El Carpintero 546
Not really. I'm proud to be British. But it's just my Britain and values are different from the majority on here it would seem. That's what makes our society great.I meant the "freedom of speech" claim. We do not have freedom of speech.

bloonosed 14
I think those that would cause division and censorship based on differences in opinion have no place in a modern society. But, aren't we lucky we live in Britain where we have the right to freedom of speech.Well said !
bloonosed 14
What is cringeworthy to me is NOT Gers fans supporting the monarchy. It is the fact that some Gers fans are actually wrapped up in some stupid wee brainwashed bubble thinking that the monarchy actually support Rangers. elephants stoned 2,994
The great thing about Rangers is that while we have our traditions and history we are also open and welcoming. Im Scottish born, lived in England alot of my life, politicaly im on the left and a proud socialist, and agnostic religously. Yet im a proud Rangers fan and have a deep love for our club, i suport the union and like the monarchy because they are part of what makes Britain British. I think we shouldnt be arguing about whos a 'real' fan or not from peoples views on non football matters. If you love The Rangers, your a Bear in my book. (tu)quote]I thought that was english, anyway I was asking your logic behind that statement you made yes Rangers is open to all we, are a reflection of the people, What people are you referring to? Again back to my statement about no other club uses this chant and they all know what it refers to? Hope you understand this time!

Again back to my statement about no other club uses this chant and they all know what it refers to? Hope you understand this time! I'm referring to society. We were started by some young boys who wanted to play football. Our rise and rise reflects society: Govan shipyards and their half day off, Ireland problem from the early 20th century, the (yet unresolved) conflict between RC Irish immigrants and the rest, the growth of the (failed) multiculturalism experiment, etc. Rangers' history has been heavily influenced by societal issues. It's obvious to say we are a reflection of that society over time, we are the people.

MosesMcNeil 1,664
I don't understand why anyone would not love the Monarchy. An iconic symbol of all the hopes and dreams for the people of The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.Long to reign over us. Her Majesty in a stunning sash.
OrangeBurn 57
I'm with MosesMcNeil on this one. I can't really understand how you could not enjoy and be proud of the monarchy we have right now. Everytime I see the Royal Family on my TV or in the paper etc the very first thing I think of is unity. Throughout time the Royals have always stood for the togetherness of our people. With a Union flag representing the countries in our glorious nation. Personally, when I see the Queen and the Union flag I automatically reference it with the World Wars. How during that time there was no/very little "I'm Scottish, not British" feelings but we were all the same people fighting for the same cause, for the same fantastic empire and for the same monarchy which has rules these isles for a very long time. No one will sit here and say that everything has been perfect over the years, innocent people have died, wrong moves have been made but you'll find that in every country. Be thankful we aren't rules with an Iron Fist as a dictatorship. You have freedoms which some people litterally die for elsewhere. We have a long, proud relationship with a wonderful Queen for the past 60 years, be proud of that because when it's gone you'll know it's gone. God Save our Queen and our Monarchy, be proud.
