Not sure if it’s been posted already but got to love his attitude.

Night and day to last year in central defence. It’s early days but I just hope we can avoid injuries and suspensions as their styles seem to compliment one another. Pity with the goal Goldson didn’t just get the side of the boot to the ball but he was solid for the rest of the game so can’t be too harsh. Goldson is captain material, cool and composed, leads by example and is very vocal at organising the defence. Here’s hoping we can get the best years of his and katic’s careers and form a formidable partnership.

Make no mistake lads this year is going to be much closer with the scum and all of the pundits, commentators, journos, SFA and SPFL board members all know it. As the fear kicks in more and more reekin comments and decisions etc. are going to come our way but I think Gerrard is already aware of what we will be up against and I have no doubt he’ll get the team united and ready for the fight.

Morelos needs to learn to fuck the defenders up but fairly i.e. during normal play, cunts are going to target him and he's rising to the bait but he needs to laugh in their face then wait for a 50/50 and go in hard like Flanagan is doing. It's reminiscent of something like Beckham's flick against Simeone, nothing in it but it lets the referee make that decision. McKenna barging him and Morelos reacting simply needed a word between the players to say you've had your last warning any more and you're in the book. Red card will be rescinded like most of Jack's last year but that doesn't help us get our lost 2 points back. All we ask for is fairness and consistency and all we seem to get is biased and/or incompetent decisions.

It really was a game of two halves. Our goal changed the game and rather than us attacking in the second half we protected our lead and they (knowing if they didn’t score were going to have a lot to do in the away leg) came out of the traps. I’m not concerned at the “dip” in second half performance because it was about game management (France did this well in the World Cup and it’s not a bad thing to have in your locker). One thing I would say is Flanagan should absolutely start at right back next week and put that Barisic in his place. He had far too much space and time and has a good cross on him. Can’t see Gerrard dropping his captain though so perhaps Kent on the right would give Barisic more to think about defensively than Murphy did.

So they noised themselves up saying we beat PSV we’ll beat Rangers, now saying we were lucky and they’ll do us over next week. Let them talk all they want we just need to approach it as we have been and be professional.

Honestly still think Tav is ready made for a wingback role in a 5-3-2 where he isn’t relied upon as much for defensive duties. We were damn lucky they weren’t able to capitalise on his missed headers, miscontrols, poor clearances. Against better opposition he’d have cost us as many as he created.

We get it Morelos isn’t that great a finisher. What if we’d had Andy Halliday playing against Aberdeen in 96 instead of Gazza?

It’s a good shout, they did something like this in Spain but not a full 90 mind. The hooded line is spot on. Continue to play underperformers (even if you think you have no other option) and you will breed complacency and it matters not one big that Steven Gerrard is your manager if he continues to reward poor performances with starting place the following game they’ll never up their levels. I was really hoping for Wilson to join as he’d have played in Windass’ role and we’d see whether windass was up for the challenge or throw a hissy fit. With Morelos I’m hoping Sadiq gets the nod (clearly the manager thought it was too much to ask of Rudden). we are severely short of options up top so I can only hope we get a couple of signings in these positions before next Thursday. Solanke and Woodburn would do nicely but Liverpool aren’t in any rush to loan them out.

Between leg 1 and 2 of the 2nd qualifying and I think we definitely need some game time before leg 1.

Just wondering if anyone has heard anything about a bounce game between now and next Thursday. Its a long time without a match for a team that looks incredibly rusty. Sadiq and Coulibaly would surely need a game as well before being put into the first team in a competitive game against (presumably) Osijek. That said if Gerrard and Allen are going to focus on getting a striker and a creative midfielder in during this time I would rather we did that.

I’m willing to give the guys a good few games before weighing in with the he’s shite line. Both Morelos and windass could have had 5 goals between them tonight but I can write that off as pre-season rustiness. They got into the positions but couldn’t take some bloody good chances which whilst pissing me off no end I can give them some time. Whats clear is we need competition. Not one striker on the bench so Morelos knew he had the whole game and tbh he was lucky with the head clash but once again rising to the bait and would have won a penalty had he not thrown his arms up in the air and taking his feet off the ground as he did. Would love to see Wilson and Solanke in to really give Gerrard options. In saying this if Cardiff offered £5m tomorrow for windass I’d do it for certain but Morelos definitely has ability he just needs to work hard on his finishing.

It was 4-3-3. listen to Arfields post match interview and he talks about the rotation with ross and Danny and the guys up front did the same. The thing is if you play a fluid system it can appear like 4-1-4-1 or 4-2-3-1 at times but I believe it’s 4-3-3.

If he keeps progressing as he has been then I think he’s going to be a mainstay for years to come. I just hope we can keep players like him rather than lose them to the wages down south before they properly make it.

If we get him involved gradually I think we’re onto something good. We have no need to throw him in the deep end so just use him when it makes sense I.e. when games are won, then increase his game time gradually. I like the fact we have options on the left as we now have a full back and inside forward both naturally right footed and a full back and winger both naturally right footed. Hes direct, not afraid to get stuck in, looks to be determined so here’s hoping we do this right and give him enough time to develop.

It’s hardie’s first opportunity at getting a run of games in the top division and it’s last chance saloon. If he can score for them as one of the weaker teams in the division then he might get a chance with us but if he shows he’s suited to championship then that’ll be the end of his Rangers career
