Board Issues

Spouting on MSM is not the answer and causes further upheaval. Besides, I don't believe Gerrard wanted to stay.

They all need to get behind closed doors and find solutions. Instead, King loves the public drama. It's embarrassing.

Not a chance Gerrard wanted to stay once villa showed interest. We all know he wanted to manage down south.

Definitely need to sort this out the shareholders. Should all be aiming to make us successful not fighting like children in public.

All that means is the then current strategy wasn't built upon.  You don't need to wait years to have built on the 55 or Europa team.  Bad short term decisions were taken that has taken us to where we are now, not bad long term decisions.   We sacked Gio after getting to a Europa final - what's long term about that.

Not qualifying for the champions league after 55 was, i believe, absolutely the root cause of where we find ourselves today. Getting champions league money in a year celtic never qualified wouldve made everything different. And that wasnt down to the board or them not building on a strategy. The squad Gerrard had in place should absolutely have managed it and we couldve built from there. Instead he fucked it and the rest is history.

You do realise we made just as much, maybe even more by getting to seville had we made the CL group stages and got our arses handed to us and papped out at the group stages

The following season when gio made the CL our income from it was pitiful as we never got a point, papped out of europe by xmas and tv money split with the tarriers (in their favour iirc)

King's talk of £50m is bullshit in my opinion.   We need to do what Clement has begun which is by signing young talent at reasonable prices to sell at a profit a couple of years later.    The utter waste of millions spent on dross on high wages and long contracts undid previously better business.   We sold Bassey, Aribo and Patterson plus the money from getting to Seville had us in a better place financially.   Not out of the woods but certainly far better as we had a significant amount of debt.   After that is where it all went wrong with stupid signings.   High fees for Yilmaz and Danilo.   Matondo, Dowell, Lammers, Dessers, etc, etc.  The high wages and long contracts.  Failing to sell players when at peak.   It pains me to say it but our previous management and our directors should have taken a look at the tims for how it should be done.

We made the champions league group stage anyway the season after seville after beating PSV, so aye, that period we did make a hell of a lot of income and it could be said that we never made it count by backing Gio as much as he was maybe entitled to expect.  But i reckon the season after 55 qualification wouldve mattered even more towards catching up financially as it was a year that that lot never qualified.

You miss the point, our run to seville made us just as much as if we had made the CL and not been handed our arses by malmo

The issue is that we kept a squad together an expensive one at that, who had ran their course and lost interest big time

I wouldn’t mind Gerrard coming back if he had won a few more trophies that would’ve ironed his time out with us. The most sickening one was the 1-0 league cup final defeat. We genuinely should’ve took about 7 off them that day and to lose it to an offside goal I  think it killed our confidence stone dead especially in the cups. It could’ve been very different if we won that.

Reality is he hasn’t and spent £30m to get us 1 trophy.

We could be doing without the infighting, however King is highlighting the incompetencies of the board we are all talking about, just in a very dramatic way. Could be done with more diplomacy. If he can prove he can get proper investors to the table with a renewed board, the fans will hear him. Until then though, paper talk won’t change a thing

Offer of more money and a bigger league and most managers would be off. We peaked under Gerrard, but then started to go down hill.  As to the board - not been improving us on the pitch, going backwards, so time for a shake up.

The cup exits under gerrard were brutal. It's one thing if the tarriers were the road block all the time. But it was against the rest of the shite in the league. Worst hearts side going, sheep and then the 55 season he had a treble practically gift wrapped and still fucked it.

People need to remember that gerrard coming back wont be against a tarrier team with lennon in charge and cunts like duffy barkas, the wee cunt with braided hair etc at fullback

Iirc the stories at the time when Warburton beat them in the semi final was that our directors etc were a bit over the top with the celebrations at hampden and the likes of desmond etc took the huff, hence Rodgers coming in, being backed,

As they got closer to the ten and it seemed inevitable they cunted it and we stopped the ten and partied like fuck, that was us back etc etc

They immediately hired an actual football manager and backed him to the hilt and replaced him with another one and backed him to the hilt

They won't make the same mistake of hiring a clown like lennon again

Wether people want to admit it or not we need a better, more experienced manager than gerrard, just throwing money at players wont work while they are at the level they are at the now

Worryingly i dont see Rodgers fucking off to England any time soon like he did the last time, he'll be well paid, well backed and knows he's miles ahead of us

Aye so let’s not celebrate wins against them incase they retaliate by spending money

Fuck up Jim, that shites as bad as a couple of weeks ago when you suggested a performance against them was more important than the result

“Bit over the top with celebrations” what a fucking dose

Never said no celebrating, but theres people who want gerrard back because he was undefeated in his last 8 games against them, 7 were under lennon and one was a tarrier team in rebuild

Gerrard comes back now he'll come back against a better tarrier team than when he first took the job

Agree with what you say, but Clement is a clueless cunt. It's indefensible how bad a manager he is.

Fucking turgid, boring, shite football. Can he not get a team to play with intensity, actually fucking create space, and move in a game. Guy is fucking useless.

He might very well be, but if we replace him we need an alex mcleish type manager, experienced in being underdog but also knows how to build a team that will not stop until the game is done

Just wish we'd took a chance on Muscat. I was 50/50 with them as didn't really know.

But my abiding feeling was, I was disappointed when Muscat didn't get it. Clement done well when he started, but has no style of play. It's so boring!

the one good thing about whats happening is that it looks like this board are on their way out the bad thing is that we will be going around in a merry go round with oth sides maing the same mistakes again

what we need is both king and this board to sell up to a whole new group that has no allegiances to either side who just want to make money by making us better on and off the field
