Gough, the floodgates are open

Never heard about Brown More Than. Being owned by one of them, never heard of such shite, must be going senile. To think how long he's been on the clubs books. Worse yet. Think these former players are trying to appear this way to please the press, tv, other clubs, and footballing bodies to curry favour for future jobs or something, the level of support for the club has been shameful.

If the prefix ex is used to describe their relationship to RFC then they have had their day, if they don't have the dignity to show any appreciation to the club and its fans then they should just be thankful to have represented the club and get on with their life and leave the people who actually care for the club to get on with it.

"You've got to milk that cow til it's dry"

What a shite attitude

He is Right. They have only a relatively short period during which they have to make as much money as they possibly can.

Because when their career as a footballer is finished how many of them have any other qualifications to take up another career.

Look at from this perspective no matter how much you love your own job, if your boss came to you and said we have to downsize and we want you to take a 75% wage cut. Would you do it?

Especially if some other company offered to pay you at least what you were earning originally. You would take it. You would be a mug not to.

We are fans and its alright for us to sit here and criticise and claim undying loyalty to the club we love. But they are in the end employees trying to further their careers and look after themselves and their families.:beer1:

UNREAL ,Mr Struth :praise: will be turning in his grave at the attitude these ex players showing , if they feel the need to talk ,at least make it constructive or tell the mhedia NO COMMENT

It's a short career being a cowboy columnist, you've got to milk that cow 'til it's dry.

Joking aside, anyone who expected any different from these players really must have been dreaming.

Now after sobering up a bit, all I can say is, any player who thinks they can just leave us is beyond description. At the very least I'd have thought they'd have at least brought some money into the club as some sort of transfer fee. If they are just going to leave us with a big signing on fee going to another club, well all I can do is wish them the worst playing career possible, & hope they are never heard of again.

Sorry mate, but footballs a different matter compared to other jobs. If u play for the Gers, it's a dream come true for you. Anyone who leaves us (especially with a big signing on fee) is just a money grabber. Even Naismith & Boyd gave up their signing on fee to killie when they signed for us. If I played for Rangers, I honestly would never leave even if my wages dropped to £100 a week. I'd play for free, until we got back on our feet. Take a page from McCullochs book. Hes a bluenose, if ever I saw one.

He maybe right that a year in the Third division won't help Rhys Mcabe's career. However, where does he, or indeed Rhys Mcabe for that matter, imagine he will be playing next season? The English premiership? The Championship? Regardless of what division we are in rangers are the best club he will have the chance to play for next season in terms of progressing his career. He will get regular football for sure. Any other youngsters at the club might do will to think about what is best before they rush to fuck off and leave us.

We are a massive club. But its the opposition they'd be facing. Playing elgin and berwick week in week out, will stunt a youngsters progress. No matter how many fans are watching.

The reality is. If were in division 3, going to a dundee utd, hibs, or even league 1 or 2 is a step up.

It would be a fairytale to think the same squad of youngsters can win 3 succesive promotions and emerge in 3 years, an elite force. It wont happen. If were playing at that level, we'll need players with lower league experience. Guys who've won promotions in the SFL, and mix them up with the likes of mcculloch. Young guys like Kai Naismith, Hutton, Hemmings and Cole could be mainstays in our team.

Yes I would play for nothing as well, but most of us are lifelong fans and to us it would be an honour to walk onto that Ibrox turf in a Rangers team.

However reality would eventually set in when you can't pay your bills. Yes I could survive quite nicely on 2,000 pounds a week but if you're used to 10 or 20 thou it would curtail your lifestyle a bit.

Sad to say but I've thought that Gough has been poor throughout this whole debacle.

He's our most successful captain (ever or post war I don't know) but his lack of input has been obvious.

He could have thrown his weight behind RFFF or otherwise got involved but he's done nothing. At least he could have went on record criticising Murray but like Walter he's still under his spell apparently.

When it's all weighed up in the balance some people will come out of this as Rangers legends some will see their former reputations tarnished.

I fear Richard Gough is in the latter category.

Spot on ,My feelings exactly .For me one of best ever legends and one player I wanted badly at Ibrox for the future but for the same reasons as you I don't want him any where near us now .What is it with tabloids and there Devils gold .Why do so many rich ex players feel the need to take it and stick the boot in .At least big Mark has learned his lesson now and 90% gets behind us ,Maybe Gough should be getting a call

Thats what i was arguing with my pal about last night. His argument was, the players get paid too much anyway. Mines was, could he take a 75% wage cut?

The answer is no. Weve all got bills to pay. Ok, a player might be on 5 times my wage. But his mortgage will be 5 times mine, his car will cost 5 times more, and his burds tits will be 5 times bigger than mine. Mine will drop her drawers after a bottle of cheap tesco wine, but a footballers might need a bottle of dom and a 5 grand bracelet.

once this sorry mess is over , not only will i remember the enemy that has took joy in kicking us on the floor, i will also remember our so called friends.

while the every day fan of us has stood up and did their best (turning up to games in their thousands, marching, giving what cash they could spare) players seen as legends to the people who payed them , day after day seem to take a kick.

As for the millionaires who claim to support us and have our best interest at heart, these guys sicken me, they had a chance to stop this, to buy us at a knock down price, but choose not to put their hand a little deeper intoo their pocket..

imo, me paying £500 for my season ticket is a lot harder , financially ,than the jim mccoll's of this world spending say £10 m.

only my opinion of course.

They were led up the garden path when they took a 75 per cent wage cut as the club staggered from administration towards liquidation.

The players thought if they took the cut they would be safe. Look how that turned out.

Now the players have no idea which division Rangers will even be playing in.

Is it going to be in the SPL, the First Division or the Third Division? We just don't know.

Deary me Richard, you really have made a mess of things again.......................................

Re the above the players took the cut to save redundancies within the staff.............also all during the negotiations agents would be hammering out various clauses for their clients to move on......one that was mentioned was that they had a clause re whyte and they could move on if he was still involved, another that we do know about was they could decide to leave if an agreed bid came in for them..............now re newco this according to their advisors is that they can refuse and move on for nothing, the club disputes this. Now it is a case of who has received the correct advice on this matter, or as many will think Green has lied re his statement.

As for people who have decided to leave and according to our manager he has not been informed.......so that says they do not like Ally? or they do not have the good manners or the balls to face him and tell him they are off..........................

Now if true......................

McCabe.............Self confessed Rangers fan and from Rangers family, this is shocking...what he has played a dozen 1st team games. So you would have to think that he would have approached the club and said ......look I want out , my agent has fixed me up with this amount, but becasue I love the club that I followed I am willing to move over as long as you immediately let me move for this fee.

Aluko.............. Doesn't owe us anything and teams seeing the vast improvement and more consistency playing with far better players than that team he was with that can't even get into the top 6 in the spl.

Lafferty...........the badge kisser, think we all knew as soon as this happened we would be off.........nothing to do with him getting married in the chapel or the hassle he brings upon himself re the spud-u-likes...............no he is moving for the big bucks............he will be one of these players that when his career is all over , will say , what the fuck happened to all that money I earned.

How can players make any sort of decision just now apart from self gain..........they haven't met with the owners as yet.........they don't know what league.......so can't make decision based on football reasons..........oh wait Europe , well yes no Europe for 3 years ok that could be what maybe 4 games ...........so 4 games dictates they move for football reasons I do not think so.............Every player we have has been up for grabs the last 3 years or so...............no real bids....Miller left for peanuts or he would have been off at the season end for hee haw...Boyd left under freedom of contract................Davis .Greegs............every top team in the EPL looks for a top keeper and midfield players that can make rins from deep.....yet no bids................look over the last number of years at Man U .Spurs and Arsenals search for a goalkeeper no ral offers for Alan, now we know how stunning a keeper he is.......so could it be his personal life that has been the problem.

The two players mentioned ..well we don't know what the score is with them and Naisy yeah teams will look at him.....the top tier not sure of....why .....the stigma of two major injuries that could rule him out of a top team move and hence Europe as our other tow assets. You would like to think if these guys do decide to refuse the newco then the fact that they are superb Rangers fans you would hope they agree a deal to sign on and move on if that's what they want

Also all this Walter and the realRangers fans wanting to buy and tbk and their behaviour and Dave Kings doom and gloom interviews ......would also fuel the agents in their move to get their clients to move and line the agents pockets.

Really Richard go and enjoy the Californian Girls .......and just for Devlin a wee story about Richard.........years ago Davy Robertson invited the players out for a meal for the birth of his son....that well known Italian at Kelivnbridge anyway got a call to go down to Buzzy Wares later for a beer with them.....so gooing down the stairs to the bar........Neil Murray was coming up with Craig Moore , so Neil asks why I wasn't at the meal and told me who was in the bar, Craig Morre offers his hand and said hi please to meet you I'm Craig Moore I play for Rangers Right back to the story.so heads downstairs (forgot to say invited a mate to come for the beer) went to the bar and Goughie said hi big man hows it going , before I said did he enjoy the meal he said......a few of the boys are over there...now I had been phoned and told to get doen for a beer..but before I could say this, he said, yeah as captain and the fact we have lost a couple of games told the boys today that.leave your cars call your Mrs we are going for a meal and a drink to sort this slump out.yes and recall what I said about Davy Robertson taking them fro meal for the birth of his son 9 he ended up that night booting fuck out a car steaming.Davy liked the bevvy.anyway he was offered a beer as i was ready to ask the rest of the guys what they wanted , he said later I am getting these girls a few drinks so off he toddled with the drinks for the 4 or 5 females,,,,,,just then Stuart McCall came to the bar said put your money away there's a kitty behind the bar and cue barman............. Richard has cleaned out the kitty by buying those females about 6 rounds....................so this is Richard thought the world owed him a living because he was Captain of Rangers.well Richard what about a little support for the club.

So Devlin did I drop enough names in our will I tell you the rest of the players there that night

Gough is not a legend he is a bellend, fuck off Gough you wanker how dare you turn on us like that, we will remember ya fuckin dick

Aye fucking spot on mate , gough must be fuckin delighted that his old team dundee hibernian don't want us in the spl and also want us punished .Gutted when former players come out the woodwork as speak like this. As for players leaving for hee haw , if they are supposed Rangers men , they could have at the very least stayed with us no matter what league we will be in , until the next transfer window , then leave so we can get some sort of fee for them , I mean lafferty(for talking sake ) has been here for a few years ,on BIG MONEY , a born BEAR by all accounts ,he could possibly have the financing to afford a six month spell on lower wages ,then when transfered ,he could have it written into his (leaving contract ) that when we are back on our feet financially as a Club he gets paid back his shortfall ,or not if he chose to .Money talks ,although when at Rangers ,Loyalty talks louder
