  1. Was welling up a bit reading some of that - I don't mind admitting. :praise: Dogged school (think i was in 5th year) to go to his funeral. I saw him a fair bit for Rangers but maybe too young to 100% appreciate that he was one in a million.
  2. I agree with the OP - we need our own list of decisions calmly put into the public domain to calm these bastards down. Im all for laughing at the paranoid fools but it's do my head right in now. I'll help with some suggestions:- Last season. JVOH "penalty" and Haining sent off in first game vs St Mirren. 1-0. 2nd game. Dundee Utd denied stonewall penalty against Tims at Tannadice. 1-1. 3rd game of season - McManus punches one into goal vs Falkirk. Beasley's goal chopped off vs Aberdeen 1-1 Boyd's goal chopped off vs Motherwell 0-0 Broadfoot's "goal" but foul given on Boruc Old Firm game - Fortune anyone? This season Whittaker stonewall penalty turned down at Aberdeen - beat 1-0 Novo penalty not given bersus Hibs - 3-0 Gers
  3. Not sure on that one, think he would make a great coach but unsure about Manager. I think we owe him a player/coach offer at the very least. Would be great to have him around for another year with Wilson - stepping in occassionally if required. Well done Davie!! :praise:
  4. My concern is that as this drags on and on Murray may become less principled in who he sells to. I think it's positive with the independant board formed for the review and the stated goals of ensuring that the offer is in the club's best interests. I know a lot of these things are spin but at least it's there and there is something to hold them to account on. Whilst Johnston is a Murray man i don't imagine he is the type of guy who would like his name attached to a bad deal for Rangers. CB - from what you know is the 2nd consortium more inspiring than this Ellis character?
  5. Boyd and Wilson. Boyd - has improved his overall game so much this season and still snatched 22 goals so far. Davis a very close 2nd. Wilson - easily the biggest youth impact.
  6. Hmmmm interesting - single for 9yrs. - own jewelery range - gay twitter page Anyone else thinking Radio Tokyo?
  7. Rangers fans have short memories FFS. Alex McLeish was in charge during our biggest period of downsizing ever. He made us £17m net in the transfer market I believe Walter has spent about similar net - a £34m swing! - 2 last day title triumphs - Lovenkrands cup final - League cup final win against Celtic - First Scottish club to make the CL last 16, a Boyd swipe away from the quarters. He performed fucking miracles on the budget he had and he is a top class manager. Unfortunately is was probably time for him to go because the budget had been slashed so much that he was struggling to compete with Celtic when Strachan came in and spent a wad of cash. He will go on to manage a top 4 club in England. Would have been interesting to see what he could have done with £30m of transfer cash to spend.
  8. Brilliant just watched that for about 3minutes. Has a slightly hypnotic, intoxicating effect.
  9. "When does this comeback start then John Reid? You warmongering, lying, IRA supporting bastard." Too strong???
  10. What has Celtic's latest commercialy motivated Asian signing got to do with anything? I thought he was terrible when he came on Sunday anyway. No shit Was my humour a touch subtle on that one for you??? Ban Ki Moon as in UN Secretary General
  11. What has Celtic's latest commercialy motivated Asian signing got to do with anything? I thought he was terrible when he came on Sunday anyway.
  12. Soft but a sending off 8 times out of 10. He should have been booked beforehand for constant dissent so even a yellow would have seen him off.
  13. Sorry if it's a repost but just saw a youtube clip of Edu's goal and noticed TBO's brilliant banner:- "At least Barnes could rap" Top drawer boys.
  14. Fucking hell!! Why not just pay Boyd another £7k per week for another 3years. That's £1m to secure what would be Rangers 2nd top scorer (he would be by then) of all time.
  15. I'm not slagging him off. I'd get behind and support any player who puts the blue top on, but all I was saying was that I don't think he is anything special as a player. He does all the hard work that goes unoticed but Thomson can do all that as well as being a better player. As I said i'd love to be proven wrong! Jeezo - far too many people think a returning player should just slot right back into where he was. 2nd competitive 90mins in 9months against a 5 man StMirren midfield. Great to have him back to rotate with McCullloch and Thomson where necessary in the run-in. He'll become a smashing player - great athlete, good passing, box to box, hard worker and scores some goals.
  16. I'd suggest you walk immediately to your kitchen cupboard. Open the jar marked Nescafe. Inhale deeply and for a prolonged period. Understand what you are saying but you expect a multi-millionaire businessman to have some grasp of a business plan for the club. It's a legal responsibility of directors to make sure that's the case. Where is Murray now the shit has finally hit the fan good and proper?
  17. Ok Maxi - don't dance around Murray and let's know your real thoughts eh? Totally agree with you mate - let's direct some ire in his direction? Is there not a case for an investigation into his dereliction of duties as a board member?
  18. Me neither. RFC "Danny - we've spent probably 6 figures developing you as a footballer, we're on our uppers financially - we'd like to offer you this deal with a low base + good appearance money - will you help us out?" Danny "Naw. Im off to sit on the bench at Spurs for £12k/week." RFC "Erm ok thanks for the loyalty."
  19. That should include the £40m investment from ENIC, the £20m from Dave King etc. Around £50m is my guess as the total absorbed into MIH. Given Murray bought the club for £6m and his various companies have been making a good profit out of Rangers for 20years + the business opps from his raised profile then i don't think he's done too badly.
  20. Here here Millarbrand. Let's start turning the heat up on Murray - he is the one who needs to come up with some answers. Also on Fleck and Wilson - i 100% agree. Let them play Under 19 football until they sign a contract. See if anyone is interested in them at 20 with no first team football for 18mths.
  21. JimBeam and Brissy - did i miss that ruling when the fans of a football team became the accoutants and financial managers of their own team? While i hear what you are saying, football fans are never going to knock back money spent on the team. They also quite rightly expect that a multi-millionaire businessman will be running a sustainable business model. We don't need rocket science to do this. Get control of the wage bill, have a cautious transfer model, ensure we recieve top dollar for our players when we do sell them on, only buy players that have a sell-on value, ensure there are 5 or 6 youth tema players in our squad of 24 (wages = low). So yes Murray did some very good things for the club but he also failed to establish a proper business model for Rangers. Any business tunring over £50m should be able to run profitably - even if it's maybe £5m per year. This would allow us to invest in youth and buy one or two well scouted and researched young players per year and pay decent wages to the key men in the team.
  22. I'd go with Beasley. Even if he's 75% he still gives us a much better shape and worries the opposing side, helps us press higher up pitch
  23. David Edgar talks a lot of sense. He'll be missed by the Rangers support - whether many of the conservative fans recognise that yet i dont know.
