Jelavic Thread

As Everton are my 2nd team I'm a bit confused, they have less money than us so where they are finding £10m from I'll never know (even taking account of the recent sale)

Happy that Helavic would be going there but not happy we are selling Jelavic at all though.

Jelavic has 2.5 yrs lft on his deal, so we should be holding out until the summer if we aren't getting our value now.

They wont bid anywhere near the £7-8 million we need....just testing our resolve to keep him probably with a lowish bid.

Everyone knows we have knocked back a £7m bid already, so to bid any less would be idiocy.

That's what our transfer policy has been - come in with a low bid and basically not follow up on it with a serious offer.

Keep our top scorer and if he had a half decent Euros then we will get our money easily, it would make no sense to sell him for a low amount when in all honesty we will not get anywhere near the same quality back in. It would be different if Naisy was still kicking about in the team but losing our 2 top scorers and replacing them with last minute Beattie punts will give them the title.

Who would they have to offer if it was money plus a player? If it were 5 million plus a couple million pound player who was half decent, I would take it if I was Ally. We wouldnt get any money but we would probably have a better player coming in that Ally will be allowed to bring in.

Tbh this isn't the kinda bidding war I was hopeful would happen for Jelavic  if I didn't laugh I'd cry. :disappointment:

Sold that Russian guy for £5 million the other day.

Forgot about him (tu) was reading about it on a website the other day, said he struggled with the game in England, any time I seen him last season he looked not bad.

There squads not massive mate so I can't see any real quality players being part of it.

Reading that link about and they think we will sell at £4 million? Idiots.

4million!!! Hahaha NO CHANCE! I was looking and see that they have Victor Anichebe, Apostolos Vellios and McFadden as strikers, maybe one of them plus 5million. Not sure tho if I would be into that.

Sky Sports sources understand Everton have made an official offer to sign Rangers' in-demand striker Nikica Jelavic.

Everton boss David Moyes is eager to boost his attacking options before the close of the transfer window and has been linked with Wolves forward Kevin Doyle.

He is also a fan of Jelavic and has launched a raid for the Croatiainternational ahead of Tuesday's transfer deadline.

Jelavic missed Rangers' 4-0 win over Hibernian on Saturday through illness after attracting interest from West Ham Unitedearlier in the transfer window.

The 26-year-old has also been linked with Everton's local rivals Liverpool and Queens Park Rangers,as Gers boss Ally McCoist seeks to hang on to his leading scorer.

McCoist revealed before the weekend that he was hopeful of keeping Jelavic at Ibrox, but subsequently commented that the victory over Hibs proved Rangers could cope without him.

However, Everton are now in pole position to snap up Jelavic and are locked in talks with Rangers in the hope of finalising an agreement before the window shuts.

Sources close to the player say that Jelavic is eager to move to the English Premier League and it would be a dream come true to play in the division.

Everton have money to improve their squad after selling Russian winger Diniyar Bilyaletdinov to Spartak Moscow for an undisclosed fee.

They still have the Arteta money do they not?

Cska have had a 6 million bid knocked back, plus I canny see Jelavic going to Russia.

Can't see it either unless he fancies a massive pay day! Money daft Russians....Oooft goad goal there by Bent!
