The Scottish giants are ready to make a move for the Northern Ireland international where he would team up with former Whites midfielder Steven Davis at Ibrox. The Cottagers want around £1.5million for the former Southampton full-back but Rangers are struggling to stump up the cash so are set to ask for the 26-year-old on loan initially with a permanent deal in the pipeline for the summer. Baird has struggled to force his way into Roy Hodgson's plans in recent weeks and it's thought the Fulham boss will let him leave if he can hold on to key centre-back Brede Hangeland in the current transfer window. Not really a fan of Chris Baird but he's better than Kirk Broadfoot and Steven Whittaker and he can also play CB. If this is a short term replacement for Madjid Bougherra then I wont be happy. Baird is pish, hes a championship player who has had some fantastic games for northern ireland it has to be said.
