Pitch was very slow and flat, not much in it for the spinners, and once the ball got old - not much there for the seamers either. Openers are still a huge problem. Hameed is gash and unsure how he has survived the 4 tests so far, Crawley shows flashes but can't be trusted to not do something daft and Burns is no better than OK. Only Khawaja, Head, and Labuschagne have made centuries; I’d imagine that’s historically a low number for a team winning a series so comfortably. Khawaja, Head, and Mitchell Starc are the only Australians averaging over 50 with the bat. I’m not saying Australia have batted poorly, but England don’t have the excuse of some previous series where a batch of world class batsmen have taken the series away from them.
