Vaping within Ibrox

I’ll admit to still using my vape, without doubt it helped me chuck the fags, I do have a puff of it at half time down stairs where it’s allowed, but as far as I know it’s never been permitted in your seat. I don’t attempt to use it during the game anyway but every time I see somecunt use it they are always told pronto by stewards it’s not allowed.
determined to get off this now also, as I’ve absolutely no inclination of smoking cigarettes again, it’s definitely time to give this a bye also.

Vaping is simply fucking bad for you and will be under all the same bans as fags pretty soon.

You'd think a fucking steam train was coming at you the way some use it.

It's full of carcinogens, albeit less than the fags and then there's the new lung disease from it as found in the US.

The days of the free use of vapes are coming to an end and thank fuck for that.

Vaping is better than smoking, when someone vapes you can see the air they breath. You however, exhale invisible toxicity.

Ignorance, intolerance and bullshit.

God save the queen, the union and The Rangers.

Get fucked.

People who like a drink can manage to get through the 90 mins+ but you folk can't?   Invisible toxicity my fucking arse, our opinion can be ignored, your fucking cloud of toxins cannot, do you have the ability to guide your cloud away from non-smoker noses?

Smokng is deadly, as vaping has now been proven deadly. Fact.

To state that when someone vapes  you can see the air they breath is utter nonsence and borne out of ignorance. What you do see is bad enough, but what you don't see is worse obviously. Unless you have the power of a microscope as eyesight, you cannot see something that is airborne at a molecular level. The vapour that you do see is the boiled liquid and toxic residue interacting with a colder environment. That contains carcinogens enough along with other toxins, so where the fuck do they áll go? That's right, they don't go away and evaporate into nothing. The majority of which having already lodged in your airways and lungs.

The ignorance was in promoting a product that everyone new contained proven carcinogens and chose to ignore the fact that as a new product, the timeline of it's use was negligible in being able to adequately assess the long term effects of it's use.

The consequence of it's use is now fully proven, ie can result in death. This is another product where you pays your moneyand takes your chances.

I have absolutely no problems with anyone smoking tobacco or vaping. Just don't fuckng do it in public spaces where others can be exposed to such deadly toxins.  If I had a wish to die I sure as hell would want it to be by my hand in my time and not by some fucking ignoramus too deluded to understand that what they are doing can kill them. Now carcinogens aside, then there is the fucking smell.  Therein lies the only bullshit and intolerance in willfully exposing others to it.

70% of tobacco smokers die of smoking related illness. The death rate amongst vapers has yet to be established as the timeline to fully establish it with any accuracy has not yet been reached, but the link has indeed been clearly established.

You want to kill yourself and yours, fine, but do it around you and yours in your own space and don't contaminate my fucking oxygen.

Common sense is not a trait that the ignorant and the deluded are blessed with.

utter shite, i already explained what caused deaths earlier in the thread, if folk are stupid enough to vape vitimin e or oil based products then thats on them, normal vape liquid doesnt contain this and there have been no vape related deaths from using normal liquids without diacetyl and vitimin e. research first before you spout pish.

You're not listening.

The vast majority of tabacco related lung cancer deaths are in the 50 to 70 age group, after 30 to 40 years of puffing. Vape also has known carcinogens,, fact, but the scientific community cannot fully evaluate the impact to health as the timeline for this new product is still far too short.

The vape deaths thus far have ndeed identified the vit E as part of this new lung disease, but none can rule out that the actual cause is from the other additives commonly found in all vape products.

The fact is, the are carcinogens in vape products, vit E or not, but as I said, the risk is all yours, but ffs, keep it to yourself. That would be a responsible vaper in having consideration of for others. Then there would be no issue.

Not sure exactly where i stand on vaping

I think we were headed the right way, this could have been th e generation that defeated nicotine addiction, certainly less people especially kids were smoking fags than when I was younger

Then vaping happened and all you see now is teenagers vaping, i reckon more people have nicotine addiction now than 10 years ago

The fact they claim it's safe means folk puff their vapes all day long, then you look at some of the packaging and its certainly directed at kids.

In the states some states are banning flavoured vapes,  I'm against government regulations like that but as the same time I think it would help stop people getting into vapes

I certainly believe its safer than smoking but I dont believe it's as safe as some make it out to be

do you know how the vape products were tested to show there were carcinogens? they held the fire button on the mod with no suction on the actual tank, this will almost definatly cause there to be carcinogens in the smoke that gets produced, this is because the metal coils and cotton were actually combusting, vaping works on a capiliary action, if you suck on it or draw air through while you use the tank the coils are cooled and its vape thats produced not smoke, this then dramatically cuts the amount of bad stuff in the vape, but until this vaping action is actually simulated properly in testing we wont know exactly, but like i said earlier i totally agree that nobody should have to put up with anyone elses habit.

I dont mind folk who vape to quit smoking, but the ones who treat it like a hobby or a lifestyle are fucking cringey, it's like 12 year olds smoking their first fag thinking it's cool as fuck

If smokers have to go outside then so should those puffing on the poof juice

I packed in completely off 30 a day with vaping then packed in vaping. Started vaping again as I was having odd fags and didnt want to get back into the habit that finished my mam off.

I wouldnt mind a smoking area as such but tbf I can go without. If you cant go without a smoke for 105 minutes then you've got issues tbf.

E-cigarette Basics

E-cigarettes are devices that heat a liquid into an aerosol that the user inhales. The liquid usually has nicotine and flavoring in it, and other additives. The nicotine in e-cigarettes and regular cigarettes is addictive. E-cigarettes are considered tobacco products because most of them contain nicotine, which comes from tobacco.

Besides nicotine, e-cigarettes can contain harmful and potentially harmful ingredients, including:

ultrafine particles that can be inhaled deep into the lungs

flavorants such as diacetyl, a chemical linked to serious lung disease

volatile organic compounds

heavy metals, such as nickel, tin, and lead

The vapor from electronic cigarettes contains two previously unidentified chemicals that can cause cancer, according to a new study. The new research, published in Environmental Science & Technology, also shows that levels of harmful chemicals vary between e-cigs.

Researchers in the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory used two different electronic cigarettes and simulated vaping at different battery power settings. Then they analyzed the e-cigs’ vapor. They found that the vaporizers released 31 harmful chemicals, including two possibly cancer-causing compounds that had never been previously found in e-cig vapor. The amount of chemicals produced varied, based on the temperature at which liquids are "vaporized" by the device’s "heating coil." The higher the temperature inside the coil, the higher the amount of chemicals emitted. E-cigs with one heating coil instead of two also released higher chemical levels, probably because two coils better distribute the heat between them, which means their temperatures don’t climb quite as high.

E-CIGS RELEASED 31 HARMFUL CHEMICALS

Previous studies had already shown that e-cigarettes contain toxic chemicals. In 2009, the FDA warned that some e-cigs contain diethylene glycol, an ingredient used in antifreeze. And in 2015, a study showed that aerosols from e-cigs contain formaldehyde, another carcinogen. Some of these chemicals are also found in cigarette smoke.

An e-cig with only one heating coil operated at 3.8 volts was found to emit 0.46 micrograms of acrolein — a severe eye and respiratory irritant — per puff in the first five puffs, while the coil was heating up. But when the heat got steady, the e-cig emitted much more: 8.7 micrograms per puff. The amount of acrolein released is still much less than a regular cigarette, which delivers 400 to 650 micrograms. About 20 puffs on an e-cigarette release 90 to 100 micrograms in comparison.

"Advocates of e-cigarettes say emissions are much lower than from conventional cigarettes, so you’re better off using e-cigarettes," Berkeley Lab researcher and study co-author Hugo Destaillats said in a statement. "I would say, that may be true for certain users — for example, long time smokers that cannot quit — but the problem is, it doesn’t mean that they’re healthy.

Chemical emissions also changed based on the e-cig’s battery voltage. The higher the voltage, the higher the temperature in the coil — and the heat meant higher chemical amounts were released. Emissions also varied based on how long the e-cig had been used. The longer it was used, the higher the level of chemicals it released, including formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, and acrolein — which are all carcinogens or respiratory irritants. That’s because chemical residue was accumulated on or near the heating coil. As this residue was heated up, it released even more chemicals.

The researchers also analyzed two chemicals often used as solvents in e-cigs: propylene glycol and glycerin. Both are used to make artificial smoke, though little is known about whether it’s safe to heat and inhale them. The researchers found that the solvents created 31 harmful chemicals, including propylene oxide and glycidol, both of which are probable carcinogens. These two chemicals has never been reported in e-cigs before. This is possibly because e-cigarettes are relatively new compared to traditional cigarettes, which have been studied for more than 50 years.

THE USE OF E-CIGARETTES HAS SPIKED

The use of e-cigarettes has spiked: the percentage of US adults who smoke e-cigs rose to 8.5 percent in 2013 from 3.3 percent in 2010. And in 2014, nearly 13 percent of adults said they tried electronic cigarettes, according to the CDC. Though some experts think e-cigs are a good alternative for regular cigarette smokers, health officials are particularly concerned about how popular vapes are among teenagers. Many e-cigs contain nicotine and could expose children to the addictive chemical. In 2015, three million American teens used e-cigs. (In May, the FDA finally banned e-cig sales to minors.) But much more research is needed to actually understand how harmful they are.

The paper’s goal was to learn more about the risks of e-cigarettes, so that manufacturers, users, and regulators can try to minimize the harm the electronic cigarettes pose. "Understanding how these compounds are formed is very important," Destaillats said. "One reason is for regulatory purposes, and the second is, if you want to manufacture a less harmful e-cigarette, you have to understand what the main sources of these carcinogens are."

No, it hasn’t.  I took my son to a soft play a few years back and someone was vaping inside at a table right next to all the kids.  I know it’s not banned inside places like this but you would think a bit of common sense would be used.  There’s still nicotine and all sorts in these vapes.

You can’t trust people to use common sense so it needs to be banned.

Nicotine is harmless in small doses.  The difference is with cigs you are combusting material whereas with a vape you're just vapourising a combination of propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine.  The glycerine creates the illusion of smoke but really it's just steam.  Chances are you've eaten both this week just having your tea.
