Aberdeen have cancelled the contract of Gregg Wylde just six months into a three-year deal with the club.

The winger, who moved from Bolton Wanderers in the summer, managed 10 appearances and one goal during his short stint at Pittodrie.

His last appearance for the club came in the Scottish Cup win at Partick Thistle on December 1, lasting 61 minutes before being replaced.

The former Rangers man is now free to join another club and is not bound by the January transfer window.

To play again this season, Wylde would be required to sign for another team before March 31.

A short statement from Aberdeen read: "[We] can this morning announce that Gregg Wylde has had his contract cancelled by the club.

"The club wishes Gregg all the best for his future career."

All I can say is haha!

Why the schadenfreude? He left the January before Green arrived to save other people (non-playing staff) their jobs.

It's the same old pish from people on here. "Oh, he left, so we hate him" - that can stand justifiably for McGregor, Davis et al, but the likes of Danny Wilson and Gregg Wylde get it raw for fuck all.

Hopefully he finds a new club soon. (tu)

"I notice the headline ex rangers player axed, did he not play for Bolton before moving to sheepshaggers????? and why not say ex-bolton player"

Because it's all about the Rangers, makes you wonder what state the news papers up here would be in if they didn't have a Rangers headline to boost their sales.
