  1. Not only in Glasgow did you get the Green and the Pink. I can remember Belfast in the early '60;s. About 80 O'clock I would leave my mates in the pub and go round to Castle Junction in central Belfast and get them straight off the plane. Same as Glasgow, we only got the early editions but at 8 o'clock.
  2. The original poem was written by Blue Cyclops and posted on RM a number of years ago.
  3. Guarantee banners and anything pro ulster is taken off us at the gates. =========================================================================================== Instead of political/religous banners how about every bear wears a white medical face mask to hide the smell of moral corruption hanging round the bumbandit bowl.
  4. name='Frankie' timestamp='1371120841' post] Our fans are more intent in slagging each other off. Divide and rule. Liewells playing a feckin' blinder.
  5. Divide and rule! Liewells playing a fecking blinder.
  6. Maybe some legal expert out there can clarify for me the implications of this decision. Rangers are not full members of the SFL and had no say or vote in this decision. Presumably that means we are bound by this decision? BUT------------ If it transpires in future that the SPL finances were not disclosed in full before the vote can Rangers refuse to honour the TV contract and/or liabilities of the SPL? Could we then negotiate our own TV tights and claim back the money they stole from us under false pretenses? Can we shaft the baxxards?
  7. I'm 3rd from left and I took the flag over with me. Tell me JCD, were you ever a member of Grootvlei? Your face looks familiar.
  8. I would class "world class" as being considered for a World.v. Mars squad. Maybe not automatic pick but good enough to be in the possibles. I could further split them into 3 groups. 1. Rangers/Scots who were Rangers men. 2. Young players who were not world class with us but who went on to better things. 3. Players who had been world class but came to us on the way down. 1. Baxter, Henderson, Cooper, Jardine, Baxter, Baxter and Baxter and I would argue a case for Eric Caldow. 2. Gatusso and Gio. 3. The De Boers, Gazza, Caniggia, Numan, Thern
  9. I'd say 55. I know that this will be a 2nd. class title but we should also add the war time titles as well. What a kick in the goolies for some people that would be. After putting all that effort into trying to strip titles they find that the gap has widened. And while we're at it :- I think Coisty should make a cheeky offer for some of their players. and why would they sign for a 3rd. Div,. club :- to gain the experience of playing in front of 48000 every other week. (I'm ignoring yesterdays crowd figures, my memory can be as selective as theirs.
  10. I bought a book quite a few years ago in a 2nd. hand shop. Tam Gemmil the Scum left back had written one of the chapters. He said that of the two players (Johnstone and Henderson) he preferred playing against Jinky. He said Johnstone could tie you in knots with his tricks but he was never worried because he knew Johnstone would have to come back and do it again. With Wee Wilie he said he never had that luxury. You were playing on the edge every time because you knew once Henderson was past you it was all over. You were never going to get a second chance.
  11. I've long been of the opinion that Rangers future should lie in Europe not England. I've posted as such on a number of occassions, Lets be honest here, Rangers in their present state are a million miles away from being invited to join any European league in any format. But lets look at any advantages such a league might bring and how we might use it to our advantage. One of the main criticisms of FIFA/UEFA is the amount of corruption in both bodies. They have a captured market and have bought the votes and influence they need to stay in power. There will never be any change so long as they hold the purse strings cos, no one will bite the hand that feeds them. This new suggestion, if it comes to fruition, opens up a whole new raft of possibilities however. Suddenly for the first time, FIFA/UEFA have competion for the clubs loyalty and support. They do not have the monopoly on purse strings any longer. In such a situation it will be in their interests to consider arrangements they have consistently knocked back in the past. As long as they kept the big clubs happy then the little guys could be kept happy with the crumbs but now they need us to ensure their continued survival. Suddenly cross border leagues, more equitable distribution of money, etc,. become possibilities. I'm not saying such things will happen, but with a new sugar daddy on the scene, the powers that be have to look at other options. Suddenly Rangers with a proven massive support (this season/Manchester) become an attractive suitor in a new set up. All this might well be pie-in -the sky, but while the current corrupt cabal in EUFA and SPL hold the power then everyone is held to ransom and no one will risk challenging the status-quo. The game (world/ Europe and Scotland) needs a new banker and game changer, this might well be it.
  12. Would the fact that we are an "associate member" scupper his theory? ===================================================================================================== I raised this point a few weeks ago in another thread. Everything proposed depends on the TV deal having Rangers on board. What are the implications if Rangers tell them that, since we have not had a vote on this then we are not obligated to honour any deal signed without our permission. We will not agree to Rangers being included in any agreement. I'm sure that legally we would be in breach but what if we make it a trial of strength? Try dealing behind our backs and we will f**k you all up. More diplomatically off course.
  13. We shouldn't be surprised at C*ltic being surprised at the outcome of the commission. People who live in their own fantasy world frequently are surprised when reality hits home. But lets realise where all this is coming from. What is it with C*ltic and "documentary proof" The only report of £47m appears to be the DR. No proof, no evidence, no sources. Just a newspaper report. The accusations in the DR------- Not worth the paper they're written on. This whole witch hunt started with accusations of "side letters". There was "proof" of cheating. HMRC and the law lords commission decided no cheating involved. The side letters--------------------Not worth the paper they're written on. Just last year (for the second time) a Peadophile was discovered operating inside C*ltic park. Thousands of pornographic photo's of children (s0me wearing C*ltic strips) were discovered in a cupboard. How much "documentary proof" do you need? Everything disappeared into space never to be heard off again. Peadophile pornography----- Not worth the paper it was written on. A few years ago the C*ltic chairman told the world that Saddam Hussein had WMD. He had a dossier to prove it. The dossier---------------------Not worth the paper it was written on. This outburst from Lennon is another of the good things which has happened to Rangers this week. The world is finally beginning to see the light of where the real hatred and bigotry resides.
  14. Suggested press release from Mr. Charles Green :- We note in todays ruling that "Oldco" Rangers have been fined £250 000 for Financial irregularities. This fine has no effect on Rangers FC and we are under no obligation to pay it. However, in the interests of "Sporting Integrity" we will honour this debt and Rangers FC hereby instruct the SPL to deduct this amount from the funds stolen from us in full and final settlement. Further more, Rangers FC must admit to another administrative oversight. For this we must thank our colleagues and rivals from the east end of Glasgow for showing us the error of our ways. From henceforth, Rangers will now be including the league titles won during wartime in the club honours list. Celtic have always done this in their records and in the interests of "sporting integrity" we feel Rangers should reciprocate. From now on it will be 61 and counting. Time for some petty revenge lads.
  15. Today's "sing-song" did not only shoot ourselves in the foot we shot ourselves in both feet. We have had many posts on here complaining about Paul Elliot being a liar and inventing incidents condemning Gers fans as racist. Well today Paul Elliot has had to resign from the FA's anti-racist committee FOR BEING A RACIST. And guess what-- Not a word will be in tomorrows papers about it because the howling mob now have something else to write about. Here was the perfect example of the double standards we have been complaining about for years and some one like Traynor could have made a statement about it and let the world know just what we are up against. But now he can't because we will be told pot, kettle black .Nuff sed!
  16. Training was tough today I hear. After the snowman drill the players went through a gruelling sledging session, had a fierce 7 aside snowball fight, then had a lovely hot cup of soup. =============================================================================================== He's got a new song already====== Snow surrender
  17. Whatever happens CG has took the bull by the horn and rather than except an unjust league reconstruction is forcing the SFA/SPL/SFL to think again or come up with an alternative, he's protecting his assets foremost and looking at alternatives just in case, he's a business man first. Also by doing so he makes the TV companies/sponsors nervous as what might be in the future, the SFA/SPL will buckle. ============================================================================================================================== I don't know the legal repercussions in this, but if CG is firing preliminary shots across the bows of SPL/SFA to test the waters, What would happen if he took the Boston Tea party line.? The American colonists used the slogan " No Taxation without Representation" in their fight with the British. Could this apply to us as well? The SPL refuse us any place in the discussions or allow us any votes in the decision and yet they must include us in any deal with Sky/ESPN. Like the colonists, can the SPL use us for their own enrichment while refuseing us any part in the decisions? Does anyone know enough to see any advantage to us in this tactic?
  18. IF we were ever to go to the Conference, it would take us at least 10 years before we could even think of reaching the Premiership. At least 10 years, probably longer, and while we are working our way through the divisions, the rest of Europe would happily carry on without us. I have been saying now for years, some form of Euro league is inevitable someday. The current talks about Ukraine/Russia and Belgium/Holland are only the beginning of the first tentative steps. In our rush to get out of Scotland (justified though it may be) we risk shutting the door on the bigger prize. Rangers are Scottish football, but by pulling out we leave the field clear for the Scum to be invited to any potential talks or discussions about a Atlantic/Euro league in the future. Any place at the top table is ours by right and yet we risk throwing it away just to prove a point. A European league is not going to happen tomorrow, but these preliminary talks /discussions are a clear signal.Change is coming and Gers must be at the top table in Scotland to qualify for invitation. Playing our way through the 2nd,. 1st,. and Championship English leagues takes us out of site and out of mind. The corruption in the SPL is becoming more blatant each day. We gain ourselves more kudos/ and good publicity by continuing to play in Scotland and exposing the rotten system behind it. Much as I detest the rotten cabal that is the SPl, Ally said it first---- WE DON'T DO WALKING AWAY.
  19. Just in case we can reinstate TBB a few non controversial alternatives .I'm sure someone can improve on these but they're a starting point for some discussion. Hello, Hello, we are the Billy Boys. Hello, hello, you'll know us by our noise, as we sing our songs of glory we're Rangers blue and true and we are the Billy Billy boys. OR Hello, hello we are the billy boys Hello hello you'll know us by our noise, Rangers then and, Rangers now and , Rangers evermore and we're still the Billy Billy boys. OR Hello hello we are the Billy boys Hello Hello you'll know us by our noise They tried their best to kill us off but we do'nt walk away for we are the billy billy boys.
  20. =========================================================================================================================== No, I just have not worded the OP clearly. The point I was trying to make is that the more SPL teams we try to bring down we might be doing Celtics job for them. My fear is that Celtic started this whole vendetta some years ago with the aim of gaining control of Scottish football and damaging Rangers as much as possible in the process. Our eventual money problems played right into their hands and gave them the opportunity to bury us for good. Should Scottish football be seriously weakened in the process then Celtic could (and surely would) use that to try and wangle their way out of Scotland by using their UEFA supporters to support their move to ?????. They have spent many years building up their victimhood status and any attempt to reorganise Scottish football lfrom the current corrupt set-up plays into their hands It might be a win/win situation for them. Things stay as they are and the SPL stays as a Celtic subsiduary. Things change and Celtic cry foul. I agree with one poster who said that UEFA don't give a damn about SPL but if it fails then Celtic have a possible escape route prepared.
  21. I have read quite a few posters giving their answers to the "forget and move on" brigade. While I understand their anger and bitterness against the SPL teams who tried to destroy us, lets take a step back and think first before we act in haste. Firstly, the planners and back stage instigators of the witch hunt to destroy Rangers are known to us. They are not a million miles away from the east end of Glasgow. They have taken "football rivalry" to new depths never seen anywhere in the world. We have all heard of mind games between managers and dirty tricks on the field to try and win a game, but nowhere in the world has there been the sustained blood lust to try and destroy another club and put them out of business. Government departments, the media, bank officials et al,. have been used to not only gain an advantage, but to actively collude in the destruction of another club. Moral corruption has sunk to new lows. Nobody else caused Rangers financial problems. Our troubles were self inflicted from within, but the howling mobs vindictive rush to "punish " us for our cheating was ugly and driven by hatred and bigotry pure and simple. The attacks on Rangers and their supporters had started some years ago. We had been demonised and condemned for years. Murrays failure to defend us and then Whytes dishonesty left us up "s**t creek without a paddle". Our enemies must have thought they had died and gone to heaven. and they were not slow to act on their new weapon. But they underestimated us. Rangers did not die. And now its pay back time. But think! These plans to take over Scottish football have been years in the planning. They are not just a reaction to circumstances. Our enemies are not stupid. Morally bankrupt, sure. Hate raddled bigots, definately. But never stupid. They have spent years building their support in UEFA and the media. They have ensured a continuous barrage of bad publiocity against Rangers. They have their anti-Rangers cabal in place in the corridors of UEFA. And this is where I urge caution. If we should destroy the SPL in a fit of revenge (much as we would like to)Then Celtic will simply play the victim card and claim that the big bad Protestant bigots are trying to destroy them. And their friends in UEFA and the media will listen. We will loose out again. Softly, softly catchee monkey. a
  22. What we are seeing now is the outworkings of a long term strategy to seize control of the SPL and damage Rangers reputation as much as possible in the process. We all know who the ringleaders are. They are based not a million miles from the east end of Glasgow . ,Problem is the people concerned have too much experience in corruption and propaganda. They have too many firewalls between them and the coalface. Even if some form of Government inquiry was started The best we could hope for is that the "usefull idiots" used by these people would be exposed. By "usefull idiots" I mean Philthy 3 names and the odious creep and others equally well known. I imagine Rangers would not have too hard a job to expose the corruption at the heart of Scotish football but exposing and punishing .the brains behind it is unlikely. Lets not allow paranoia to take over here. This cabal did not cause Rangers financial problems. That was the fault of SDM and even more so, Whyte. But when the full extent of Rangers problems became apparent to the Sellk minded at the bank and HMRC then they quickly realised they could damage Rangers more than they thought . They are morally corrupt politicians and had great plans to take over Scottish football and perhaps use that to squirm their way out of Scotland. Rangers tax problems gave them an opportunity to go further but it was just opportunistic on their part not part of some grand plan. .I think that the comparative silence from BBC and SSN re:- the result of the BTC, is that they now fear the repercussions of their actions over the last few years and are running for cover. SDM with his comments about his legal team examining the records and CG,s various comments over the past few months have set alarm bells ringing. There will be blood and certain people are making sure it won.t be theirs. The names of the witnesses against Rangers at the FTTT are being kept secret. Not a whisper is getting out about who they might be and yet highly sensitive information about Rangers tax affairs has been leaked on a regular basis. There are criminal proceedings and possible legal action against the individuals concerned on the horizon. I think Rangers can,and will clear their name. They will regain their reputation. .But I.m afraid that the rottenness at the heart of Scotland is a much bigger job.
  23. I signed it even though I haven't voted in the UK for many years now and have no intention of going back there just to vote. A little way from Windhoek (at the coast) but I'll meet you there for a beer one day and we can watch The Rangers together! ====================================================================================================================================== Is it Swakopmund then? I have always said that Namibia is the only part of Africa I would want to go back to and live. If I ever realise my dream, I'll meet for a beer as well. Mon the GERS.
  24. listen mate as everyone knows and has pointed out i didnt make it up,,,its been doing the rounds for days on numerous fan sites,,,,so dont make out i believe rangers died and all that,,,,if its hard for you to understand i will put it in simple terms just for you,,,,not once does it mention rangers in it,,,,its aimed at the the mhanks who say we died and are a newco,,,,,so fuck off with your shite ============================================================================================================================================ Too true M8. It's not the best joke Iv'e ever heard but it's not bad. I agree with you here. I,ve stopped posting recently because of the personal abuse I got on here because some people didn't appreciatte my sense of humour. My satirical wee poems ands songs don't suit everyones taste. Fair do's, you don't have to like them but ther's no need for offensiveness. Some people sing "No one likes us" . No fuckin' wonder LOL.
