williemacbrd 32
I also remember a player called Ally Scott . Not in the same League as the two Derek's and a bit of an intellectual by all accounts.Sticks in my mind because I always thought he was rubbish. daviec1953 147
Derek Parlane was an excellent centre forward who never let Rangers down in any match he played in.My personal highlight was his goal against Bayern Munich in the semi final in 1972.Rounded off a brilliant evening. bluedylan 11,555
He had family connections here in Northern Ireland, I was led to believe his mother was from the Bangor area and Derek spent quite a few summers in County Down.

Rangers Lady 2,380
Derek Parlane and his dad jimmy are the only father and son to score against Celtic while playing for rangers. possibility of Nicky Clark doing the same thing!!This is totally unacceptable ..ADMIN !!! harlands plater 17,015
Derek Parlane certainly lived the dream, coming into the team and scoring against Bayern in a European semi final at 18, and scoring in an Old Firm Scottish Cup Final on his 20th birthday. JockWallace 106
Was my favourite player when I was growing up. Remember him scoring a spectacular goal in a game at Ibrox against Arsenal. Has never really had the recognition he deserves. I saw him later in his career at Swansea. Was never the same player after leaving Ibrox. A bear through and through. Not the first to have done it but still magic...Pretty sure he worked for either O'Neil or quicksilver latterly. I'm pretty sure he never did that.99.9% certain...I'd have remembered that.He sure knew how to score against the filth though, unlike many other supposed heroes who have played since (not mentioning any names...but we know who they are).Sitting on the ball wasn't his style anyway.
