwise who knows ???
  7. The other point I forgot to say is if Ally wanted what is best for the club he would just have walked, no need for all the cloak and dagger bs. Why would the Board put themselves under pressure by releasing the info. Only one person benefits by this being out in the open and he is the one not having to resolve the situation.
  8. As I said earlier in another post, whilst negotiations are going on they cannot comment (either Ally or the Board) as it could compromise their position. As soon as the deal is struck the statements will be made. This clusterfuck has come about because someone released the fact AM had offered to resign. That someone knew the release of that news item would put immense pressure on the Board to act and resolve the situation as quickly as possible. Now you have to ask yourself who has inside knowledge of the media, who gains by the Board being pressured into doing a deal as quickly as possible and finally who has a history of money being important to them. As a clue I don't think its SE, JE or MA. This behaviour ( if I'm correct) is despicable, disgraceful and a kick in the teeth to Rangers and all the loyal and supportive fans.
  9. Probably the opposite as we might get a manager in that can plan, motivate the team and give the club a shot in the arm. Bit like we were pissed off when Mowbray left as he was soooooooo bad
  10. Love everyone running about here with He did - He Didnt, he's gone now - in a year etc. Board are spivs, gits, Ally oot etc. More is being said because nothing is being said. If he had walked the Board would have made a statement thanking him etc. They haven't so any money says they are in negotiation right now as in how much they have to pay him to go now. There will be no statement until it is all sorted.
  11. Reason was mentioned why it had to be pulled earlier in the thread. I think that whoever put the statement out has played a blinder as they put out what they wanted to to stick it to baldy, then have said oops sorry we'll change it now. But everyone still printing the original statement which gets it right up them. We said what we wanted, proved we were right as we got the money and have now withdrawn the part commenting on content of the hearing which is not allowed. Scumdee are raging which tells you who won the PR battle.
  12. Buy a load at 6.99, dye them red and black, sell them for 30 quid with of course an unknown amount going in to the back pocket, oops sorry I meant to say buy cards and shares... And jobs a good'un.
  13. Trying to be funny or sarcastic about it might have worked in your support of Ally if we hadn't had the absolute horror show of his European results in his first season in charge of us.
  14. Pretty stalkerish behaviour there. But i'm sure you will be able to enlighten us as to the best way forward regarding the Board, the Manager and the investment we need.
  15. Agree but now the media have started running with the "Ally under pressure" stories we can only hope the pressure builds. Some folks maybe don't realise how serious this is now. Whether you are pro or anti Ally, the crowds are dropping drastically and putting us as a viable operation or future purchase in serious doubt. Nothing will change if Ally stays, even if he wins like today at Cowdenbeath. It has gone too far for him now and he will never win round the anti-Ally fans. How many will come back when we are scraping by with results like this today. The only way the supporters will start to come back is if a new man comes in and creates the interest that usually ensues when that happens. This is not an anti-Ally post, it is my realistic feeling about the situation as it stands just now.
  16. I actually think the article was written with the consent of Ally. "Walking away" because the family members are getting affected is probably the only reason that would stop all the crap from both our own and other club supporters. I think he is preparing his means to get out without getting more stick from everyone. Imho.
  17. So much wrong with that. Trusts them enough for a backlash, but can't trust them to do the job right in the first place. Not really worth saying any more.
  18. When people say it is our worst result I have to disagree. Maybe our most embarrassing though. For me the worst was Berwick Rangers. Luckily I didn't go to that game as my father was working and as he said we wouldn't be missing anything as we would win easily. Think you have to be of that age to remember the actual shock of hearing that result on the radio. This was a huge shock and folk talked about it for weeks. Bit of an Elvis dying moment as I remember exactly where I was when I heard 1-0.
  19. Cannot believe we still have everyone back at corners. Watching it last night and when our defence gets a good header out, the opposing player it goes to is under no pressure to look up and ping a ball back into the box before we have had a chance to reorganise. Every Bloody Time!!!!
  20. Yep me too. Was waiting for them to score and when I told the wife they'd won she said a few years ago I'd have been going crazy but was just shaking my head. How far we've fallen.
  21. Sad to say but if Ally is a Rangers man then why not do the honourable thing and walk. Just shows what a class act PLG was. It wasn't working so he walked and didn't want a penny. Never bad mouthed the club or players although a couple of the players deserved it. Ally are you listening???
  22. As we were the same club there was no choice. Tupe had to be offered. The only way not to do it would have been to dissolve the club and start as a new one and no-one would have accepted that.
  23. The whole point of a good defence is the right players in the right position and then sticking with them. Look at Arsenal under George Graham using Dixon, Adams, Keown and Winterbottom with Bould I think it was in reserve. Individually not brilliant but together they worked. First time I saw McGregor for us I was impressed by his strength even though he was playing at right back and you could see it didnt suit him. The winger that night was on the end of a couple of hefty challenges and then disappeared from the game. When he moved into CB you could see he was comfortable and the back four looked as if they knew what they were doing. If they had been kept together in these positions they could only have got better. But he pulls our right back to left back and the CB to right back. So now we have two players out of positionand we expect them to work?? Sorry Ally but that defeat was totally down to you.
