SeparateEntityMyArse 55,327 Posted Saturday at 16:04 Share Posted Saturday at 16:04 The thing that is most unnatural in the game is players having to place their arms behind their backs when blocking crosses, facing headers and shots etc. But it's been accepted as the norm, and required. Scales turns and clearly raises both arms high never mind placing them behind his back. So if there's consistency then the hands behind the back nonsense can stop if you're pretty close to the opponent. That will be the case, yeah? 😂 delparlane

That will be the case, yeah? 😂 What we actually need to do is don’t accept this any arm out is a penalty pish and actually get back to following the traditional rules of deliberate handball. Scales’ arms were in no way in an “unnatural”position for somebody turning round and we need to get some common sense back into it. Thats apart from the fact it probably didn’t hit his hand in the first place Waltersfarm and graeme_4

OrangeRab 3,382 Posted Saturday at 18:30 Share Posted Saturday at 18:30 Don’t think it should be a penalty. But also don’t think there’s a hope in hell Var is intervening to overturn that if that’s us or Hearts against them. We’ve had the Var show this last week. And they’ve jumped all over the chance to put pressure on the officials. They’re winning every battle off the park as well as on it.
Negri's lovechild 15,383 Posted Saturday at 20:34 Share Posted Saturday at 20:34 Just seen the overturned penalty there. To me, that's a handball all day long. It bounces off his hand / arm onto his shoulder. Again though, it's about consistency and the individual interpretation of what constitutes a handball these days. delparlane and Hadron Collider

The only reason that maybe wasn't given is the close proximity/reaction time. There will be other instances this season that will definitely be given. Jimfanciesthedude 25,571 Posted Saturday at 21:17 Share Posted Saturday at 21:17 Be interesting to see the tarriers penalty as people on twitter saying the hearts boy protected his face from a cross, ref waved play on but VAR advised him otherwise

For some reason unknown to anyone apart from the Hearts player, he angles like he thinks the ball is going to get fired into him so shapes into a protective stance, throws his arms out and the ball hits him. Watp89 42 Posted Saturday at 22:44 Share Posted Saturday at 22:44 Penrice didn't need to push his hands out, it almost looks like he deliberately did it.
five stars 1,767 Posted Sunday at 19:38 Share Posted Sunday at 19:38 I think the Hearts player is actually pulling his arms into his body to keep them out the way. A wee bit Lungstrum at Kilmarnock last year. Scales arm is way up.
