Green selling up rumour

Can't see the club being sold till at least our league position is clarified.

We won't be in the spl so technically Rangers are at the minute a club with no league to play in, also lots of uncertainty over how many players will leave and how much our running costs will be etc.

All these things need to be sorted before anyone buys the club.

McKenna was never in the running, that was just media pap and a wind up to try and pour more oil on the fire, please post a source as its hard enough trying to keep up with the real news

They made a bid and it was only rejected on Sunday, so it was more than media pap.

There is a lot more to this than meets the eye and Bomber is talking to various folk regarding still pursuing the purchase of the club. As has been publicly stated, he wants it in the hands of the fans, and that is good enough for me.

There are a load of folk here in Asia desperate to get involved financially, to buy shares, etc. Lets hope we get the chance!!

It seems to me the obvious solution is if there are investors willing to collectively pay in excess of double what Green paid for the assets, they should atempt to buy the Oldco before it formally goes into liquidation in August, making a CVA proposal of at least double Green's offer with an additional installment plan of the same amount (so overall four times Green's CVA offer) to be paid up over ten years. In addition they should co-operate with a thorough investigation into whether there was criminality on Craig Whyte's part. Green has already paid Duff and Phelps fees so that won't need to come off and there is also the season ticket money that was paid to the Oldco. This might just be what is needed to get HMRC to accept. That way we stay in the SPL and only one season out of Europe even if we have to find a way to buy back or initially lease the stadium. There is also the possibility of up to £25 million coming in from the lawsuit against Craig Whyte's solicitors which as it stands is going to be distributed among the creditors anyway if awarded.

Walter Smith, Paul Murray, Brian Kennedy, Bill Ng get your collective investors together and do this. There's more return on investment to be reaped that way than trying to buy Green's Sevco and trying to build from the ground in the third division (assuming we can even get admitted to it which in not guaranteed).

Sevco 5088 hasn't had its name changed yet (Surely I'm not alone in seeing the cruel irony of the last two digits 88 - Craig Whyte, Charles Green, Sevco 5088). Surely that is a red flag. Not to mention it being registered in England and Wales, are football clubs playing in Scotland not required to be Registered in Scotland (just a thought)?

It was media pap, a non story to sell papers and fuel the fire http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/news/4388189/Hoops-Im-20million-short-for-Rangers-bid.html

Dsagree. In turning down McColl before Green gambled to an extent on staying in the SPL. Dropping to SFL1 or worse SFL3 reduces the value of the club drastically. I'll bet based on recent press reports regarding voting intentions Green blinks first.

Get on the phone Mr McColl.

God, it's like groundhog day in here sometimes.

I can't see someone coming in till things have been confirmed (like league/tupe etc) just now there's too many variables for a potential purchaser, I mean for one thing the bid for an spl club or division 3 club is going to be significantly different.

And if they weren't willing to stump up the cash before why should we believe they will now when there are even more issues muddying the waters.

Guess we'll see on wednesday?
