BLUEDIGNITY 33,715
No surprise here.Is the media running this story. ?Celtic star Joe Ledley in headbutt attack Sep 26 2011 Chris Musson ; Alan Carson joe ledley celebration CELTIC star Joe Ledley was attacked in the early hours of Sunday morning, it was claimed yesterday. The confrontation happened in Glasgow city centre following his man-of-the-match performance on Saturday. The incident took place near Sugar Cube nightclub at 3am, after a night out with his dad and some pals. A witness said the incident began when a man tapped Ledley on the shoulder - then head-butted him.It is claimed the player was kicked in the face after falling to the ground, before police stepped in.Celtic declined to comment but a club insider said: "A group of guys had a go at Joe on Queen Street."We don't know the exact details but there seems to have been a scuffle and, thankfully, Joe wasn't significantly injured."He was actually out with his dad for some drinks. Joe is a quiet lad and certainly not the kind of person who would attract trouble."The club were last night still trying to establish what happened. After the incident, a cryptic message was posted on Ledley's Twitter account saying: "Just had a good fight with Rangers."Yesterday, the midfielder, who scored Celtic's first goal in their 2-0 win over Inverness, had put the attack behind him as fans bombarded him with messages asking if he was OK.Ledley gave no hint he'd suffered any injury at around 11am yesterday, merely telling his followers: "Off to play some golf."He was later spotted signing autographs at Westerwood golf club in Cumbernauld, Lanarkshire. The player also deleted his post about the fight after being swamped with questions from fans.Strathclyde Police said yesterday they had no record of the incident.
