  1. There is nothing wrong with the quality of the players we buy, it's the level of crap we have to play against week in, week out which results in complacency going into Europe. There is a reason that Scottish teams have struggled in Europe since the late 80's and it's sod all to do with the level of Player the Old Firm have been signing. It's all to do with them having to play progressively poorer teams season by season which has an impact on the level they then feel they need to play at. It's why the Old-Firm has suffered more this season as neither clubs have the money to bring anyone of consequence into the clubs.
  2. Agree with pretty much everything said. Also would like to pitch in with Davis should not be Captain. I personally don't think he communicates enough and while being captain it seems to affect his performance. Oh and we really missed Naismith. But other than that I thought we played OK we just couldn't finish, I'm sure I read that we had 17 shots on goal last night. Any other game we would have converted at least 3 of those.
  3. This is the result of years of zero investment by other teams in the League and fuck all money coming into Scottish football from other resources. Rangers and Celtic essentially play week to week against teams that would struggle in The Championship. It doesn't matter a fuck how much money we spend on our team if we are playing against dross every week. It's no fucking wonder we constantly get caught cold when the level suddenly jumps. We may as well face reality, football is now a money game and Scottish football has fuck all and we are all fucked. To put things into a solid perspective, Jelavic at £4.5 million probably wouldn't even get on the bench at most English Premier League clubs.
  4. As several others have written, the deadline is not for another month yet. Most teams with players in our radar/price range are also trying to qualify for CL or Europa League at the moment and probably don't want to lose players until they have either qualified or gone out. Same situation we had with Jelavic. If we want quality we will probably have to wait and as for Cuellar, he's fuckin injured so it doesn't matter when he's signed.
  5. Does he have any family members called Namouchi?
  6. Cut the guy some fuckin slack. He left in January when it was clear that the club as it stood couldn't offer him a new contract. He left, getting us a small fee and him off the wage book. I'm assuming this probably saved us over £1 million in total for the remainder of his contract including the fee. He still finished the SPL's top scorer despite this and I for one would welcome him back as unlike some strikers he seems to improve with age.
  7. After the pelters he undeservedly got here, he deserves all the success he now gets. A vastly undervalued player by the Rangers support and vastly unprotected by the Rangers management. He was booed as people unrealistically thought he should be running around like Novo every week. When given some time and space he can open a can of beans with his left foot and you will be hard pushed to find a better passer or dead ball specialist playing in the EPL at the moment. People on here still giving him pelters clearly have been watching him over the last couple of seasons with their eyes closed. Blackpool may have got relegated last season but he was the only reason they managed to hang in there so long.
  8. Players who don't want to be there usually don't perform well and have an overall detriment on the side. If we can get Carlos back along with another couple of younger centre backs then I wouldn't have any issue with punting them both to the reserves.
  9. Personally if we could afford it, get a couple of replacements in and drop both Bougherra and Whittaker down to the reserves. They can spend the season as backups. I personally wouldn't play someone who doesn't want to be at the club. As for Whittaker he should stop listening to his agent who seems to think he's one of the top 4 players at the club. He's barely one of the top 4 defenders at the club.
  10. So in other words it's all a load of crap. I'm pretty sure that any company or individual would go bust if they got given a bill they couldn't pay. What an utterly stupid question to ask. To be honest I expect as much from Chick Young as he has proven with some of his bouts of stupidity in the past. This is the man that suggested to WS that Brian Laudrup wasn't good enough to play in Europe after all.
  11. Our problem at the moment is our need to integrate, effectively, an entirely new frontline with the exit of Miller. This also means a new way of playing upfront. That is where the problem is. Miller was so fundamental to the way we play that his loss to the team was huge. It will take time for the midfield to adjust to the new front players and I include Jelavic in that as he has missed 4 months. I'm confident that once our midfield start playing to the strengths of Jelavic and EHD and not lumping balls into the corner for the non-existent Miller to chase we'll start improving considerably. As for Weir, the guy has no pace, can't pass and has started to look 40 in recent games. I do think that come the end of the season he will knock it on the head before someone knocks him on the head. Papac and Whittaker are affected more than Bougherra imo, in particular Papac who constantly has to run in behind Weir to cover for his lack of pace which in turn diminishes his ability to go forward which in turn hurts the team.
  12. Have contacted them in the past over several balls ups on the site and parts not working and only ever get the reply that the site at present is optimised for Internet Explorer and Windows Media. If you are using an alternative browser please switch to Internet Exploder to get an optimal experience. This leads me to believe that the web design company are muppets working off some software they bought from a liquidated resource from Hong Kong 10 years ago. The site is awful and badly needs redeveloping using current web standards.
  13. Can see us getting a couple of draws and perhaps a surprise win. Other than that I really do fear for the worst, particularly away to Man U and Valencia. Would love to see us surprise everyone though and actually qualify from the group which in itself would be an outstanding achievement and one the players owe Walter from last seasons debacle. Best case scenario is Man Utd (H) Draw Man Utd (A) Loss Valencia (H) Win Valencia (A) Loss Bursaspor (H) Win Bursaspor (A) Draw Giving us 8 points and hopefully 2nd place. Realistically though I can't see us picking up more than 5.
  14. With Hutton and Whittaker in the team we need two wide midfielders that can defend as those two are likely to spend a great deal of their time up the pitch. McFadden for all his ability going forward is a liability going the other way. If it's still level with 25 minutes left I would, however, expect to see him come on. Against Lichtenstein I would expect him to start as we won't be doing as much defending.
  15. I could walk into the team from that period and I struggle up stairs.
  16. To be prefectly fair with regards to Jelavic, he has agreed terms with us and his team had agreed a fee with us then changed their mind.
  17. What they think he's worth, no doubt. Like Eagles, if he thinks he's worth more he'll go back to his club.
  18. We offered Eagles twice his current salary. Other than Ally offering to wash his car twice a week I fail to see what else they should have done. Eagles or his Agent think he's worth more than 18k a week so good luck with that.
  19. I cannot believe the amount of utter pish people are posting on here. Lee is a versatile player who can and will play in virtually any position he's asked to for the good of the team. Despite what some muppets on here are writing, he's a very good footballer, not world class by any means but hard working and reliable. He's been capped multiple times, played and scored many times in the English top tier and happily plays in a non natural position because he would rather play for the team than himself. He deserves to be offered a contract extension and I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if he's taken a drop in salary to do so. I honestly despair at some of the drivel being posted on here with regards to, imo, one of our better players. For those saying that some of the youngsters are better players or he shouldn't be allowed to wear a Rangers shirt you need to take a reality check or fuck off or both.
  20. Chris Woods - 8m Andy Goram - 10m Stefan Klos - 8m John Greig - 15m John Brown - 3m Arthur Numan - 12m Terry Butcher - 8m Richard Gough - 8m Lorenzo Amoruso - 5m Craig Moore - 3m Jim Baxter - 25m Ray Wilkins - 12m Ian Durrant - 15m Graeme Souness - 15m Stuart McCall - 6m Brian Laudrup - 25m + Alexei Mikhailichenko - 8m Davie Cooper - 20m Jörg Albertz - 12m Paul Gascoigne - 15m Mark Walters - 8m Ralph Brand - 10m Ally McCoist - 25m Mo Johnston - 12m Mark Hateley - 15m Gordon Durie - 10m Derek Johnstone - 15m All figures are rough and based on how much we'd have to pay to get them. If we were selling knock around 50% off. Put it this way we could just about scrape together the cash for Bomber Brown or Craig Moore.
  21. Wikipedia is wrong oddly enough, he's scored 6 goals for since leaving us. http://www.lfp.fr/joueur/index.asp?no_joueur=117701 His goal per game ratio is epic.
  22. You are really not getting this Graham are you ? Im not having the arguement "well they do it" and thus there should be no bad headlines when we do it. Let me re-iterate a earlier post I made. So your argument is, people attending football matches should be able to sing whatever they want whether religiously offensive, politically offensive or racially offensive and do it without fear of criticism or retribution? Just would like to clarify this.
