TheFarmer 260
If millers plan all works out and the NewCo is merged with the OldCo before 31st of March next year I can't see any reason why we can't play in Europe the following season.UEFA's only stipulation is that every club has 3 full financial years worth of audited accounts, which the OldCo would have (After a CVA accounts would be able to be audited relatively easily) once the two (old and new) were merged. So we would surely have our 3 years audited accounts. Is this the main reason Miller is going the incubator route rather than just the plain old NewCo? There seems to be very little difference in whether we manage to get the OldCo cleaned up and merged with the new one other than preserving the company of 1899 (The NewCo with liquidation of the OldCo would still make us The Ranges: same badge, same name, same strip, same stadium etc...)Obviously it would be nice to keep the company of 1899 as part of the club, but I think this could also be a reason as to why he's going down the incubator route. j1mgg 3,766
Sadly until we are giving a complete breakdown of his plan by an unbiased source we will probably all be making stuff up. If it works like your saying I would be over the moon.

gunslinger 270
you also have to have 3 unbroken years of membership of your relevant assosciation.
Guardian 4,281
If we merge back with the old club then the 3 year rule won't stand. We'd be the same club and company.TBK are making a big deal of this, but the same would apply to them.

TheFarmer 260
you also have to have 3 unbroken years of membership of your relevant assosciation.Even if he gained a CVA for oldco Rangers then merged it with his newco, Uefa will consider this a change in the club's legal structure. To be eligible, clubs must have three unbroken years of membership of their domestic association, so Miller's Rangers would not be able to play in Europe until the beginning of the 2015/2016 seasonHerald Scotland, Today [/thread]

TheFarmer 260
That quote i posted above is from here:The HeraldActually quite a good article, basically claiming under millers plans we will keep all of our history and titles, even if the OldCo can't be cleaned up. Which we all knew anyway, obviously.

The Godfather 75,672
Who knows what will happen regarding if Miller is successful with his plans, it's not been confirmed either way. Newspapers will run with anything regardless of facts and readers will choose to believe whatever suits themTBK backers like to bring it up at every opportunity rather than look at the bigger picture, even if we were banned for 3 years is it really the end of the world? What other option did Rangers as a club have? TBK…..nope sorry they were laughable as a bidder and their whole bid was built on guarantees from Ticketus who in turn relied on ‘personal guarantees’ from the trustworthy Craig Whyte….Aye that would run smooth eh? Under Millers plans we would still have our club, our stadium and let's be honest here Europe (CL) is not a given as we have seen many times as the qualifiers are murder for our clubs to get through at the start of the season. Who is to say we would make any European group stage anyway? We have the chance to be run as a club living within it's means with or without European football which will mean we cannot budget for it like previous years than in turn have buggered out finances. GeneralCartmanLee 313
Opinion is all this is right now as i doubt uefa or the SFA, who actually grant the licenses, have ever been in this position before. If no European football for three years is the price we have to pay for survival then it is a relatively small one in the scheme of things. e put a team on the park that costs what we can make out Scotland, it will be good enough to challenge for the title, after three years we are back in Europe and cut our cloth to suit that budget. It's a pain in the arse but what is the alternative....
caseyjones 3,009
really. The split, the CVA and the subsequent merger will all be done in the next fortnight and UEFA will forget all about their rules on clubs jettisoning their debts.

Grant_1986 73
If we think the authorities are Anti-Rangers now, what will they be like when it is within their interests (for the Scottish coefficient) for Celtic to win the league and compete in the Champions League?
