Your Starting XI for Next Season

Recommended Posts

With the signing of Boyd, I don't expect McCoist to add much more to the squad, maybe a centre mid and centre back. With that in mind, who would you have lining up for us against Hearts on the opening day of next season?

This is what I think McCoist will go for -

Bell

Foster McCulloch Mohsni Wallace

Aird Black Macleod Law

Boyd Miller

I would prefer a 3-5-2 or a 4-3-3.

But Ally will go with a pretty basic 4-4-2 I reckon. So based on that I'd go with -

New RB - macgregor - Moshni - Wallace

Aird/McKay - Macleod - Law - Temps

Miller - Boyd

What I'd like to see would be 3-5-2

Macgregor - Jig - Moshni

Aird - law - black - Macleod - Wallace

Miller - Clark

But a 4-3-3 would be better I reckon

New RB - macgregor - Moshni - Wallace

Law - black - Macleod

Clark - miller - McKay

I'd be surprised if any of those teams were selected at any point throughout the year.

A few options we could go for.

Bell

New Right Back McGregor Gasparotto Wallace

MacLeod Law

Shiels

Clark Boyd Miller

This would require both full back to get forward and play a more attacking role, one that Foster clearly can't do. Sheils in an advanced Midfield role with MacLeod and Law stoking the engine.

Bell

New Right Back McGregor Gasparotto Wallace

Aird Law MacLeod Templeton

Boyd Miller

Standard 442, get the ball on the deck and and rely on our team to play possesion based attacking Football.

What we'll probably see

Bell

Foster McCulloch Moshni Wallace

Law Black Aird

Miller

Boyd Daly

Not a fan of it at the top level but a sort of 3-4-3 /3-5-2 with

Bell

McGregor

McCulloch

Mohsni

Foster

Wallace

Black

Law/MacLeod

Templeton

Miller

Boyd

Could work reasonably well IMO.

Law must play out wide or behind the front man.. Playing him in CM is like playing with a man down.

Go 4-3-3. But we need a fast pacey right wing back who is equally as good going forward as he is defending. We also need another CB IMO.

As long as we shut down everything, are disciplined in the way we play and learn to fucking pass the ball, that team would destroy any team in Scotland out with the bheggers. For me the weak point is our defence. No more Jig, and Mohsni is a bombscare.

1 Bell .2 New player .3 Wallace . McGregor and poss Moshni . Templeton ,Shiels ,McLeod and Black .Up top Miller and Boyd with Kenny dropping of

Aird as sub for Temps

Jig should be nowhere near defence ..McLeod should not play every game ,Just maybe the home games till he finds his feet again

No places for Faure,Foster and Hutton at anytime ever

I like Goats team.

It's a bit inbalanced IMO.

Two attacking full backs with nobody in midfield to sit deep, really drop in and almost play as a third centre back to cover them will leave us really probe to the counter attack.

Also not keen on Miller playing from the right either.
