We're not a project. We're a badly run football club.

Someone made the Man Utd parallel there other day.

Was a giant, with standards, traditions and a winning mentality. That’s been chipped away bit by bit.

Still spend big money (comparatively) but you can’t spend your way out of a bad culture.

I've been saying for months there's so many similarities between us and Man Utd at the moment. Both in constant cycles of shite, with glimmers of optimism at the beginning, for the last however long. They're obviously doing it on a vastly bigger budget than us tho.

Said it at the time. Spending £4m on someone who had just been out for 6 months with a serious injury was madness.

The whole point of getting him on loan in January rather than signing him permanently was because we weren't sure he was worth £4m and wanted to see how he did first. What we got was the equivalent of 3.5 games and a 6 month injury and that was enough for us to decide he was worth it?

Not really, show's we're skint. No different in theory than a "buy now pay later" deal.

It's nothing to do with the financial aspect. it's baffling because of his injury record and the fact he barely played for us last year. Committing to a mandatory fee was a bad decision.
