Gaz52 11,837
Assuming Allan doesn't sign I'd go with same team as against Hibs but It'll be good to have a midfield general protecting the back four. I'd move Holt up ahead of Templeton as Holt is more attack-minded than Law & Halliday and can easily just pick up pockets of space behind Waghorn and do damage. MARK WARBURTON is ready to hand battle-hardened veteran John Eustace a two-year deal next week after insisting yesterday the 35-year-old would be a ‘great leader for us’.The Rangers boss has assessed the former Watford and Derby County captain in training over the past three weeks as Eustace has worked on regaining his fitness levels after missing the last few months of the previous campaign with a knee injury.Eustace is now nearing the required level of fitness and will almost certainly become Warburton’s eighth signing and could even be handed the captain’s armband.Lee Wallace led the team out against Hibs last week and will do so against Peterhead in the League Cup tomorrow - and the defender was the player chosen to represent Rangers in a captain’s photocall organised by new league sponsors Ladbrokes earlier in the week. loyalfollower 1,543
Well it'll be a 4-3-3 and I think McKay or templeton will lose out. Depends on how hard they train!

Gaz52 11,837
Stealth 'I Am Nicky Law's Maw' thread.I just think he's more effective than Templeton and Holt could do a good job playing as an attacking-mid
BEE 4,880
I think Holt's defencive performance has been outstanding in the two games I've seen him - flying into tackles etc. I'd like to see him play deeper than suggested here.
A Gallant Pioneer 555
Eustace is some player. I think a few people are going to be pleasantly surprised.
WadeWilson 4,670
I just think he's more effective than Templeton and Holt could do a good job playing as an attacking-midIt's a fair point actually.Law has converted his play into hard currency by being top scorer over the past two seasons. As much as it pains me to say it, Templeton has done fuck all of note since being the 'marquee' signing when we were down in the depths. Dan Deacon 57,304
Drop Nicky Lawwon't happen. I know we're all pissed off with his application in the past but there is no doubting he has ability and under marky mark warburg will prove that again.this time next year we'll all be raving about how he played

Gaz52 11,837
Also on this, is it a bit unfair taking the captaincy off Wallace? As Eustace is being touted as the next captain
6superbarry6 14,620
Get Templeton to fuck, waste of a jersey even amongst the dross last season he stuck out to me as being the worst, the worst player to wear our jersey for me
.Williamson. 87,517
I don't mind Law at all. His attitude has been pish the in the past but I can't see that being the case now
BEE 4,880
Also on this, is it a bit unfair taking the captaincy off Wallace? As Eustace is being touted as the next captainIt would of been unfair if he'd lost it to Wilson but it's understandable with Eustace IMO. As Eustace is being touted as the next captainI don't see Wallace as captain material at all. Eustace is obviously a proven leader and we need that in the team with there being a lot of younger players about now

barcodebear 85
It's been some time since we had a team full of potential captains. Not there yet, but it's of interest when we're thinking like this. A pleasant prospect.
barcodebear 85
Perhaps folk should listen to Warburton interviews more closely.
Bigsasasfloppyhair 13,310
Holt or halliday will push into top 3 meaning drop for Templeton either way in my eyes.
plymouthranger 4,276
Templeton will be dropped and one of the boys from midfield moved into his position to allow eustace to come in.I think Templeton will be deemed surplus to requirements unless he turns it on in one of the coming games
Clemdog 39,389
Any of the current midfield 3 could be replace Templeton out wide. That's what I'd imagine will happen.
