  1. capital B in "Big fan of RM" - trying too hard plus the "No Surrender"- trying way too hard
  2. Each year we have to try to get a little better, increase the quality. A few in and a couple out would do me. In: 1 x CB In: 1 x RB (maybe? - I would give Argyriou a chance next year) In: 1 x CM In: 1 x CF Out: Kyle (definitely) Out: Perry (definitely) Out: Cribari (only if he was replaced) Out: Sandaza (only if he was replaced) As you can see, for the sake of having numbers in the squad, I would only cut Cribari & Sandaza if we replaced them with better quality in those exact positions. Improvement in the quality of a couple of positions in our team, would make a massive impact. Very little difference to the wage costs - big impact on the team.
  3. He made positive comments about our support - even though we sang a nice song about his wife.
  4. For me, Andy Little could be a Kris Boyd but with a better attitude. If and it is a big if, he continues to play as a striker, he will improve as we move through the leagues. He is a natural striker and his goals to shots ratio must be very good. He still struggles when he has his back to goal, however surely that is what Murray Park is for. If he gets thrown back on the wing, it will just waste the guy - he is not, nor ever will be a player capable at playing well on the wing. He struggles in div3 out wide and it will only get worse as we progress. For those who say he scores when coming in from the wing - yes he does, he scores when he comes in and goes through the middle - that is the key point, he scores when he comes in and makes his runs through the middle - therefore play him through the middle! AND play a natural winger out wide, we have plenty to choose from. I hope he gets the chance to play the remainder of the season up front - we will gain or learn nothing further from playing Jig or Sandaza up front.
  5. Quite right too regarding the Record - but everyone should be reading the official Rangers site.
  6. I always do Swally - Official site then RM Although if things keep going as they are, it will be official site for Rangers news and RM for C*ltics news - i have never read so much about the bheggars on this site, really bursting my arse.
  7. Have a read on the Rangers Official site mate.
  8. Good post TBB. Even if the store just broke even, it would be worth having a presence in Glasgow. I am sure however, that a single well run superstore in central glasgow will make a profit. Would be interesting to know if it is in the plans??
  9. Played well which is good - however, threw the ball at a QP players back early on and a bit later kicked the ball off a QP player injured on the ground. On another day could have been booked or off. He needs to grow up. As for his play, best performance so far.
  10. Stew, reading all your posts above - very well put together and well explained. Above that I agree with all you say. Forgetting results for a moment - watching our players play without any basic design, often without basic ball skills, passing without moving, poor weight of passing, marking wrong side of forwards, miss placed passing, closing down individually instead of as a group and many many many more examples. These things happen week in week out. We simply do not teach properly, or the guys we have at MP are wrong to start with. This is not based on the Utd game - this is week in week out for numerous seasons. Until we adopt a more modern approach then nothing will change.
  11. Call the Emporium bar on +65 6225 4816. Better to call ahead as they do not always show it - if they are then it is a great little bar with multi screens on the go. Not sure what channel the game is on, if it is SKY then they should show it no problem. Food is good, although you are right in chinatown, therefore plenty of choices - if you are having a session on the beer pre match, drink in chinatown, fraction of the price and great atmosphere.
  12. Strangely relieved with this news - had a bad feeling when I was watching the tackle on RTV. At first thought it could have been a break and then the worry of an ACL. He should come back 100% from a medial tear and probably walking fine in 2 or 3 weeks from now. Some rest, a few weeks in the gym, build up his fitness and the boy will be back better than ever. I have high hopes for the lad - great to see a "genuine" good young prospect at Ibrox.
  13. Ok my friend - what hand has he shown exactly? Professional football in Scotland is an extremely small world (I was part of it for over 10 years) - Longmuir is not preaching to the masses and the masses will have zero impact (rightly or wrongly) on the outcome of these meetings. The audience he sits at the table with to discuss the way ahead will know exactly who, what and where this guy comes from already and any possible feeling he has for Rangers will already be known. His public outing will tell the sfl, spl and sfa absolutely nothing. Your description of 'showing your hand' in a business perspective, I fully understand and you are correct - I just do not believe it is relevant in this instance. In general though, my main point was - should people be open about the fact they like, love or live for Rangers, then context or timing would never be an issue to begin with.
  14. My worry is our defence (probably like every other Rangers fan on the planet!) We are really hopeless at the back and are simply unable to dominate and bully oppositions forwards. I think our forwards and creative midfielders are more than capable of causing ANY team problems on their day, hopefully the misfiring will end on Saturday. My prediction is that we will need to score 3 to have a chance as I cannot see our defence keeping them to nil or 1 goal. Therefore, 3-2 Rangers.
  15. People moan on here that no-one admits they are Rangers fans - now many are moaning that a guy mentions his family are Rangers fans. For fuck sake, maybe if more Rangers fans were more outspoken about their club there would be less hysteria. The fact Longmuir was happy to mention this, tells me that he sees no issue with his family being Rangers fans and in fact, may be proud of it. He is an intelligent man and therefore would not have said it, if he was not comfortable in his position. Maybe you guys saying 'bye bye' or 'dumpling' or generally having a go should man up. I have worked in many places and I am always proud to tell people I support Rangers - it has had no negative impact on my life. Hiding your true colours has not exactly worked well over the last 10 or 20 years, look where it has got us!!
  16. Not most improved mate - simply now being played in an area where he is decent. To continually play the guy in midfield was the issue, as you quite rightly mention..
  17. Thanks mate - watching with interest. Good luck.
  18. To me this is not about simply having a go at Ally. The man has been tremendous for us and he does deserve some slack, however I believe he has had plenty of slack considering some of the poor performances this season. I take my football seriously and I expect the manager of my team to do likewise - I expect the manager of Rangers FC to act like the game is the most important thing in the world for those 90 minutes. I watched the game on RTV and the cameras cut to the bench on more than one occasion when he was joking around - for me that is not on. We all know Ally likes a laugh and a joke, it is part of the reason he is loved the way he is, however for me laughing and joking during a game is not right. That is simply my opinion guys. More worrying is when Ally is laughing and joking during a game when; a) our right back has the touch of a brick wall and struggles to pass to a Rangers player. b) our right sided centre half's positional sense is shocking and his passing is poor. c) our players shooting was extremely poor yesterday, yet they can laugh and joke when they have hit the ball 20 yards over the crossbar (MacLeod). d) arguably our most gifted player (templeton) continues to shoot from distance and from poor angles when he has multiple chances to play in our strikers/midfielders. e) Hutton (who generally played ok) continues to let himself down every game by getting sloppy and losing possession. The above, plus many more examples, during a game when we are playing against ten men and still allowing them chances to score. For me, you do not instill professionalism, ruthlessness or a work ethic to improve your game unless you take your profession more seriously that it looks like Rangers are at present. Finally - I do not want Ally sacked - I want Ally to be a great Rangers manager and manage a great Rangers team.
  19. It's all about the "happy endings" mate!
  20. Boss, lets say the SPL and SFL merge and we are therefore bound by the TV contract. What would the ramifications be if we refused the TV cameras in our ground??
  21. Will be on Monday, but unless the tramp is begging for his flight money, he'll probably be away!!
