tannerall 25,935
i fear it would be short sighted to remove ally because of results, like it or not he is more than just a manager at this time,he is one of only two who i can trust to watch out and defeat the sharks who are lurking. Good post opYes, would be short sighted to remove a manager because of results.
CraigG 56
I can already hear Ally's excuses for poor performances after September 1st - "the new players need time to gel together as a team" or some such shit. When will he stop blaming everyone and everything but himself.
Marco 1,530
It's ridiculous that folks are saying he needed the new signings to beat a part-time team!He routinely shows he just doesn't have the ability to manage (even at this level). If this was anyone other than Ally, he'd be out the door. It's not about attacking one the club's greatest servants - it's about what is best for Rangers. We won't progress under Ally. The fact that we need a host of new professional players to supposedly beat Forfar says it all.
trublusince1982 768
Yes, would be short sighted to remove a manager because of results. i agree with the sentiment mate managers usually would be judged on no more than results, but in this instance i think we have bigger things to worry about. D'Artagnan 13,319
Lies?He lied during yesterday's out burst regarding Green's comments.“Once again, he was reminding our boys who had a serious cup tie in four hours that he thinks they were the worst Rangers team in history.Green never said anything of the sort in his statement yesterday. Stranraer No7 20
I never wanted McCoist from the switchover when Walter went. I didn't think he was ready to manage us and I was right in my judgement. However I do also tend to agree with not having a knee jerk reaction after every bad result and can see that we are weak without our new signings but we all knew this was the case. I believe we will come good and walk the league and probably have a good cup run too. My opinion on ally as manager won't change however and I'm afraid the writing is on the wall for him as greens influence will guarantee his departure sooner rather than later. Thewhitesettler 2,711
So we should back a manager who lies and attacks other Rangers staff via the club's official website ?I'm not distrusting your words D'Art, but where? When? How did he lie, & attack staff?I think that if Ally had never played for Rangers, he would've been sacked by now
pcbear 10,924
You might get a bit of support bp if we were all blind, deaf and daft, but our eyes and ears don't lie and in general not so silly, there is not a single Rangers fan with a bad word to say about McCoist the man, McCoist the manager though! Any lower league manager worth his salt would have us ripping teams with the squad at his disposal, aye and last season.
D'Artagnan 13,319
I'm not distrusting your words D'Art, but where? When? How did he lie, & attack staff?I think that if Ally had never played for Rangers, he would've been sacked by nowHere is the article which was pulled from the official site White Settler.ALLY McCOIST has accused Charles Green of treating Rangers and its fans with contempt and believes he has no interest in the club. The manager was furious to waken up this morning to comments from the former Light Blues chief executive – appointed as a consultant to the club yesterday - in a national newspaper. In the interview, he insisted McCoist had to win the league and a cup this season or he would ‘have a problem’.Green also reiterated his belief last season’s team was the worst in the club’s history and described events at Ibrox as ‘a circus’.And he maintained he’d have raised season ticket prices this term and wouldn’t have given McCoist the volume of players Craig Mather has allowed him to recruit. The manager was furious in particular with the timing of Green dismissing the same squad from 2012/13 he was working with at today’s League Cup tie against Forfar.Gers lost 2-1 after extra-time and McCoist feels the Yorkshireman’s words played a part. He said: “They were a terrible distraction and I found his comments appalling, I really did.“Once again, he was reminding our boys who had a serious cup tie in four hours that he thinks they were the worst Rangers team in history.“What kind of team talk is that from somebody who is supposed to have the club’s best interests at heart?“He’s fooling nobody. He’s trying to kid the fans on that he’s this, that and the next thing but he’s not interested in Rangers Football Club, not at all.“I think it’s plain to see his contempt and total lack of respect for my players, the staff at the club, the supporters and Scottish football in general. It’s totally unacceptable.”McCoist went into this afternoon’s match at Station Park minus the eight new players he has recruited over the last few weeks. The difference in play without them was evident as Rangers struggled to break down their fellow League One opponents for large spells.Fraser Aird did cancel out Gavin Swankie’s early opener to force an additional half hour of play and there were chances for the Light Blues to edge it.Instead they fell to a second Swankie strike in windy conditions and McCoist knows his players didn’t perform the way they could have.He said: “I’m very disappointed. The team shooting with the wind obviously had a very strong advantage and conditions weren’t ideal. Forfar adapted better than us.“With that said, once we did get the equaliser I thought we had chances to win the game and we should have done. It was a moment of slackness that cost us and we just switched off.“Let’s put things into perspective though. It was last year’s team playing – which did well for us last year – and we had eight lads in the stand who couldn’t play but who’ll feature.“For long periods of the game, we had the ball and we had great chances to score but we couldn’t convert and we’ll congratulate Dick Campbell and his team on their win.“Now we look ahead to the Newcastle game, which will give us an opportunity to play lads our new chief executive has stood by and allowed to bring into the club.“We have to remember we’ve brought in good players, people who have played in the Premier League, and I’ve no doubt they will make us better.”Here is the link to Green's actual commentshttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2384102/Charles-Green-Ally-McCoist-win-league-cup-double.html

scarkev 3,540
I neither support or don't support him - but as yet his sucess at running this football club is unproven - I neither want to knock Green nor give him my undiluted support - what I want in the club, more than anything is stability and at the moment that's not happeneing so my default position is trust in the people that have earnt my trust and that's is Walter and Ally. His success of running a football team may be unproven however ally's inability to manage a football team, learn from past mistakes and ability to improve things are there for all to see unfortunately! Gallows high 208
Everyone can win stuff based on hindsight - Ally seems to have spotted our weaknesses and looked to address them with new players but until he can play them he is left with last years team - so a wee bit (more) patience is required. He hasn't , it was clear our centre backs were pish last year and he has only signed one new player for this position while running about signing strikers . We now have 6 forwards and he wants fucking more , trying to sign kenny miller as well . Absolute joke as he seldom plays 2 forwards. I wouldn't trust mccoist to make me a cup of tea never mind manage a team . Lost all faith in him and fucking sick how he continues to get away with this brand of football . Kopter 310
Ally, it pains me to say, is probably not the long the long term solution, but I want him to stay until all this boardroom shite is settled.Surely Walter as chairman will have to say something about what going on?The praise Green gets from some quarters on here is unfathomable. I do think his comments were totally mis-timed - which he has an uncanny knack of doing hence why Im not a fan of him.Nonetheless the fact the remains that our manager has used Green's comments to apportion blame for a shocking defeat yesterday - furthermore he has lied about Green actually said.Im not defending Green here - Im defending the truth. bombaybadboy08 15,660
Enough is enough.Always an excuse for him and yesterday he blamed Green and the wind for his failings.I genuinely thought that on this long journey folk would be going overboard in their praise of Ally because we would be dominating teams as we have a better squad etc, but all it's done is expose how poor a manager he actually is.He needs big signings to beat dross which is a bit embarrassing, his outburst should be the final nail in the coffin though. Even if he did thats no excuse , they are big fucking boys . Do you ever stop nut hugging mccoist ?
