It's never been proven what incident initiated the disaster.

Some suggest fans reacted to Stein's goal, others suggest there was congestion and possibly falling before Stein scored as the fans were leaving before the final whistle.

This is the most interesting account I have read and suggests an initial fall was to blame, not the reaction to the late goal.

The disaster began some minutes after the final whistle and that account is correct about the cause being someone being carried on shoulders taking a fall.

Unfortuntely assists were not accounted for until recent years, but I suspect Alan Morton, Willie Henderson and Tommy McLean especially would figure at the top,

The two Derek's, Johnstone and Parlane scored so many goals from McLean's pin point crossing and passing.(As did Colin Jackson from crosses).

Wonder how many goals Boyd would have ended up with if he never left us?

Tbh I don't think much more - he's done fuck-all of note since he left bar a half decent season with Kilmarnock before the signed for us again - Middlesbrough, Forrest, that Turkish club, us again, Kilmarnock for the third time etc.

Copying and pasting all the scorers of over 100 goals from this wikipedia page really isn't all that impressive and sort of ruins it for everyone else.

It's obvious he would have to get that info online from somewhere - you don't for a minute think that people would have thought he remembered it, ffs.

We will never know the actual cause IMHO - it happened - and rightly it will never be forgotten . Until today I believed the common 'wisdom' was some of the crowd turning back after steins late goal.

You been to China, and the country known as The Republic Of China (Taiwan) then Chineseboy. As a Chinaman do you include Hong Kong as a separate country ?

And some time in the near future you could be adding an independent Scotland to the list. (as poster tannerall sets match to touch paper.............)

First of all, I'm Scottish born and bred. Yep, I lived a while in the south of Taiwan, and also a couple of years in China. Never been to HK though. Scotland will never be "independent."

You say we will never know the actual cause, but still give a snidey "whatever" to JCD when he gives his opinion on what caused the disaster. Yeah that makes sense.

I can tell you what happened because I was there.   You wouldn't be so flippant if you had seen it.

I don't think liking your post is appropriate but I thought you must have been there when you posted earlier.

It must have been awful witnessing such a traumatic thing :(

You always hear of severely autistic people having one incredible skill, like playing the piano by ear or doing complicated arithmetic in their heads. He could be an Idiot Savant who has an incredible memory for Rangers related trivia.
