The Blues

They are an average side but we were well beaten as we don’t look like scoring. We continually pass backwards and don’t create any chances. Some of our players are woefully off form. Our only decent players were McGregor, Balogun and Morelos although Tav came alive in the last 5 minutes.

Draw would be a superb result the way we have been playing this season with even Europe performances disappointing.

I hope Sparta were watching that. It might make them totally complacent.

3 points but not really very entertaining. We move the ball around but the final third is the problem. Sometimes runs aren’t spotted and the ball is passed back instead of slipped through. The high crosses are just not working as we don’t have anyone on the end of them. Best hope for Thursday night is 0-0 as I can’t see us scoring against Sparta.

Another game today crying out for a striker to head in some of the crosses we send in.

He didn’t fail. The boy is 24 and got one chance this season in an away game against a team we couldn’t even beat at home where he didn’t play. He can’t be blamed for the missed chances/goal drought against the Armenian team either. He had done well in pre-season and scored goals. We need more players up front that can get on the end of crosses and convert simple chances. We are creating a lot of chances but our weakness is in the final third.

He never got a chance as a regular starter. He was scoring for fun in the Swiss league and for the Swiss National team before he joined us. The header goal against Bayern shows what we are missing….someone to get on the end of all the crosses we send in.

Better 2nd half in a very one sided game. We should have scored more.

Too many overhit crosses, poor passes and good passes where the receiving player is static and doesn’t move into the space where the pass is.

Get Katic back if he has done ok at Split. He looked good in a lot of matches and now he is more mature he might have found more consistency. As long as he has fully recovered from injury.

They have both done well but we must move them on in January/end of season for whatever we can get if they can’t agree new contract. We can’t afford to let players wind down their contracts.

Not sure why he was given a new contract if he never plays.

It’s been brutal to watch this season but we are still at the top of the league. It can only get better.

Still too much celebrating going on while the team aren’t performing well on pitch.

Not imposing enough and doesn’t bring the ball forward.

We can only get better in the other Group games. We have shown in recent seasons that we can beat top sides like Porto/Galatasaray/Braga etc. when we play at our best.

Chance for the team to redeem itself after Thursday and show that we have what it takes ……prediction 2-0 win

Davis has done his usual but the rest have been sub par.

Paterson is probably our most valuable and marketable player at present.

Were Malmö and Slavia Prague €300 million teams as well because we served up the same rubbish against them

300 million team so we have no chance? If this is the case we might as well send the B team along. This has always been the case and we have beaten better teams than Lyon at Ibrox.

Paterson has to play. Tav needs rested.

We certainly need to do something with midfield. Davis is the only one playing as well as last year but he needs rested. I think the op has a point here and JL should be tried as the understudy/long term replacement for Davis.

Lyon were a reasonable side but we played like a team with no belief that we could win the game.

He is going down the Cedric hole. Give the boy a chance . We are completely stale and need to change.
