A clogger who will leave Rangers and struggle in the Championship if he is even that lucky.

The problem with youth players at Rangers is they need to play a regular amount of games in the 1st team at 16 to 18 to realise their potential. They can't just come in for the end of season when the league is over, play 2 or 3 games and then think they've made it.

In the SPL days the excuse given was the pressure to win the league and it was too big a gamble to play the promising kids in key games.

2 seasons ago we had probably the one and only chance in our history where the pressure was off and kids could play these games at a young age.

McCoist decided in his infinite wisdom this wasn't a route he wanted to go down...more so this season.

So players like Perry, Hegarty, McAusland, Crawford,McKay and Hutton will probably end up at pastures new never having had the games they require to see if they are indeed good enough.

And next season i don't see it changing one iota as the "pressure" will increase as the level of competition increases.

Gallagher may well feature in a few more games this season but i simply cannot see him being given a main striking role next season.

If anything i expect to see more SPFL type players arrive and limit even more the possible game time to our most promising youngsters.

As the countries premier club you would think the youngsters coming to us would be top drawer, with the odd exception we seem to churn out steady basic ok footballers, Perry imo does not even reach the ok stage, its just wrong that someone with so little ability can play 1st team football for The Rangers.
