TartanTeddy 766
Seems so..DisgustingThat's a pretty selective interpretation of the article, particulalry when it actually says: Cunningham told a Holyrood committee studying the new proposals that the songs and religious practices were not offensive in themselves and stressed they had not been outlawed by the new legislation, but they could be explosive in the wrong context. So no, your not going to get arrested for singing GSTQ. You might get arrested if you are acting in an agressive and sectarian manner (something I've never felt the need to do at Ibrox or anywhere else). That's healthy, it's well intended, and while we still have morons in this country that get off on sectarianism and bigotry, then we will undoubtedly have to bring in legislation that wouldn't normally be required in an educated 21st Century country.Sadly we have a lot of morons that get off on their faux love of the IRA and UVF - and try and wrap it around supporting Rangers. They're not supporting Rangers, their just leeching of the club and damaging it in the process. To be honest, for half the nae brains that you hear pedling a lot of the shite (on both sides) jails to fecking good for them. So while the legggislation is rushed, and far from perfect, it's actually a step in the right direction. And you (and me) can still sing GSTQ to our heart content without fear of arrest. Mark. 69
I absolutely despise the mentality of the majority of people in Scotland. The anti-British propaganda is getting ridiculous now.

nachothelegend 1,932
I would Love to see them take down the Flags outside the Louden or the Bristol Bar that would be a site. They will never stop me from singing My National Anthem at the Rangers Game or anywhere in Public . I will never shut up and will continue to Support the United Kingdom .I will go to Jail for it and if they try this the Phone Lines to Downing Street will be in Meltdown. So what happens if I sing God save the Queen and some Irish Catholic Celtic Supporter hits me, Do I still go to Jail for Sectarian Singing?Probably if they fit this in to the Farce of a Bill.Cant anyone see they are turning this stupid little country into a Socialist Republic with a bunch of numnuts at the helm. I knew I shouldnt have came back here to live.Lions led by Donkeys.I should have stayed in England where they treat people like adults. Follow Follow and God Save The Queen...And tell me who sings the National Anthem when Battering a Fenian. This Place will kick of like Belfast if this keeps up IMO of course. weeblu 0
I suppose you could get done for flying the Union Flag in your garden, if the Celtic supporting family across the road suspect it is done to get one over them. You can't be done for flying the union flag in your garden.A mate of mine just last week got a letter from the council telling him to take his down or he was going to court.Within a few phone calls he had the head man from the council at his door saying there was a missunderstanding and there was no need to take it down. It's great what can be achieved when you have an ex gers player as a mate who has Donald Findlay on speed dial to sort it out for you. Thermopylae 15,287
I wonder how many other countries jail people for singing their national anthem? What about all those soldiers in past world wars who have fought for our country.. it's a complete lack of respect for them that they fought for the land that we live on, yet we're not allowed to be patriotic about our country. It's a fair point only in this country could the people singing the national anthem be in the jail and not the ones who are offended by it . Maxou 66
Theres no way it would stand up in a court of law. Jailed for singing God Save The Queen. Not a chance. This If they pass that law Scotland will be laughed at
Gaffbear 4,104
When you thought this ridiculous law couldn't get anymore cringeworthy then we're hit with this along with making the sign of the cross and having tattoo's...Welcome to the first act in George Orwells 1984.We need to fight this now...it's gone too far. dmartin809 4
The Billy Boys, no pope of rome and anything with f.t.p add-ons have already been outlawed, their is already legislation in place (the anti terror laws) which covers a vast amount of bile the beggars sing which has never been put into use. Anybody who finds the union flag or our national anthem (regardless of the circumstances) offensive should be strongly encouraged to find a country with a less offensive flag and anthem and that includes most of Scotland's mp's. This country should not be allowed to make decisions on it's own if this is the result, this new law is anti British and therefore the British mp's (Westminster) should have the final say on it. Where it would undoubtedly be laughed out and signal the end of republican rose's political career and rip salmonds little credibility to shreds. In fact it should be against the law to find your country's flag and anthem offensive, it really is time to lobby Westminster to make them realize how much anti British racism is happening in their small-minded Scotland. Raff1690 25
The people hoping to enforce this should take a long look at themselves. How can singing the British national anthem be offensive............ever?Its getting beyond a joke!
Loan Ranger 48
The same law is targeted at them also to be fair. The two examples for this law were singing GSTQ in an inciteful manner and also 'aggressively crossing/blessing yourself'Both are fucking hilarious if you ask me - but people lets not think for a second that this law is aimed purely at us.
