  1. Absolutely on the money mate. I think his post match interview showed the signs that he realises he needs to turn this around and quickly, it's no longer about taking positives from a defeat or draw it's about 3 points on the board first and foremost, the performance is actually secondary and will come good if you win enough to get the confidence levels up again.
  2. Crosses from deep from full backs and crosses from the byeline by the wingers and I think he'll get some goals. Play him alongside another striker in a front 2 and I think he'd get 20 in a season.
  3. Go through the middle or crosses from deep* would be the best bet, when teams try to counter that you'll get space again on the wing to overlap. Our trouble is our playing style is far too predictable therefore no one needs to figure out how to play against us as they just copy the last team that played us. * requires actually having someone in the box
  4. I still feel it's lack of movement and passing triangles that is causing the issue when our opponents press high up the park. In general our tempo is poor and we take 2 or 3 more touches than we should but I think it's because the options aren't there and that's why you see miller come back into our own fucking half to get the ball. Play 4-4-2 and you have 4 to play it to rather than 3 (or 2 if you have someone playing in the AM role). Or get better players in midfield and you'll see improvements.
  5. Why am I not surprised by this? Obviously waiting for each other to make the decision to sever the ties and no one is budging.
  6. Clearly he's going to be our new lone striker.
  7. He's obviously paying homage to our opponents box on match day
  8. Just wondering if we lined up against Killie with a 4-4-2 and failed to win would people praise the manager for changing things from the 4-3-3 or would he get slated for not getting the result? Its a tough job because it's results driven and we are all armchair managers here but that's the territory that comes with a job,of this magnitude and I hope,Warburton can up his game and get control of the situation again because as a man he's a class act.
  9. Wilson won't be back and we know MW likes Kieran so that one is a shoe in but I highly doubt Gilks and Hodson will keep their place which is wrong. would like to see the following if MW refuses to change the 4-3-3: gilks hodson kiernan hill tav windass Halliday holt MOH Miller Waggy Fuck the favourites. Wide men get to the byeline, miller stays in the fucking box and the opposite wide player comes in at the back post.
  10. You've hit the nail on the head there. This David Brent style management, everyone's opinion is respected, everyone has a say, inquests after games is just too airy fairy. Managers have to be seen as the authoritative figure otherwise things unravel and I think this is what we are seeing here. The dots seem to connect and it would seem logical for what is happening but it could all be bullshit. One thing is for sure, if half of these stories are true Warburton will resign (still can't see the board sacking him and paying him off).
  11. Very true. The old saying of "if it's not broken don't fix it" has a sibling "if you don't think it's broken you'll never try to fix it". This is why I like the view from the club deck as the pitch looks so different from that viewpoint and you can clearly see where there are positional and tactical problems. I think Warburton could do with seeing the game from a different angle if he can't see where we are losing the battles across the park.
  12. That scissor tackle from behind was just his reaction to not getting the penalty when Wallace fairly tackled Sinclair, could easily have been a red.
  13. No one said anything about going out of your way to hurt someone but to assert yourself in the game early on is crucial for these matches. It is a risk that you might be over zealous and fuck things up but brown would have been a mouse today if we had someone who bullied him from the off. As @TheLoudenTavernier stated we are too soft as a team, no one is taking on that role and it showed today.
  14. Lways think back to Hutton on mcgeady, totally kept him out of the game after crunching him. You need guys like Ian Ferguson in your midfield who bleed blue and fucking hate them.
  15. High intensity, high pressing, intae them like domination with 20 shots at goal and at least 14 on target and winning by 3 goals at least.
  16. Wonder if players are still getting hydration tested every morning? There are so many factors at play that it's hard to pinpoint where things are going wrong but things are going wrong as could clearly be seen by the fitness levels of both teams today. Maybe a trip to Gullane sands is required?
  17. Probably won't be as simple as that but I tell you one thing if we had money like English championship sides he'd have been sacked by now. I don't condone the way the clubs behave down south in that regard (except Rotherham with the elephant man ) but I think the compensation aspect might just make Warburton unsackable. Given the failure with the Barton signing and to an extent kranjcar would the board trust him with more money?
  18. So the manager thinks we were grave on the ball today and whilst he made a tweak with Tav in right mid which did nullify the threat on the right wing somewhat I feel now is the time for the manager to show the size of his balls, figuratively speaking. Two must win home games on the horizon and another opportunity to right some wrongs. The manager has got to stop playing the regulars. Their performances don't merit a starting slot so they should not get one until they prove otherwise. What is the point in talking about competition and players pushing each other to get in the team or talking about having clear paths to the first team when some just get picked anyway. So to Wednesday, if Warburton continues with the 4-3-3 and still starts with Wallace and McKay in particular then it's clear he doesn't have what it takes to manage this club. Most of the time it's not easy making the right decisions but to succeed you sometimes have to do things that are difficult. What would show some real bravery for me would be a lineup as follows: Gilks Tav Kiernan Hill Hodson MOH Holt Halliday Forrester Garner Miller Naming the starting XI in a simple list would seem we are playing the same formation with forrester in midfield 3 and MOH, garner and miller in the front 3. The trouble is I think Warburton has too much pride to change formation and his very vocal and well publicised opinion on plan A and plan B is to do plan A better but like I said sometimes it's not easy to do the right thing (not saying 4-4-2 is a panacea but it will at least give the opposition manager something to think about). Do people think he has the bravery required to manage our club?
  19. The trouble is Warburton has pigeon holed the playing style and a squad to tie in with that style that he can't even change it now if he wanted to because he'd look like he admitted defeat by changing to 4-4-2 for example. its very much a case of live by 4-3-3 and die by 4-3-3. Would have a lot of respect for him if he came out with a new shape on Wednesday and said, it's time for plan b. Things haven't worked and we are trying something new but there's no chance of this ever happening and it will be his downfall.
  20. Saying "we lost a game of football today" shows he just doesn't get what this fixture means
  21. Would have more respect for MW if he went 4-4-2 against st Johnstone and play garner and miller up top from the start and then I'd judge garner on how he played there. he doesn't suit the lone striker role so people saying he is shite it's a bit premature, it's like signing an attacking midfielder to play as a holding midfielder.
  22. I think this is what he is told to do. Take a look at his YouTube videos of goals for Sheffield Utd 2 years ago or when he scored against us. He can shoot and has a decent right peg but I think he's been told not to and is just following instructions.
