People in the media and supporters of other clubs have been systematically going after people on the board, in the dressing room and in the stands for decades. They manage to sit back and take that OK? Why is this different ?

Maybe because it was different people on the board in addition Twitter, Facebook etc. are spreading things faster and further than before.

Rangers say they have informed police after "deeply offensive and threatening" comments were made on a fan website.

According to the team, the comments posted on the Follow Follow forum placed one of their directors and his family in "a state of fear and alarm".

In a statement the club said: "Rangers FC will not tolerate this and intend to take an extremely robust approach to this sort of behaviour.

"The board finds it inexplicable that so called supporters of the club are bringing Rangers into disrepute by this appalling behaviour. These people are not welcome at Ibrox.

"The board is also aware that certain individuals are holding meetings and inciting fans to unruly behaviour. This has also been reported to the police."

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said they were unable to comment on the matter.

So everyone gets excited about a tweet from a twat, do we have it confirmed that it's the club taking action or is it the specific board member?

If it's an slur on a specific board member why is the club getting involved? this reporter has previous.

Edit

Just seen the post above regarding the club statement, now I'd like to know what was said

Sounds a bit more serious than merely suing someone for their opinion.

Although it wouldn't be the first time bill got the wrong end of the stick...

It's two different things. Chris Graham's tweet about the board suing him is separate from the post on FF

You have to look at it from a neutral view.

If the board were suing a Tim for making comments then everyone would be right behind them, but because comments are being made by a rangers fan it is okay and they should be allowed to say what they want?

I doubt this will come to much and it could just be scare tactics, or it may be more serious(possibly their view) and think someone is deliberately trying to devalue the brand.

I am trying to be neutral about it believe it or not, but this is about more than just scare tactics here!

The slimeballs in our club's boardroom started this legal action stuff against the club's own fans last Friday because of Leggo's blog article about the Serious Fraud Office and forums which hosted threads with Leggo's article & related comments were also asked to remove the content and threatened with legal action if the content wasn't removed by 1pm on Monday.

I'm guessing this new threat of legal action against Fury will probably be a continuation of that.

It's not necessarily because it's all a pack of lies either as some fans have been saying this past week. There might just be an element (or elements plural) of truth to the SFO story which certain people could be trying to hide.
