Only he knows...
Looked like he was expecting contact and dived - theatrical fall, and after the game against them wouldn’t surprise me.

I don't see the point in hiring and firing the managers who don't get the chance to build anything. Our manager hasn't had any money to spend yet and is utilising a squad that's failed basically 3 managers.
Madness to keep doing what we are doing and expecting success.
Especially when you can see with Clement he’s experienced, clever, knows his stuff and clearly knows the game. Would be madness to sack him regardless of results to the end - think he needs at least till spring 2025 to be judged.
personally think he’ll come good and gain legendary status if he can get enough turnover in the squad this window. Big fan.

Unlikely but we’ll need to win the next 3 and in the unlikely event we take something from Parkhead we will need Kilmarnock to take something from then, and even then I still don’t trust us at getting the job done on the last day.
Honestly not sure I’ll survive a final game total decider it’s been so long since I’ve put my body through that.

Dire today but:
1) they’ll drop points, if we can find some form and get a result agains them we can still do it (though think that’s unlikely)
2) incredible clement got within touching distance - takes some blame for today but he’s little to work with between squad quality and injuries - with a few windows I think he’ll assemble a proper football team

I honestly don't see what other choice they have?
I can't find anything in the rules that gives the SPFL the power to move the game to another venue. They can sanction a club for failure to maintain a pitch but that wouldn't give the league carte blanche to order them to play a fixture elsewhere, considering that goes against the SPFL's own rule of having to fulfil all fixtures at the one ground.
This - appears one of those situations where it’s so ridiculous whoever was instructed to draft the regs and people instructing (possibly reasonably!) didn’t envisage this ludicrous scenario being a possibility.

I've said it from when this nonsense started. I think dundee the spfl etc are trying to put us under as much pressure as possible Strachan works for both dundee and celtic. The aim get dens just playable enough to get the game on and hope we drop points..
Wild take

basically Dundee are in breach of obligations to ensure a playable surface but it looks like SPFL have pretty much full discretion to decide relevant sanctions or requirements. They really need to do something, unacceptable there’s been what, 5 postponed games this season?
*Edit, unsure how current the rules are but some bits of doc reference at least up to 2022.

Can’t remember a player for us in recent times with that same physicality plus pace and drive tbh - some parts of his game need a bit of refinement but can’t imagine him making it in PL yet and think we should try to pay the fee, reckon he’d go for a fair whack a year or two down the line especially if we can get another euro run

But he's not that player anymore where he's always attacking.
He doesn't have the legs to get uo and down the park the way he used to.
The first goal was nothing to do with him being too far forward and out of position.
His goal and assist record disagrees. He looked slow today but so did half the team out there - fair enough not a great performance but the guy delivers and has done all season.

Next season should we move Tav into the right of a midfield 3? This limits his defensive woes but allows for the positives still, assists and goals.
Nah think people suggesting this don’t get the set up with RBs and LBs that are attacking.

Same sort of comment Liverpool fans make about Alexander Arnold - much of it is just nature of attacking full backs

Class manager working with below class players. Got it wrong picking Lawrence but there must've been a reason for dropping Cantwell.
Wondered if Cantwell bit off the pace and wouldn’t finish the 90 mins. Great option to bring on when tired legs, thought his forward play bit poor but so much tracking back, closing down and interrupting them towards the end

I can’t remember the last time we played them and didn’t give up an absolute shocking goal .. doubled down today.
Jack Butland needs more attention for those first half saves. Could’ve been going in down 3 or 4
Agree actually though his positioning was a bit odd for their third but it did go low through legs so maybe unfair.
still made that great save for the header that was sure was a goal.

If that's not a pen then our second goal should stand. Same amount of contact.
It's a definite penalty. There is clear contact and that's all that matters. Nobody can guess if there is enough contact to make someone fall.
Think that’s my main point these daft VAR reviews - ruin the game, slow it down and take away the joy of it. Let the ref make the call and move on, drama was always part of the football.

Silva definetely went looking for it and made the most of it but it was a penalty.
Maybe aye but definitely would be raging if that was given against us as a foul

First reaction I thought Silva threw himself, but there was contact the guys leg is over his knee so even if Silva did go down easily, its still a penalty. Never hear Sutton moan when Kyogo does it, all the fucking time. And from what I remember, Sutton himself was pretty good at the old dive.
Aye he’s like a US shock jock though, loves the outrage so best ignoring his nonsense tbh.
thought it was soft but probably right call - if that penalty was given against us though I’d be fuming tbh.

Hopefully the final result doesn’t mask the utter fucking shit show of a first half. Serious questions need asked as to what happened. Tav specifically was the worst I’ve ever seen.
Massive result, and all is well, but we need to sort out this mental block that sees us shit the bed every time out against them.
Agree can see the wind was a nightmare but they coped and we shat it. How tav lost track of the first goal was ridiculous.
first half was grim we looked like a Ross county, absolutely no quality.
have to say though given the last 10 years, I thought we’d end up 3 or 4 down but credit to Clement for the whatever he said at half time, absolutely didn’t think we’d end up drawing.
defending for their third goal was ridiculous - too many people jogging back and letting folk on the ball just carry on.

What’s all the chat about soft Silva pen. I haven’t seen it?
Tbh didn’t think it was a penalty - but looks different from different angles - overall think VAR ruined the game, lost its flow (both for decision that went our way and one against)

I have to say that whilst money in UCL is better after last time I wouldn’t be disappointed with EL again - realistically we can hold our own, in UCL money had distorted things to the point where it’s depressing to be in it

Place is full of complete bell ends man. Digging us for nit getting into the quarters with a threadbare squad against teams who spend 100 million building squads.
They don't deserve to follow us
100% - numbers who stayed back to applaud the team yesterday show this is a minority view thankfully.
people forget just how shite we were before PC came in, and how many injuries we have.
-
Rooney and Giggs for man utd - they got a penalty late on sure after we got a 0-0 away at old Trafford

I mean it’s completely unlikely we’ll win the league but win tomorrow and win at their place and it’s neck and neck - the fact that’s true compared to where we were under Beale is pretty unbelievable tbh even though it’s pretty grim from where we could have been if not for some daft results in last few weeks
