Sounds too good to be true for them.

Could Madrid afford his wage? Mind you would they even want him although I do think he'd be more suited to Italian football for some reason.

Ba could be a shout for Everton or the likes.

I think they probably could.. When Torres went to Liverpool he had to drop down in wages quite a bit!

Although they are paying down their debts, they can still afford good wages!

Some French papers are running with Mourinho abandoning the Costa deal and making a move for Falcao instead.

I have a feeling that happened a while ago.. When it was reported that Chelsea had got Costa, he said that "people talk a lot" or something to that effect!

Really hope Atletico's team isn't ripped apart like Dortmund's has been lately. Players should look to build on the clubs achievements and not just bail out for a bigger named club and pay slip.

Almost always happens and sadly means well organised but overachieving teams will never last more than a season, in the vast majority of cases anyway. IIRC it keeps happening in France and Germany in particular with Bordeaux, Montpellier, Wolfsburg and as you said, Dortmund.

  • Chelsea are closing in on a triple deal with Spanish champions Atletico Madrid for left-back Filipe Luis, striker Diego Costa and former midfielder Tiago that is set to cost them in excess of £50m plus former Athletico striker Fernando Torres used as a make weight in the deal. Jose Mourinho is keen to overhaul his squad this summer and has PSG's Ezequiel Lavezzi and Juventus midfielder, Paul Pogba in his sights.
