the decline of benfica is quiet saddening, despite the host of stars their team has

They are top of the league in Portugal.

They have some squad after Reyes, Aimar and David Suazo got added in the summer.

Maybe a wee dark horse for the Uefa Cup (tu)

They went out bottom of their group

ah, i never looked to see where they were in the league but they are knocked out of the uefa cup, maybe its a case of them not wanting to risk losing the league?

Maybe, the only reason i know they went top of the league was because goalissimo was on the other night.

I think Rui Costa is there new gaffer  he was in the dugout directing things anyway.

The stadium was practically empty last night and half of Portugal are supposed to support them. (I'm sure I read that somewhere  )

Off-topic but the decline of River Plate is quite sad as well...finished last in their league.
