Clement is not responsible for Cantwell’s application, or as was the case last night, his lack of application.
The team and the role you are being asked to play for the team has to come first and any respectable Rangers manager would have done the same thing that Clement did, and probably a whole lot more considering his reaction, if they had a player who effectively petted his lip and decided to saunter about and treat last night like a training game because he’s been asked to play a slightly different role and he doesn’t want to do it.
It’s not the attitude expected from Rangers players and I think it’s mental that there are so many people defending him tbh.

I doubt PC has decided to come in and pick a fight with Cantwell, a fan favourite. There is obviously something behind the scenes that PC doesn't like. Got to trust him. Perhaps Cantwell challenges his authority? Perhaps he ignores what he is tasked with? Whatever it is, got to believe the problem is with Cantwell and not PC, as I'm sure PC would rather have a functioning Cantwell than Lammers.

I'd rather players were subbed if they are utter crap even if they are following orders.   Clement worries me because it was obvious that Cantwell should have been moved centrally behind Danilo.    Cantwell is our main creative player.   Sima was anonymous, Lammers was simply awful as was Cifuentes.  Souttar and Davies make Balogun and Goldson look like Sergio Ramos in his prime.

They must have been - just becuase they are shite or make mistakes doesn't change they are trying to do what he wants.

I said before that I reckon Clement would rather have someone sticking to his game plan and perhaps playing poorly than a maverick doing whatever they want even if that maverick occasionally does something effective.
All his statements are about "the team" and teams don't work unless everyone is pulling together for the collective good.

Valid points. Lammers tries hard but isn't good enough and Cigu should have been subbed at half time.
Be very difficult to pick a first 11 tonight that didn't include some mediocre players.
Realistically, that is where we are.
Beale wasted millions and the team is severely unbalanced.

I get that, our options are dire.

I would give pass marks to McAusland , Lundstram, Butland and maybe Barasic but the rest were nowhere near good enough to justify a wage. I thought the international break would have been a chance to get the players fitter and gel into a system but if anything they are toiling for fitness and looked as if the ball was a stranger and team mates invisible.

He has seen them often enough and at training to see that they clearly cant play football. He needs to explain why he keeps selecting some of these players Lammers in particular who brings no positives to the team whatsoever

certainly not turning on him but he hasnt helped himself with his weird team selections. Particularly playing players out of position to suit the worst player at the club (lammers) who seems to be a stick on starter for him. Baffling

What's the point in have a team start so unbalanced every week.
