Transfers

Surely they need to keep a portion of their homegrown players? Unless they sign others to replace them.

With Pantilimon going Id imagine they'll try and sign a keeper who's 'homegrown'.

Interesting to see who else they'll sign, how many will they need if they all leave?

If Wenger legitimately has £100m to spend, he'd be smart to invest it in another £50m superstar, and a few £10-15m players to litter around the squad.

His real issue is depth, rather than lack of talent. With that money spent wisely Arsenal could be a force next season.

Surely this has to be the year Chelsea move Courtois in ahead of Cech?

I still rate Cech, but Courtois has been the best keeper in Spain for the last two seasons, and the best keeper in the world this season. They'd be trading up their ageing keeper for a better, younger model, and wouldn't even have to pay a penny to do it.

Wenger has hinted that he believes the answer to their problems could already be at the club :anguish:

Chelsea face a big problem with the Atletico keeper.

They have 2 world class keepers on their books and Cech even at 31 still has 4 or 5 years at the very top in him..so given what he has done for Chelsea it would seem very harsh to ditch him when he's still in top form.

However Cortious is only going to improve and has more than a decade at the top in him and you really wouldn't want to pass up on the potential best keeper in Europe.

Mourinho I think is a guy who is loyal to his players just like Essien when he took him to Madrid, I can't see him telling Cech to move aside.

Tough call but if it was my choice I'd go with Cortious.

Keepers now tend to only peak once they hit their 30's now so Cech potentially has a decade left in him too.

Cech is an experienced dressing room leader and is so consistent that he's almost overlooked as being one of the world best when he is.

It's a tough call to make, but if it was me I'd probably sell Courtoious for megabucks and stick with Cech.

I think Barry would be a smart signing for Arsenal too.

This season has shown that they need more experience & strength in depth within the squad and Barry would offer that over the course of a season.

Barry on a free and Vela to come back for 4 million or whatever it is would be two great signings to kick the Summer off.

Everton. Liverpool and Arsenal should be sniffing about at the forgotten Englishman leaving City this summer.

As for Chelsea with that young GK it's a tough one indeed the kid needs to play as a number one. No point having him #2 at Chelsea.

They can always loan him back out again but Cech could last until he's 40 odd.

I doubt Courtois is going to want another loan spell

I think Arsenal need a more mobile striker with a better work rate than Giroud. He is a good player but disappears too often for me.

Hard to think of any players that would suit their style just now, any ideas?
