The top clubs in England and abroad haven't exactly been testing our resolve with huge bids.

Again mate........with the keeper being the most specialised position on the field there is a lot of cat and mouse involving keepers. I think we will either get a big healthy offer, or a few big teams will get involved in a bidding war. I know that is stating the obvious, but i feel teams will play their cards close to their chest with A McG

Bullshit .. McGregor has been outstanding this season, carrying on his form from last season.

He is a top notch shot stopper, when he is up against a penalty, i always have confidence he will save it, he is now coming for cross balls far more than previously and commanding his area.

There is not many better than him in the UK.

So because he's been outstanding in the SPL and a couple of CL games, he'll only attract interest from Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Man City? The others will think he's far too good for them?

Bullshit

So realistically who is a better keeper, for a top 4 team to sign?

Let me get this straight. You think Allan McGregor is the best goalkeeper in the world? And no EPL club would view any other goalkeeper as a better signing than him?

You're utterly deluded mate, sorry

Id say McGregor is better at this stage of his career than a fair few of them.

I doubt Shagger would want to go down to Villa, how much say he has in it is a different matter though. He could do alot better than Villa imo, more respect to him, than disrespect to them.

meaning what? Only one person will decide if he's leaving and thats McGregor

I hope no-one comes in for Allan McGregor and he commits his future to Rangers.

Losing a player like McGregor is always going to hurt, especially at that stage of a season.

I Would Take The Dosh ! Neil Alexander a Great Keeper £8,000,000 Buys A Good Few Outfield Players!

You really believe that if we sold McGregor for say, £8m, the manager would see the money?

He'd be doing well to get a few million, and that couldn't replace McGregor whilst strengthening the areas that are required.

Show me where I said he was the best keeper in the world...

So Real Madrid would sell Casilas?

Liverpool would sell Reina to a league rival?

Cesar will leave Inter?

My point is he is a realistic target for the top 4 teams in England...

McGregor would walk into the Arsenal team. Arsenal were top 4 last time I checked.

Not if Arsene Wenger doesn't think so!

I think Wenger would look elsewhere.

Let the bidding commence :uk:

You said that the big 4 in England couldn't realistically sign any goalkeeper who is better than McGregor

Liverpool and Chelsea don't need to because their goalkeeper is already far better than McGregor

Man Utd could sign Neuer, De Gea, Adler, Stekelnberg, Buffon

Arsenal could sign the above 5

Man City could sign the above 5, plus Casillas, Valdes, Julio Cesar if they wanted them enough

As long as Wenger is in charge, Arsenal will never spent that much on one player, especially not a GK, and I doubt Man Utds debts would allow them to pay that much.

Arsenal chose to sign no one rather than bid for McGregor

Man Utd have signed Lindegaard for a fee that would've got them McGregor

I think it's safe to say that neither of them want him

McGregor- a world class keeper, for less than 10 million or close to 20 million for a keeper of a similar standard?

Maybe some don't see McGregor as world class or a sgood as the likes of Neuer, Buffon, Lloris, Diego Lopez, Frey, Stekelenburg...

Top keepers don't always go for big money. Angelo Peruzzi is still the second most expensive keeper at £14m-£15m, Craig Gordon is the 3rd at £9m.

Just went onto a Villa forum, most of them rate him highly, and rightly so.

One nonce said this ;

mcgregor is quite good but prone to silly mistakes, so not sure he would be worth £7m ot whatever

Things like 'Best keeper to buy sub £10million" popped up alot.

been on a few villa forums, a lot of them haven't even seen mcgregor play.

Some think he's a good keeper, others would rather go for given from man city (7m and is 34) being quoted.

One deluded fan thought they should go for the polish keeper at man utd.

Exactly, we as Rangers fans think that McGregor would be ideal for a team like Arsenal but that is our biased opinion because we watch him week in week out and are aware of his ability.

Most of my friends who are EPL fanboys haven't even heard of McGregor, never mind rate him.

No chance McGregor will go to a top 4 EPL team, and I can't believe that people think there is a chance Wenger would sign him - the exact opposite of what Wenger would go for in the transfer market. For a start, he's not French...

Villa seems a far more realistic destination but hopefully he will stay regardless.
