That was a good, solid performance from Waghorn. He needed it.

For me, he's one of the few players in our squad who you'll watch and can tell that he's had his footballing education down south at a higher standard, a bit like Forrester. He seems to take time to get going, but he's an intelligent player, shown last night with that run into the box (He missed the header, though) and the attempted chip from 45 yards.

He needs to kick-on now, hopefully stay fit and have an impact on league matches.

Waghorn is at his best when we get our wide men (and Tav) to go past the fullback  at pace then cut the ball back into the mix where Waggy will find that yard of space to get onto the ball. Considering the time out with injury, he's going to get a bucket load of goals this season if we keep him in the middle.
