  1. The thing is though about our 'youngster' who are hanging around waiting for a game is that, as someone said earlier, some of these guys are 20, 21, 22 I mean they're not kids and tbh if you're not good enough by that age you have precious little time left to make your mark before its time to move on and try and make it somewhere else. I dont think anyone is daft enough to say Walter should throw on five or six 'kids' at the start of a match just for the sake of it, but as many have said, when you're coasting a match, players are allegedly 'tired' then is the time to give one or two a chance for 20 minutes or so. I fail to believe the players we had on the bench are so bad that, for instance, bringing on say Hutton for McCulloch, or Loy for Miller, or something like that would mean the team would totally collapse and throw away a 2-0 lead against a team who were basically just playing out time and hoping not to get humped. If these players arent good enough, get rid of them and give others a chance.
  2. If football had never had saturated coverage, attendances might well not have dropped as much as they have. If we lost that coverage and went back to highlights only except for the big cup finals and the odd european night, fans might go back but they probably wouldn't. The inception of the Premier League with its 10 teams 12 teams silly name changes, effectively killed Scottish football even though for a few years it did seem to bring the competition people thought it would. The games boring now, you only have to look at attendances at the likes of St Mirren when we visit, brand new stadium, only seats 8000 and they cant even fill it against the biggest club in the country.
  3. The problem as well for players from older era's is exposure. I'm pretty sure, for instance, that Alan Morton was one of the greatest wingers ever but unlike todays football, we don't have reams and reams of video footage. Or is that a good thing? I wonder how many of the modern team will we look back on in 50 years who will stand up alongside the true greats of the club? As a very small boy my idol was Colin Stein and then it became Davie Cooper and DJ as I got a bit older. Perhaps it's age as well, because although for sure football is different now, somehow I cant see any of this current side approaching the levels of regard I had for these guys. Or perhaps it's also when you're older you don't have the hero worship thing that blinds you when you're young? Oh and a good example of this would also come picking the best goal ever scored by a Ranger, because mine would be Bobby Russell's in Eindhoven but whilst there is footage of Coopers amazing strike in the Dryborough Cup somehow I've never seen the Russell goal on utube.
  4. Thats pretty close to what I would go with except I'd have Goram and I'd want Ian Durrant in there, possibly instead of De Boer, great player that he was. I get the feeling that with that forward line at it's peak, we wouldn't need a defence!
  5. Played ok, just need a better cutting edge. I want 12
  6. All managers get upset over decisions, of course they do, but I've never seen a manager like him. Not even O'Squeal was as bad as him, because he is a rancid little bigot who somehow thinks he's above the rules and laws of the game.
  7. The penalty call was 50-50, similar in a way to St Mirrens against us and it would have been very harsh. The tackle was a disgrace and in fact I did turn that game on for about five minutes, just in time to see Samararse commit a pretty similar offence that should also have been a red card. Lemon is a disgrace as a manager and as a human being, you can just see the vile pour out of him towards the 4th official. Tbh, the longer he stays the better, he was always a time bomb waiting to happen and the more games like this for them the better, as everyone else can see outside of Scotland what a vile, disgusting little man he is and how vile and disgusting their club is. Neil Lennon will end up either dead or in a mental institution, if that I'm convinced.
  8. I dont buy the physically tired pish and tonight they didn't look tired, they just looked crap. The mentally tired argument is relevant but I wouldnt say its tiredness really. I can understand when you have a big game to get up for, that sometimes there can be a let down after that, it happens in all walks of life. I think it's more to do with overconfidence, and perhaps that isn't even the right word. It seems that it takes something in nearly every domestic game to wake our players up, and eventually they were going to come a cropper. However one good result doesnt make you the best and so one bad result doesnt make you the worst, but Walter really needs to drop some of these guys so they get a taste of reality.
  9. He was playing not too bad for me, but tbh I was never turning down £2.5m. Hutton has already triggered that clause so another million in the bank.
  10. I suppose we're due poor performances now and again, thats football. Truth is, this has been coming for a long time now with the way this team have started domestic matches, it was bound to bite them on the bum. Of course no doubt Walter will say its because we have too small a squad, players are tired blah blah blah. But then he's brought it on himself by his point blank refusal to give other players chances when the opportunity has been there and it seems some of these players think they are immune from being dropped. And they're probably right.
  11. Got an offer of £1.5m for Kirk Broadfoot in the January 11 transfer window, asked for £2.5m up front plus 20% of any future sale and another £500k after 20 game, which was accepted. So Kirk is off too.. Valencia
  12. For, with the shameful Bloodstained Poppy banner row now extending to news outlets outside of Scotland, and even beyond Britain's shores, the world will be watching. And listening. That is the most telling point of this whole affair. For years, the Scottish media have chosen to ignore the behaviour of the more vile of Celtc's fans, but will they still be able to do so in light of the fact other media outlets outwith this country will be watching to see what happens with the 'we'll ban these people' (They're really going to ban that whole stand?) and also what happens come the game with St Mirren. Of course, no doubt ESPN will turn the sound off, but others wont. Give people enough rope, they'll hang themselves.
  13. The fact is, whilst their vile club might wring their hands in mock indignation, if the issue hadn't been raised outside the Scottish media - and thereby giving them no chance to hide from it - it would all have been swept under their ever bulging carpet, where they hide many many sins. They promised to 'hunt down' those fans, why do they need to hunt them they surely know who they are. It's not rocket science.
  14. When you're setting up the match, theres a tab for opposition instructions where you can set out how you want individual opponents to be treated.
  15. Finally played my first OF game in FM11 (had to restart because I had made a couple of errors in my files), at the piggery. Went into the match with six wins from six, and no goals conceded. Weiss sent us ahead after just fifteen minutes and right on half time, Charlie Mulgrew got a red card for fouling Kenny Miller as he was through on goal. Juarez though levelled right after the break, before Miller and then Fleck sent us 3-1 up, but Daryl Murphy got the bastards a second. Stokes was substituted and moaned his face off about it which was hilarious and after the game the Lurgan Bigot (yes he is called that in my game!) was whining about the red card - very funny and realistic
  16. He was moving his arm away from the ball to avoid it, theres no way thats a penalty in a million years. But fuck it, we don't need the help of refs and childish moronic protests to help us in our title romp.
  17. Not sure how realistic the agents fee's are, but they are annoying. And if they do get that much irl no wonder they try and move players around so much. Surely anyway the players should pay the agent, they employ them not the club.
  18. It should be random in a proper game - ie not a quickstart like the demo was. Sometimes though, you do see certain players make the same or similar moves but generally it's random.
  19. Yay just won my first trophy. Have set up a British Champions Cup, played early August. Got Chelsea in the Semis, whilst Linfield played Llaneli. Lost 2-0 at Ibrox, first competitive match, 3-5-2 and it just didnt work so I switched to a 4-4-2 diamond which worked ok in the league, beat Hibs 4-0 at Ibrox and Dunfermline 3-2 at wherever they play. Then went to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea, basically just hoping the team played well and looked like they could do well in the future. Two own goals, two penalties and Naismith chip gave us a 5-1 win, despite getting Jelavic red carded on 71 for handball in the opposition area Then hammered Llaneli 4-0 in the Final which was a bit anti climactic. Brought in 2 Belgian defenders on loan, Ritchie de Laet from Man ure and and Dedryck Boyata from Man City for cover.
  20. Finally up and running after my restructure of the Scottish leagues and Europe, bringing back the Cup Winners Cup - not that I'll ever play in it with the Gers of course.
  21. 6 weeks? try six months. Lemmon's first words as manager were that the refs were all against them.
  22. Total farce, the sheep shagging bastards should be kicked out the league for not trying. And whats the betting Lemmon will still whine because the ref dared to send one his 'players' off. Looks like the way to success in Scotland now is simply to whine about every decision against you until the refs cave in and become too scared.
  23. This will be the same Billy McNeil who said we'd never do nine in a row ? Yeah ok.
  24. People say there were no real options on the bench, then the question has to be asked why are those players still at the club? When we went 2-0 down, he should have been less cautious and given a couple of players from the bench a run if not for anything else than the experience. But it's always been two of Walters big failings, great manager that he is otherwise, he won't risk youth much and he is always so so slow in making subs. Wouldn't have changed the outcome perhaps, but that's not really the point.
  25. How often was he injured last season? I wasn't paying too much attention to it as I don't really care about Dundee United, but it seemed to me he played a decent number of games? Comes back to Rangers, and suddenly he's got injuries again. Weird situation to say the least.
